  1. They are supposed to be released sometime in February. They're made by Megahouse and are part of their "Palm Action" series. Hopefully someone can come up with more info, I can't find any US retailers showing any info or preorders, in fact, I stumbled across the posted pic almost by accident...
  2. Here's a snippet I found on the net a while ago... They are "transformable", and fairly small, probably about 1/120 or so (~4" tall):
  3. It's really only bad from a straight-on view, which, due to the size of the figure, is not really a big deal. Shift your view a couple of degrees up or down, and it's a non-issue (kind of like the sides of a Yammie 1/48 ). The 1Js look great in gerwalk mode IMHO, but the fighter modes kind of uniformly suck across the 1/100 range, if you ask me, which you didn't I'll try to bring home a camera so I can get some more complimentary shots posted soon.
  4. I'm seeing the same as azrael notes above ^^ Not a big deal though. One thing I'm curious about: the VF-1J "Armored Valkyrie" entry has the same descriptive text in both the TV and DYRL sections... though in DYRL, Hikaru was piloting his 1A while the GBP is on screen. Should there be a more general text accompanying the DYRL entry? Aside from those minor quibbles, absolutely excellent work! I can see that I'm likely going to be spending way too much time there
  5. Your second idea sounds the better of the two
  6. This would be the likeliest prospect, I think.
  7. I'd be down for one set. NMB4Macross (Alex) is a straight shooter all the way, for anyone that hasn't already dealt with him.

Nah, that happened to my 0S too. I think I mentioned it in the original 0S thread.
  9. Hey guys, There's some kind of funny business going on in the "VT-102" thread, with an invalid site certificate popup that I keep getting on page 5 (attached image). Not sure if this is due to links in someone's sig, or due to hotlinked images, but seems like potentially bad juju. Hope this helps!
  10. Agreed, that's a very cool idea. I'll have a look around too.
  11. I was actually doing an inventory/spreadsheet of my stuff a couple of days ago... Looks like my to-date cost on Yammies is around $3285.00
  12. Other than the detail panels for BM1 and BM2 in ship modes, it is perfect transformation. One of the detail-up panels may actually be left on BM2, along with the tailfins on BM1, and still transform just fine. Gunbuster's back is a little kibbly if you leave it all on though. So, to answer your question, yes, both machines combine as they are supposed to. I'm really digging mine, and have a hard time leaving it alone I think this page was linked waay back in the thread, but it has some great pics of the detail-up parts installed and uninstalled: http://pony-hp3.web.infoseek.co.jp/CD-GUNBUSTER.htm
  13. I got my 1Js the other day, and I like them. If you can get them for the right price, these little guys are a lot of fun to mess around with and worth the cost IMHO. You can spend quite a bit more on a nice dinner than what a set of three of these will set you back. Comparisons to any Yamato, or virtually any other VF-1, save maybe Banprestos, are laughable at best - these are not high-buck, high-detail collectibles, they are nifty little toys that you can abuse without having cardiac arrest or brain hemorrhage in the event that one breaks. In that role, they excel. The joints on series 2 seem to be a little tighter than the last batch (or that may just be because they are fresh out of the box), the paint jobs are quite nice, and they do not have any of the silly raised skulls on the heatshields. For this reason, along with the nice paint, they really look better in Battroid mode than the first series does. I'd take some pics, but don't have a camera handy at the mo. If no one else steps up, I'll post some after Christmas.
  14. I also got 5/5 on the quiz, and I also suck apparently TOTY: Gunbuster Worst: MP Starscream (Choices were limited, and I don't have much affinity for the TFs, nothing personal though) ToyCrack: Revoltech Ingram
  15. That has been my impression as well. The fact that the city computer was able to "raise" the city for Hikaru and Misa hints at mobility of a sort. My theory is that in Zero, the island of Mayan is in fact either the ruins of Artela (Alternate continuity), or of a similar colony/ship. Fits with the legend told in story form at the beginning of the first few episodes...

Thanks for the info Pierre. Pictures might help us visualize your description though.
  17. Jenius is correct. The stock 1/60 stickers suck, and are difficult to get to affix properly to the heatshield without trimming or notching so that the edges won't peel up.
  18. Wow, really looking good Martin! Nice work! ...Just curious, but where ever will you put a 1/1000 Macross? Will it fit in your garage?
  19. MechTech, that's great! Very impressive. Looking forward to the next update
  20. Nice. Will try that myself
  21. I had one of those, I think mine was a Converter The center section of the main body was diecast. It was actually pretty neat, with the exception of those main gun booms...
  22. The problem with that is that the Legioss is very, very small in comparison to most Macross mecha. To make it in-scale with all the new Yamato stuff (1/60), it would be even smaller than it is now (the Alphas are nominally 1/55 according to Toynami, but some members here have calculated their actual scale to be somewhere between 1/55 and 1/48, depending on mode). A knock-em-dead gorgeous 1/35 would be really nice, and would display nicely with the new 1/60s and 1/48s. It would still be a little bit shorter in Armo-Soldier mode than any of the Yammies though.
  23. Just received my 0A, and fortunately no major issues to report. The paint application is way better than on my 0S, and the addition of the 'locks' for the feet is nice. The gunpod actually fits the pegs on the arms, and the handle on the pod is not too loose. The only negatives on this one are that there is still substantial casting flash in the auxilliary air intakes like the 0S, the left intake cover doesn't want to stay put in the nacelle, and there are still huge ugly swirl marks on both feet, just like the 0S.
  24. Fort Max, thanks for all of your exposition on the Gunbuster here . I feel that I will not be disappointed when I get mine, which I'm very excitedly and impatiently awaiting from BBTS.
  25. At some point, I think it would be neat to see a MW front-page feature of this bird. Especially with an SK endorsement.
