Hey guys! I've been bitten by the Metal Build bug and have pre-ordered the Alternative Red Frame Kai. I also picked up the MB Blue Frame Astray and the Gunbarrel Striker from Mandarake. I'm considering getting an MB Strke as well. Is there a difference between the MB Aile Strike and the MB Strike Infinity? Will the Alternative packs (like the CALETVWLCH, Flight Unit Option Set, and upcoming Striker and Sword Packs) fit on either? Thanks! -
I'm in for Rescue. Possibly Iron Spider because of the Iron Gauntlet. Don't know about Cap and the Mk 85 though. Takara Tony's Mk 85 Nano Weapons set that I have on order seems a lot more generous than Bandai's offering.

Ah, okay. Thanks for the explanation Sanity! I take it that there is no locking mechanism to keep the covers open other than friction? I would check this out myself but my Armored Packs are still in transit. Hehe!

So many great pics of the armored pack! I find it amusing though that many keep the cannon covers closed. Is that deliberate?

After being unavailable in NY, the armor is back up with the usual mark-up: https://www.nippon-yasan.com/27647-macross-delta-armored-parts-set-for-dx-chogokin-vf-31s-siegfried-arad-molders-custom-limited-edition.html I was getting worried that NY might not get enough stock for everyone who ordered, but now that its back on stock and us getting the preparation in progress emails, I'm reasonably confident that I'll have my armors soon. Also, now that I've seen the armors on Chuck's 31, it's apparent that they're a different shade of orange. Still miffed that they went with orange for Arad's armor pack though.

This Ten guy also made a custom Armored Ozma. I can recognize some of the custom parts were used from the V1 DX Tornado set. The others look like they were kitbashed from an MG Heavyarms.

I finally got my Chuck VF-31E. Its been stuck in Saudi customs for about a week. Don't know why they held it. Had to go directly to the Saudi Central Post Office to get it. Spent over two hours in line in both customs and in package releasing before finally getting the package. Almost got caught by mid-day prayer time too. At least I didn't pay any extra customs duties. But they did open the package just to see what was inside. The customs officer asked me if it had any cameras or batteries. They probably thought it was a drone! Hehe! Anyway, My Delta Platoon is complete! I just need to find a nice place to display all of them together. And of course, wait for the rest of the super/armor packs to be released.

As upsetting it is for us consumers that the practice of scalping, mark-ups and price-gouging exists, from a business standpoint, its fair game. Execs in NY have probably and rightly deduced that they’ll be missing out on huge profits if they sell at strictly MSRP. Its inevitable that scalpers would just buy and sell at a higher price, so why not cut the middle man out and do the scalping themselves, right? Unless Bandai implements some kind of penalty on authorized resellers for marking up their products, there is zero incentive for resellers not to get in on the scalping action. And even if Bandai did it, it won’t stop individual sellers from scalping. Such is our lot as collectors.

Hehe, thanks Noel! But I'm actually feeling like a re-watch of the entire original series. I've re-watched the Rebuild movies quite a bit. I have a strong feeling that the Metal Build Eva-00 will be released in time for the fourth Rebuild movie next year.

Yeah, I wish I was a US citizen or resident. I'd have ordered from Bluefin in a heartbeat. Unfortunately, for a non-US citizen/resident like me, NY was pretty much my only option for now.

Bit the bullet and ordered from NY at the markup price and paid upfront. Asuka is extremely popular in Japan (more than baka-Shinji), so I'm betting that prices will only go higher from here out, until the inevitable re-issue comes.

Yeah, don't really support NY's markup practices, but it seems that they'll be my chance to get this. Unless I wait for the inevitable re-issue.
