hurin, think you are referring to the 1/60 YF-19 with Fold Booster not the VF-0A shin variant as it comes with the Ghost booster. Im more for getting the SV-51 than that of the YF-19 giftset as it possesses reinforced transformation parts in the form of diecast and pom, as yamato has not released any solid news on the fixes for the YF-19, particularly on the neck hinge, gunpod and landing gear.

looks most excellent, wonders does CM sell the alpha fighter alone, as i wish to display one in battroid mode and the other in valkyrie mode with the tread. The mini cyclone armours and sword are a nice touch, wonder if they are prepainted as well?

call me a skeptic but im gonna to need confirmation on the transformation/locking pieces on the wings whether are those diecast parts and the hinge area, are they abs/pom plastic otherwise would have to sit this out till the next release, SV-51 Nora ver. Seems for the SV-51, yamato has incorporated alot of diecast parts especially for the transforming parts, which is a good sign. Hope this can be pass on to the VF-0A/S or the YF-19 as well. Altas, still have yet to hear from graham on the fixes for the YF-19 giftset, maybe i should consider skipping that too.

From the description, it seems that Aoshima announced that they will be selling Toynami's Masterpiece Collection 「Alpha Fighters〠re-branded as 「1:48 Shin Seiki Gokin Legioss〠toys in Japan. The blue Eta, red Zeta, and green Iota will hit Japanese shelves in late July at a retail price of 10,290 yen each. Im still holding out for the alpha/beta set from CMS even though its more EX Some comparison pics btw the former toynami ver and the ver by aoshima. Gosh, the colors are really distasteful, if yamato wishes to release something special for the 25th Anniversary 1/48 or 1/60, please do something thats nice and symbollic...for e.g. a minmay guard would be nice.

The angelbird look okie but not for the VF-1J Millia...maybe the landing gear was attached in a incorrect manner. Anyways would be getting these for display in my office..*zoom* Zoom

So far CMS has a good history of QC other than the first ltd GGGG, which was corrected in the mass production version. Its rest of of its brave releases seem to be pretty good as well, with almost zero QC problems. Pretty sturdy plastic was used, similar to that seen in bandai soc products. In regards to the legoiss alpha/beta fighters, i must say im quite impressed as its the first time i have seen panel lines done on their toy products. On a sidenote, wondering if CMS version have missile pods/compartment as compared to the toynami version? Ok just check the alpha battroid pics carefully, yes it does seem to have missile compartment on its thighs/shoulders. What im hoping next will be that CMS does minature yet combinable and transformable cyclone riders Something close to the scale of starwars figures

These magnet 1/144 series valks look real good..hell they even have pilots seating inside of the cockpit. Erm whats with the landing gear, as the valks seem to be slanting to one side

haha you cant blame me for it due to yamato records for not churning a perfect 1st version variant without any QC or design problems. Of cos i would love yamato to prove me wrong on the upcoming 1st version of SV-51, cos it is really a torment to see many other MWers enjoying theirs while i wait for a corrected version to be reissue.

Will still wait for the reissue or 2nd version as a precaution, it never hurts to see wait till the reviews are out cos you are paying a premium price for them.

As for the SV-51, thats really good news that yamato has decided to release it with all the overwing boosters, would there be a nora version as well with all the yellow markings tampoed on?

Lets not too carried away with the yamato bashing thingy ...like what graham said if you feel uncomfortable with purchasing a toy with defects, you can refrain from getting it till a corrected and improved version come along...like what im doing now. Afterall despite the lousy QC, some design errors, yamato have since from the beginning produce beautiful, transforming toys for the macross line. Even though they have been 6 years in the business, they would never of bandai's equal in terms of QC, design and plastics used.

Fully agree, i couldnt care less for the fold booster and yang figure as im only interested in the Fps. anyone interested to take the fold booster off mine?

Cool! Please dig as much info as possible in rgds to the SV-51. Do help us confirm about the improvements that are going to be incorporated in the upcoming releases for YF-19 and VF-0A. Plenty of pictures please!

Great news graham, a relieve for me in the sense that i have being holding for a fix by that of yamato. In addition, graham, could you suggest to yamato to also replace the grey plastic of the fuselage hinge with that of pom plastic too as it it seems some members have either experienced stress marks or broken pieces on their YF-19.
