Hey all, I sent three or four email messages off in a few days to Tanmen asking for a status....and I got one! First email from him in 6 months..... Anyways..here is what it says...I can't translate it effectively...though it seems to say the Dragon is close and a lot of stuff about Iraq and tanks (it came with a picture of some resin tanks??? ) Anyways...if anyone can help translate it that would be appreciated. Dr Clay, while I understand your rant, I do think the Hase is totally unfair. I have said this before when people compare the Yamato VF11 to the Club M or SHE kit...or compare the Yamato 1/48 to the Club M Ultimate Strike. The Ultimate Strike blows away Yamato for detail. It has all the guts, engines, tubing, and internal details to the max. Speed breaks, flaps, tons of line are inspired detail....oh, and its a model. You dont touch it...dont do a thing but dispaly it....move it to much and pieces will break off. Its a $300+ kit, that still requires months of work to perfect...not counting supplies, tools, and skill. The Hasegawa VF0 just cost me $28. If the Yammie costs me $40...well, thats not bad at all...$12 more, and I have a completed toy. One I can transform, show my son...and display on my shelf. Would I like perfect transformation? Sure.....but I understand this is business...Yamato has to guage the market...they have to build some capital to invest more capital. Release the "Simple" version now...if it sells, test with an advanced version....etc. We all bitch that the 1/48 is to expensive...that the QRau is to pricey...and too small ( "I want 1/48" ) that the YF19 is taking to long, that the toys are coming out to quickly, that the parts can't be detachable, that the non-detachable parts break (VF11 hips! )...come on now...cut them some slack...they heard some of us...to pricey...so hear is a cheaper one...if we dont like it...then complain...but lets wait to see the final version, and lets compare on merit of it's peers....not models. I would have preferred perfect transformation...I would have prefered 1/60 scale....Ill give them the benefit of the doubt till I see it...even then...Ill buy it....at least one...Bandai isn't doing it...so its them...or their peers...and so far...they don't have any for M0. Love it or leave it...them's the breaks.

That's why you take the Der Fueher approach, scare them sh!tless about what will happen if they mess with your stuff. I've seen it done and it works. but for how long...one night you walk home and hear..."What are you doing...dad?" (ala 2001.... )
-
I can't believe that's possible either. I wonder if Macross 7 can incite online brawls there like it can here... LOL
-
0D..right?
-
Wow...I amazed...a board that b#tches more then us! Honestly...I can't be disapointed till I see it...and I suspect when I really see it (in person) it will look nice...and I wont be bothered by the cheaper price. While I would like it to scale with my 1/60's (or at least 1/72's) I'm betting that is a follow-up someday if they sell well....a perfect transformation varient...like the 1/48 line. This is all cool with me....worst case...I buy one...it sucks, I ebay it and go all Hase for M0...I doubt this will be the case. Other options? None...Yamato is the only game in town. Don't worry...be happy.

Jason!!! nice work! Very cool so far!
-
glad it comes with pilot and FP....they avoided the obvious 2nd version which is exactly the same, but with FP's...cool.

Kids are smart...often times smarter then you. As a result, no real answer for the young ones (minus Mikes Man Cave with lock) My answer..bribes....a steady stream of toys as payment for their compliance seems to work...
-
thanks for the pictures!
-
No early bird on the 1/60 armor parts kit! HLJ
-
that launch arm looks great...I only wish they had set up a way to hold a super or Strike from above...sigh...
-
man Jason...this is sweet....more more more please.
-
bit to gratuitous and harsh for my taste...
-
fingers crossed
-
You gotta know crusin in that he's gonna get some lovin tonight!

Considering I display my toys more thenp[lay with them...I dont mind having swapable pieces....if it makes it cheaper, and more resilent and look right sounds good... It seems the other alternative is 1000's of threads with people complaining the nose is too long in battroid, or too short in fighter...Ill take the swap over that...
-
thanks for the update and explanation Graham. Wow...still almost as big as the 11...well...its bigger then I thought. I am guessing that a benefit of doing the cheaper 1/100 is it might allow for an Ultimate say 1/72 scale version years down the line....I'm not asking for official word...just opinion...based on the success of the 1/48 line that would seem to make sense.
-
1/100?!? Hmm...from the huge 1/49 to the tiny...I think I would have preferred 1/60 or 1/72...but Ill cope. This means the Hase will be the biggest version available..

Patience young padewons....the Sith's ways are not fathomable by us mere mortals...
-
Nice! Now I need to buy that too...
-
Jung!!! Glad to see your doing customs again!!! Can't wait for more!

very nice set though....and it sounds like it will cost nearly that for the 1/48 M&M Ahh well...such is life.
