You gotta share which ones you used. I have been going through the Squadron kits, but I'm not sure which are best!

I had only thought about kits...not updates. I am a total kit update whore! I love those kinds of things. I would love to see a whole battery of 1/72 scale kit updates. Some ideas. 1) The afor-mentioned VF1 cockpit update kits 2) VF1 fowler flap update kit 3) VF1 spoilers, aileron, and flexed control surfaces kit 4) Yf21 flexed control surfaces kit 5) VF1 and others electronics kit (not sure what to call it, but exposeable maintenance doors and guts details as visible on the Club M Tanmen kits for the 11, 19, 21, and VF1) 6) VF19 mod kit for the YF19 7) VF19 Soundbooster mod kit (actually available...but not to me! ) YF19 Two seater cockpit update kit 9) VF1 detached nose kit 10) 1/72 Scale Glaug and Pod cockpit guts kits (two build with pilot and cockpit exposed) 11) Enhanced detail FP kits for 1/72 scale FP kits (with internals visible or accessible)

I just this auction and felt the need to post a note and an apology. LINK This is an auction for the 1/7 Sara kit. I was one of the lucky folks to get this kit, and I promised to do a review of it. With all the work going on for the holidays, kids getting sick, snow storms, and work I just havent gotten to it yet. The readers digest version of my review is WOW! Great cast, very sharp, great detail, no bubbles, well packed, and wonderful shape. I am not certain if the seller of the auction is the kit creator, but I was struck that 100% of the final value of the auction is going to Tsunami relief. What a tremendously wonderful sentiment...truly. Ill try to get to my review ASAP, but please feel free to ask me any questions, and bid with confidence on this auction...its a very nice kit.

Prolonged exposure to the sun light WILL damage your monster. But any and all burns can be remedied with alittle ointment. ... This concerns me, because I planned on bringing my Monster out whenever anyone visited. Can I precoat my monster with some sort of "sheath" to protect it from anything harmful? -

So..to recap.. Everyone seems to like playing with their monster Some peoples wives, and friends also like playing with their monsters Some people agree with putting stickers on their monsters, but others prefer bare "naked" monsters Graham is worried that too much playing with your monster could break your monster, or at least elongate the small tube at the end of the monster Some people like their monster in the box, and some people like it out of the box. -
OH well..thanks Bariaburu Faita....I appreciate the information and the support. I guess I didn't understand what I thought I had heard from Rob and others. My mistake. Noel...good luck! Run fast, push down people smaller then you and get your hands on at least one of these babies!!!

IIRC Seichi contacted them before to arrange just such a transaction for the Koenig Monster resin kit. But doing so would be a violation of their limited licence. If word got out to Big West of another transaction like that they could loose the ablility to make any more Macross kits in the future. Which I think would be a big loss to variable resin kit fans worldwide. Understand...but from what I understand the limited license does not preclude them from buying more limited licenses (for other WF's) and they can sell some outside of WF as long as at least more then 1/2 are sold at WF. Youve had contact with them in the past...would you consider asking them? It would be a nice olive branch for them to extend to us.

I know we have heard in the past no 2 seaters would be available. They could change their mind...but I suspect not for a while.

Ive always said thats the difference (IMO) Club M, Orange Collection, Tanmen all seem to follow the line art and while similar seem to have a feel more akin to the cartoon. In a cartoon there can't be as much detail, and Ive always assumed there are little details left out of the line art that you would not see unless close up to the plane. In contrast, Hasegawa takes liberties to make it look more "real" for a great display model...but the realness does detract from some of the faniful cartoon feel. I don't think either is horrible. Nanashi's point is valid, but I don't feel it's a shame Hasegawa is doing the kits either...I love their detail and I love the final realistic look for the models. As for the ClubM, Orange Collection and other resin kits...I love their feel that seems to lend itself towards the original work. Either can be picked apart, but I feel both have merit, and are great artistic imterpretations for the original work. (and lets not forget the kits are readily available and 1/4 or less the price of the ClubM stuff (and thats after the market crash due in part to the availabilty of the Hasegawa kits. ) As far as the idea for adding detail for the sake of it...I understand and partly agree with Graham's point...but at the same time I recently went to the museam of air and space in Washington DC. I was taken aback by all the tiny details just on a rocket booster bell (from the X15) that I never noticed in any kit or picture. The technology is dumbfounding....I guess the reason I like the Hasegawa stuff is the bring some of this detail to life....right or wrong accurate or inaccurate it's an interpretation.

Looking good...keep us in the loop please.

It would be nice if Liquid Stone offered a special small sale to MW...anyone know how to ask them?

This is Macrossworld... We have no standards.... Isn't that a standard in itself....a lack of standard being the standard?
-
so...based on that...a Tamiya bottle now becomes a unit of measure. I like that!!!!!...instead of 1/18th scale...its "2 Tamiya" scale. the base of the scale being the height of a 6' human...so 1:1 scale is now (ballpark) "24 Tamiya" scale. Think of it...this is a huge breakthrough for us for ease...and a major marketing tool for Tamiya. Go forth and spread my wisdom oh Padewans...
