    I'm on line for renewal VF-0S, assuming that the improvements of the VF-0D did away with all of the issues of Yamato's previous Zero releases. I invested in the first issue of the 0S and have had to put up with the floppiness, sinking ankles and disintegrating shoulders. Also, IF Arcadia does a renewal 0S, I hope it will be compatible with Yamato's Ghost. But seeing as Arcadia seems to be bundling stuff with their latest releases (i.e. the Fire Valk with Sound Booster, and the VF-1J with GBP Armor), it seems more likely that Arcadia would release the 0S or 0A with the Ghost and price it accordingly.

    Wow Nod! That's quite a treasure trove! Looking at your shelf, I feel like I'm in the 80's again! Liking the Jetfire and Sunstreaker as these were my favorite autobot toys (although I couldn't afford to get them as a kid). Congratulations!

    Agreed! As someone earlier pointed out, its like a re-imagining of Hikaru's Strike Valkyrie. I just wish some of the panels on the armor opened to show the missiles underneath. Although it doesn't do this in the animated series, I clearly saw this feature in the Ultimate Frontier and Macross 30 games.

    I saw what you did there Yeti! But yeah, I felt the same way when I found the loose thread on the shoulder of my YF-29 Ozma, which I barely play with. Toys this expensive should ideally be free from QC concerns like this. But as I'm also handling administrative matters in my office, I do know that human error is an inevitable part of life, regardless of how much we try to spend to overcome it. Nice pic by the way! You're making me think real hard about investing in your stands. Its a great piece gunbuster! A worthy addition to any Macross fan's collection IMHO. Just don't get the cannon-fodder 171 Nightmare Plus. Just look at the number of complaints over at its thread.

    Congrats Yeti on your purchase! I personally think that the EX plus is a great piece. :-) On the other hand, I'm sorry to hear about your troubles. I haven't tried transforming my own Alto 171EX to battroid yet so I don't know if I have similar issues with mine. At least, you found a ready solution. Hope everything works out!

    Getting a little OT, but it seems that a lot of us have daughters instead of sons. I have an 8 year old going on 9 daughter too. While she likes Macross (especially Mylene, Ranka and Sheryl), she's not really into the valks (unless its Mylene's of course). On one hand, I think that's a good thing because at least, I don't have to have an extra budget to get valks specifically for her (like Spanner does for his son). On the other hand, I feel sad because I won't be able to pass down my valks to her (she'll probably just end up selling them).

    Sorry to hear that Sandman. But don't lose hope! NY usually opens up more pre-orders. I remember that they did so with the VF-25s re-issue last year despite how fast people were snapping them up. And they STILL have the VF-25s in stock today at a very reasonable price. Hopefully this will be the case for this release too.

    Thanks Abbadon! Hope you can get one for a good price! When I started my collection, I initially thought of just getting the leader type "S" valks. (I'm actually waiting on a VF-22S Gamlin right now.) I ended up breaking my own rule though when I got Alto's VF-25F renewal. Never looked back since.

    Thanks Yeti! I can tell you're a fan by your sig pic. Thanks Spanner! Mandarake listed this for only 12k yen too! They said it was opened and used, but whoever owned this made sure it got repacked like it was out of the factory. The valk was still wrapped in the original sheets of plastic! It's in very pristine condition. BTW, there's two 19Fs for sale in Mandarake. Its tempting to get them to complete an Emerald Force Squadron, but they're priced 20k and 22k Yen respectively. A bit out of my budget considering the pre-orders I have waiting.

    I'm blessed that my timezone is just two hours behind Japan's. But I'm sure that I'd be discouraged too if I had to stay awake way past midnight to line up for a pre-order and walk away empty-handed. Probably not enough to start dissing other people, but discouraged nonetheless. I do hope though, that Mommar and the other MWers who missed the pre-order window will be able to secure one on release.

    Wow, that's a pretty awesome collection Abaddon! I love your VF-1 series, especially the Vermillion squadron! Some of those valks are pretty hard to get now.

    Thanks Spanner! I was one of the MWers who got the v1 Armored VF-25s package upon release. I had gotten it from HLJ back then. It actually also experienced the same spontaneous breakage as VF5SS over at CollectionDX (http://www.collectiondx.com/toy_review/2011/vf25s_messiah_valkyrie_ozma_custom_renewal_version) and I had to meticulously repair the damage using Tamiya super glue. Its fine now and I can transform it with no problems. But I'm afraid that its only a matter of time before the other joints break. Still, you're right in that it looks best in fighter mode, which is why I still keep it in my display. If only HLJ did not botch up my first VF-25s renewal preorder, I would have already replaced it last year.

    Hmm, so its cheaper in the States. I was expecting that the prices here would be higher. Yeah, I should get more than one Detolf to make the trip worthwhile. But after reviewing my toy and hobby budget for this year, I think I won't be able to get a decent display for a while. Hehe. At least with the shelf that I have now, I have easy access to play with my valks.

    Thanks Saburo! I've got a few more valks coming in this month. And then the VB-6 Koenig, Armored VF-1J and (hopefully) the VF-19 Advance in May. My problem now is where to put all of them. They sell Detolf shelves in Ikea Indonesia, but its in a city outside of Jakarta about two hours drive away from where I live. Its about USD 80 bucks a piece here. How much were you able to get yours for?

    Wow, just got the email notification from NY. But then saw the price...I think I'm sticking with my HLJ pre-order on this one. Hope they will be able to deliver this time around.

    Thanks Abbadon! I wish I had a better display case to put them on. Thanks Moosey! The 171 EX was kind of an impulse buy for me. I got it from Mandarake together with the armor parts. I think there are still a lot of them for sale there. Thanks Gakken! A compliment from a long time MWer is precious indeed! Congrats ChaoticYeti! I think the Alto 171 with the armor parts is a good buy! While I ordered mine on impulse, I had been considering the 171 for quite a while. I've checked the reviews and it seems that the Alto 171EX is the more stable release. I had wanted to get the cannon-fodder Nightmare Plus, but it had too many breakage issues. I'm still on the fence on getting the Luca version. Maybe I'll consider completing a squadron when the Maruyama Custom comes out.
