  1. I searched online and saw the name of the store. Its R-Toys at Virra Mall (Great Toys is in Shoppesville): They also have a couple of loose v2 VF-1's there too (a strike Hikky and strike Fokker), both panel lined and missing some parts, w/out boxes. PhP 11,+++ each (around USD250.00). There's some other Macross and Robotech stuff as well, but nothing overly special, in my books at least.
  2. Thanks for the clarification David! My Nihongo is a little rusty (and my kanji even more so), but what I understood was that Mr. K does want to have the Ghost with the 0A/0S. While he didn't specify backwards compatibility with the Yamato Ghost, again, it stands to reason that Arcadia would cut costs and use the existing mold, which David says they already have. That would be great news for all of us who already have the Ghost pack from the Yamato release...as long as Arcadia doesn't decide to exclusively release the renewal 0A/S already bundled with the Ghost pack. Please give us options to buy them separately okay Arcadia? Onegai itashimasu!
  3. Its only for the standalone super/ strike parts. No VF-1 included unfortunately. :-(
  4. Ah, I didn't know that Arcadia didn't get all of the old molds from Yamato during the transition. I guess the 1/48's are considered real collector's items now. Not to start a flame war or anything, but for the sake of speculation (which we MWers love to do during any announcement for a new toy, hehe), I'm still willing to take my chances that this renewal Zero release will be backwards compatible with the Yamato Ghost set. Contributing to my educated guess are the following: 1) I'm sure that Arcadia would have more or less gotten most if not all of the 1/60 molds from Yamato as these are currently the most lucrative. It stands to reason that Arcadia would not have risked coming up with the renewal Zero valks if they did not have a long term plan involving the existing molds from Yamato. This includes of course, the Ghost packs. I'm sure they have similar plans with regards to the valks from the other series. 2) Barring appearances in the Macross games and model kits, we never saw the VF-0D with the Ghost pack in the OVA, so Kawamori can get away with saying that its not compatible. Maybe he never meant for the 0D to have the Ghost pack on in the first place. However, looking at how the Ghost is connected to the first release 0A/S, all that's needed to make the Yamato Ghost pack fit on the 0D is the replacement of the fuel tanks with the ones with the slots. This is the only connection point between the Ghost and the valk on the original release, and -- basing on the pic from Wonderfest -- seems to be the case with the renewal valk as well. In the original release, these slotted fuel tanks came with the standalone Ghost pack and replaced the ones on the valk, which were removable. Assuming that Arcadia has a similar solution for the 0D however, would mean that the Ghost would be connected even more tenuously than on the 0A/S. In the latter, the Ghost is held in place in the rear of those valks by the tailfins. Not a very elegant solution I would agree. Anyway, I must confess that I have a personal stake in hoping for the backwards compatibility since I already have a ghost pack. Having backwards compatibility would at least lessen the pain that I have to get rid of my old 0S for this renewal release. So yeah, my speculation comes with some wishful thinking. Hehe!
  5. Well, that's true. Sans an official announcement from Arcadia, it might be pre-mature to assume backwards-compatibility at this point. IMHO however, it would make sense that Arcadia would make it backwards compatible since they already own the mold for the old Ghost set. There weren't any big issues associated with Yamato's Ghost set so it would save Arcadia a lot of money not to re-design one from the ground up. I own the first release VF-0S, as well as a standalone QF-2200D Ghost pack, and the slots in the renewal pics look pretty much identical to the slots found on the replacement fuel tanks from the Yamato release. Also, isn't Arcadia's redesigned YF-19 backwards compatible with the fold booster pack from the old set? If so, then chances are good that the Zero renewals will be backwards compatible as well. Of course, Arcadia can always re-release the standalone Ghost pack anytime. I guess we'll know for sure following more official announcements.
  6. @Saburo Nice flightsuit Yuki! She would go well in a shot with the 30 Anniv YF-29. (Hint, hint)
  7. Abbadon, when I was in Manila a couple weeks ago, I saw an MIB 1/60 VF-1 super/strike parts being sold in Virra Mall. I forgot the name of the shop, but its the toy shop on the same floor as Toy Kingdom on the right side if you're coming from Toy Kingdom. Its selling for PhP 7k++, which is a bit hard to swallow (about USD 170), but considering that its MIB and that its hard to come by these days, you might want to take a look.
