These are the money shots right here! So the tornado cannons are attached to the end of a container pod and can be deployed during fighter mode. They essentially fold forward to have the cannons face forward. I’m surprised Chuck got into the armored action as well. I’ll still be getting him the regular super packs and keep his radome when his DX comes out. Arad’s will be the only Delta Valk with armor packs in my collection.

Yeah, I agree. It seems the turret is rotated backwards in fighter mode. At least they made it so it doesn’t cover the skull emblem, which was a peeve of mine in the armored 25. Come to think of it, I remember putting that on my wishlist for the armored 31. Hehe! What I’m interested in is what they put in place of the container pod. Looking at the pics, it seems the Tornado turret is attached onto the connector where the pod should be, although its attached from above instead of from below. If there’s nothing taking up the space of the pod, that’s going to look hollow in fighter mode, not to mention the stress it will cause the connector in the toy version having that huge tornado turret on it. EDIT: I think I got it. It looks like they deliberately took out the pod to make room for the thicker armored legs. Doesn’t solve the stress on the connector though.

Whoa! Arad's Armored 31 is obviously Kawamori-san's fan-service for the Stampede Valkyrie. I read in the Macross Delta Movie thread though that the armored valk had very little actual screen time in the movie? Nevertheless, I'm joining the "stampede" for Arad's valk and armor parts when the pre-orders open.

Any news on when the pre-orders for the Zeta Plus opens? I have a feeling that there’ll be a pre-order madness on that one, considering the current prices on the FAZZ. I’d like to snag a Zeta plus, since the Zeta’s are the closest thing Gundam has to a Valk. -
I relly like the fact that the 31’s supers don’t cover up the fighter’s emblems. The design of the 25’s super, armor, and tornado packs are cool and all, but they cover up Ozma’s skull emblem. I wonder if the new 31 armor pack will also end up covering Arad’s emblem?

Nice pics Lolicon! The color scheme of the Kai makes it more...mature looking. Like a true Ace's machine. It has all the colors of previous Macross Aces except Roy and Ozma's yellow. I wonder if the Kai would play a bigger role in the upcoming movie.

Well, Arad also had the standard super pack in the series, so Bandai will most likely release that. My guess is that the armored pack will be released afterwards. We don't know if Hayate or the others will be getting armored or other types of packs in the movie, like the tornado pack in the Frontier Movies. Knowing Bandai, there's even a strong possibility that a new valk will be introduced as well in the movie like the YF-29 Durandal. In any case, I'm already happy that they came out with an armored pack. Ozma's shadow is quite long.

NY still has my order at preparation in progress. I'm still surprised that I was able to get one given its exclusivity. Can't wait to see pics posted by MWers! I really hope Arad's is next...

I still don't understand the logic of releasing a common valk in another scale. I had thought that 1/60 had already become the standard. I know the VF-1 series are the smaller variants, but the Yamcadia 1/60 ver.2 showed that they can put a lot of detail in that scale. At 1/48 or bigger, this better have a removable and poseable pilot ala Diaclone for me to even get interested.

Wow, the Big Powered is really growing on me. I'm really tempted to get one, along with the extra bikes. I'm a sucker for toys that have removable figures and stuff. Unfortunately, getting the VF-31jKai from NY set me back big time for this year, and I need to give my wallet some breathing space. After that, its the Arcadia SDF-1 Premium, and Bandai will probably spring the other Delta Valks either before or after the movie comes out in Feb too. That's pretty much got my wallet booked. Its a cool toy nonetheless, and I congratulate you on its purchase! I'm sure you'll have tons of fun with it General Rasp! -
You do realize that a majority of us are going to get this for the ordinance rght? That’s enough loadout for the other DX valks.

Armored 31S Arad Custom! Boom! My prayers have been answered! And look at all those super pack equipped valks! Looks like this is going to be the usual re-telling of the series ala DYRL. I hope they'll tweak the story so that it'll be more engaging this time around. But I'm already sold on that Armored 31S! The armored pack and the inevitable blu-ray release of the movie are going to be instabuys for me!

I know this is long shot, but I’m hoping Arcadia goes a little bit further with the Premium and put luminescent paint apps on Macross City as well. Just something to break that monochrome look.

Nice! I love Sagat too! Too bad they took him out of SFV. I hope they have him slated for release as as DLC character later on. Aside from Gouki/Akuma, I really don't find the Season One DLC characters all too interesting. Speaking of Gouki/Akuma, I wonder why his Storm/Nauts Figure release got pushed back to November? -
