I still love WMChengs the most.

Okay...so...here is the deal. Rob has the models...we have good news and bad. Bad news is the Dragons don't come with decals or instructions. Good news is they do have white metal. While I'm not eccstatic about that I'm happy we got something and we will try and work on getting decals and instructions for the kits. Tanmen flaked out on us on one final item...shipping. His first emails clearly state we were buying shipping for everything, but now he doesn't agree with that. Anyways...Rob got the models, but no money to ship them to the US. So, I paid $90 out of my pocket to get them here to the US. So...here is my plan. I have a box with the Dragon kits that everyone is owed. In addition I got Tanmen to send us some extra Dragon kits and some Catseye kits. (the later were going to be "2nds" as the molds were dying...I need to check them out for quality) I am going to be offering these kits to people who are owed models first. If they want them for compensation they will get them. Obviousley, if the kits are worth less then what they are owed they will still be owed money, and if the kits are worth more they will owe money back (which I will use to pay other people owed money) Any that are not wanted I will sell to cover the money owed back to people and the shipping charges to the US. I am not intending on making a profit here, just breaking even...but if we do happen to make extra money I will divy it up as best I can. I have emailed with some people already...please don't bombarb me with PM's yet...I will be contacting the owed parties over PM this weekend first...once deals are finalized there I will post any kits that are remaining...if there are any remaining. Anyways...it seems like there is finally a light at the end of the tunnel...whew. One final thought...if we make extra money selling the kits (I'm doubting we will...but maybe) I thought I might offer to send it to Rob for all his hard work and or maybe commision Anasazi to do some Dragon decals for the Dragon kit owners...just thoughts. I think it's possible we will make a couple hundred dollars...so while thats only like $5 a piece for us it might be enough to split between Rob and Anasazi as a gift and a work fee. Think about it...Ill update as things go. Kits will most likely arrive end of next week...once I have them in hand Ill update again on quality and any quantity remaining. Thanks.

Nicely stated. -
I bet Yamato releases a similar version for sale in the not to distant future. Wouldn't make sense to get the paint scheme ready and not do that. This will be similar (IMO) to the TRU limited 1/60 CF...and then the CF that came later. Folks...we are looking at the next limited 1/48

Thanks for the heads up!

Very well done! Thanks for sharing pictures! Got any more pictures to share?

Excellent!

This is always such an interesting debate. On one hand, when you can get a Hasegawa kit for $25 or so it's hard to figure out why one would pay $150 for a resin kit, which is not a lot different or nicer. At the same time, as a modeler, (and not a collector) I want access too, and shared experiences on as many kits as possible. These two items lean towards cheap recasts for all. Yet...on the con side, if this happened all the time no small companies would make it and we would be left with less models. I guess, in general, some amount of ethics come into play.

AWESOME NEWS ROB!!!! THANKS!!!

Very nice work John!

Looks great Flash. I just wanted to chime in and give credit where credit is due. MSLZ22 did a ton of work on both kits, Grayson and VF1SAlpha donated the kits. Without those three GREAT members this cool kit isn't a reality. Big thanks to Grayson, VF1SAlpha and MSLZ22! You guys RULE!

man..I wish I could go. Great questions Graham! Maybe 2 more.. 1) What ever happened to the 1/60 Monster 2) Are any more 1/60 Destroids, or any mecha planned?

Well...for a quick update...I got the masters....first thought...WOW! the pictures don't do it justice. This baby has so many tiny details, panel lines, rivits,...its so detailed it will look great with the Hasegawa. I had not thought about it till I saw it, but any less detail and it would look wrong next the the mega detail the Hase has...but John has nailed it with this baby! I need to make two molds, which I will start tonight/tomorrow before I can get casting...but...considering the number of parts I need to make I think I will make some extra molds of pieces like the booster rocket. My hope is to spend this week setting up an "assembly" area. Get all the molds (and extras) done so I can pour a single kit very quickly. Ideally I will be ready to start making kits in a week and hopefully get them done fairly quickly. If I start going to slow I will get help. You all are going to love this baby! WOW!

Man this baby looks sweet. I'm expecting (hoping) to get all the materials today or tomorrow and start getting some kits ready asap. Y'all know I tend to not have a lot of time (and this week is no exception...septic goes bad on Monday, burst pipe (result of septic) on Tuesday, arc'ed out water heater on Weds..>ACK! ) But...barring any more rath of the heavens I will be rolling on these as quickly as I can.

I'd be okay either way. I prepaid for a kit, and would like to have one, but I will also buy the toy and could consider trying to customize and detail that over the model. (and yes, I assume they will be identical, or very close) So...based on that I would defer to Ken. Ken, if your worried about it selling, or are finding it hard to want to do more (only another caster can truly understand how much mold making can begin to suck the life from you) I would support you stepping away from it. (though I am worried about how much this endevour would cost you once you return the prebuys..can you swing it? ) If you still want to do it I will still be happy to buy my kit.

Hey Ken! Got any new pictures to share with us?
-
okay...so: 1) Whats the Mylene figure on the lower right? 2) Since when do other fighters "link up" with the VF0? COOL!
-
probably the main reason is time. The SHE kits (as well as most of the variable ones) often seem to have 100 parts or more...which is quite an endevour to mold, and alot of work to cast any number of kits. Once all the costs were figured in it would be hard to make them reasonably priced and harder still to do them. Plus, they tend to still be available if you look.
-
man oh man Carl...you know 'em all. We really need to update the models page someday for noobs like me who don't know all these kits exist...well...back to Yahoo Japan!