  8. Wow, this news wasn't totally unexpected, but still, was pleasantly surprised to see that Arcadia did have the renewal 0A and 0S in the pipeline! Looking at the pic below, it seems that this would be compatible with Yamato's Ghost pack as it already has the requisite slots on the fuel tanks: Now I'm hoping Arcadia would go the whole mile and announce the reactive armor set for the 0S. :-D
  9. That's not all that's back in stock in NY. They also have the Super Pack and Ghost Pack for the RVF-25, and the armored pack for the VF25F, as well as the VF-27 with super pack. Looks like they have some extra stuff in inventory. :-)
  10. For those who are looking for the super parts and ghost set for the RVF-25 renewal, it seems that NY stocked up on them again: https://www.nippon-yasan.com/macross/5369-macross-f-super-parts-ghost-set-for-macross-f-dx-chogokin-rvf-25-messiah-valkyrie-luca-custom-renewal-ver-limited-edition.html Its a bit steep though, but a little less that what's selling on ebay.
  11. Wow. Now that's one high-end quality toy! Just imagine if Bandai or Yamacadia would do something similar to a valk. I remember Matchbox's huge Super Veritech/Valkyrie (Robotech) which had a removable and poseable Rick Hunter/Hikaru figure. But it could only transform to Guardian/Gerwalk mode. I'm still waiting for the day that a toymaker would come up with a perfect transformation valkyrie with a removable fully poseable action figure pilot. Found the pic for the Matchbox effort:
  12. Whoa. Is that fully articulated? As well as the pilot figure? That's very impressive!
  13. Please stop giving Kawamori-san ideas. He just might actually take it up as a challenge you know, just to throw a curveball to his fans.
  14. Thanks Saburo! I actually downloaded your Skull Squadron pics over at Flickr since I don't have the set-up to take a decent photo of my own valks.
  15. After coming back from a hectic ten-day vacation from the Philippines, I come back to my office in Jakarta to see this on my table. Minty fresh out of the box! With the Super Pack and Ghost Set. It took a while (almost half a year), but getting this set was worth the wait! (The Super Pack and Ghost set is particularly hard to come by these days.) Thanks to my Malaysian friend for getting this for me, and thanks to my officemate for bringing this all the way to Jakarta! Now my Frontier Skull Squadron is complete! Luca (aka Luke): "Go forth Simon, John and Peter!" (Since they were using New Testament nomenclature, they could have at least been consistent and named one ghost after the apostle Matthew, since Simon Peter is one and the same person. Oh well.) Thank you Lord for this wonderful gift!
  16. These are amazing shots as always Saburo! Those tampo details really pop out! I wish I could afford to diversify my toy collection to include the Metal Build series. As it is, I'm limited to the Robot Damashii series for my Gundam needs.
  17. That's a fantastic setup Spanner! Sorry if I missed it, but did you already mention where you got your shelves from? Aw, and you've got a complete Emerald Force squadron too! That's cool!
  18. Excellent work Saburo! Maybe you can put the Nendroids and the Yamato girls in the middle shelves, and install some strobe/laser lights to simulate a live concert. :-)
  19. Anybody interested in getting the DX Super VF-27? I got an email notification that it is back in stock at NY: http://www.nippon-yasan.com/product.php?id_product=5088 Its also in stock over at Plamoya: http://plamoya.com/en/dx-chogokin-macross-frontier-vf27-lucifer-super-parts-set-p-81173.html Given the weak JPY, I think these prices are quite reasonable considering this already comes bundled with the Super Pack. For me, this is one of the best enemy valkyries you can buy right now.
  20. Thanks for the info Saburo! I also know that when you do a pre-order combine with NY, the price automatically gets changed to JPY. I'm assuming this is true for the pre-order split as well as I've only done the former.
  21. Well, congrats on being able to get the first release! I missed both the first and second release 21s as well as the Arcadia 19 release. So no Plus-era valks in my collection.
  22. Just a quick question guys. When you order from NY, do you pay in JPY or in USD? I've set my NY account quote prices for me in USD, so I pay my orders in USD. This includes pre-orders which I have not paid yet. I guess what this means is that the price I get quoted is based on the prevailing exchange rate at the time I made my order (because the price doesn't change in my account). On one hand, this is good because I don't become a victim of fluctuating exchange rates. On the other hand, if the USD becomes stronger, I don't get the benefit of paying less. Eye for an eye I guess.
  23. @Saburo, That's a great pic of the RVF-25! Sharp and detailed as always! @Old Man, Great dual plane setups! Is Yeti giving you guys a discount for free advertising? Because its working on me...almost. @Hornet, Nice pics! I noticed that your YF-21 does not have the fast packs. Is that the second run release? It's practically impossible to find a YF-21 now, let alone the first release with the fast pack bundle.
