  1. The forum search won't quite pick it up, but there was also the Reds/ARII 1/24 fighter mode valkyrie, which has been discussed here at length... But good luck finding one!
  2. Wow. Really, really nice. Is the second to last Misa cel you mention from the sequence in Ai Wa Nagareru where she is rescued from the Grand Cannon?
  3. I'm basically trying to find a suitable replacement for the now-discontinued Motherboard Monitor software. MBM allowed me to monitor all of my voltages (CPU/RAM/VGA/MB etc), CPU and RAM frequencies, CPU and RAM usage, Fan speeds, and temperatures (CPU/VGA/HDD, etc) either through its applet, or in the system tray. It also offered the ability to send and receive sensor output to other software packages (for example; ATI Tray-Tools). All of the other software I've tried have various subsets of the above features, but none seem to be the all-in-one soultion that MBM was (though SpeedFan comes closest). I do overclock, and having all of my outputs readily available in one place really does help substantially. Mike, thanks for the suggestion on the drive-bay mounted monitor. I'm running a mid-atx case with 5x 5.25" bays, so installation wouldn't be an issue. I'm going down to Fry's today; I'll have a look around at what's on offer. Keep the suggestions coming, guys!
  4. I just put together a new rig and it works very well, but I have a question: Can anyone recommend a good hardware and temperature monitoring software? On my old computer (a P4 on 875 chipset) I used MBM5, which worked great. My new computer is an Intel E8400 on P35 chipset, and MBM is not an option. I've tried CoreTemp, RealTemp, Speedfan and several other programs, and none have quite delivered the all-in-one solution I'm looking for. Suggestions, anyone?
  5. A number of people in this thread seem to have made that connection, but I don't think that is correct. Ranka's cellphone is a pretty obvious caricature of whatever kind of animal that is. It's kind of doubtful that baby-vajra themed consumer electronic products are a big commodity on Frontier
  6. That, my friend, is the famous deaux-cheveau (2CV). One of the great accomplishments of French engineering. *cough*
  7. I enjoyed this one. The humor was maybe a bit over the top for a typical Macross production [when viewed from the perspective of a Macross hard-liner], but had me laughing throughout anyway. My advice to folks would be to lighten up a little and enjoy it for what it is. Laugh a little. It was cool to see that the VF-1 up on the roof of the academy was done up in Hikaru DYRL colors, complete with "011" squad number. As somebody else mentioned it was rendered very nicely, much like a Tenjin painting. It was pretty funny seeing Nanase attempting to peek around the corner of a wall to see what Sheryl and Alto were doing/talking about - she's just not built for stealth.
  8. Yes, I am dragging this one back in a shameless act of necromancy, but it is deserved. I had previously watched a handful of episodes several years ago, but for whatever reason had failed to get into the series - maybe because at that time, not all of the episodes had been fansubbed. Based partly on all of the rave reviews (and raving comments) here, I knew that at one point or another, I would have to give this series a fair shake. Accordingly, when I ran across a complete set of the Central Anime subs via bittorent many months back, I jumped on and dl'd them all. ...And man, am I glad that I did. You guys were all right. LoGH is absolutely stellar, and there is no way that I could have grasped its depth based on my initial watching of a few episodes. Despite the awesome scope and dizzying array of characters, LoGH also has an amazing degree of heart... Thanks to all here who have recommended it. I would strongly recommend this series to anyone who hasn't seen it.
  9. Almost none of my original stuff from the early '80s is still with me, other than a 1/55, a Gakken 1/35, and some old model kits. So, I'd have to say that the collecting bug only really hit me in '02 or '03 with my first Yammie purchases. I don't buy as much as a lot of the folks around here, but in the last five years or so I've accumulated about 150-odd pieces of vintage and modern plastic... Plus some model kits, books and videos.
  10. Spectacular. I really dig all of the DYRL, Mac Plus and Mac Zero visual reference going on. The creators of the show are performing an amazing balancing act - they continue to pay honor to Macross' history, without overstepping their bounds. Great stuff.
  11. They're probably the same guys who were hired to anchor the anti-grav motors on the Macross - "Yep, got 'em anchored down good. It's Miller Time!" j/k MT, great work as always
  12. It's a kickstand - it slots into a little receiver on the thigh armor
  13. Great, thanks W.A. As terrible as those little toys were, I still miss mine 20-odd years later
  14. I'm usually not too picky about such things, but even I noted some of the funkiness in the quality of art in this episode. That's not to say that I let it impact my enjoyment of the series - Frontier is rockin so far, so much is easily forgiven. I'd have to agree that it could have been a little more, but I'm not complaining When we hold this episode against a yardstick like Ai wa Nagareru, it's hard not to be a little disappointed. But remember, the series is still very young (!)
  15. Weight per se wouldn't matter, but additional mass would.
  16. Keep on looking for them - there are deals to be found out there. I got one on Ebay a couple of years back for $80.00, with everything included except the filmstrip. No one even bid against me for it.
  17. The M1 homage looks fairly true to its roots styling-wise - cool. The original M1 was indeed problematic in it's gestation and with regards to production issues, but purely as a machine, there's nothing actually wrong with it.
  18. Have you fixed your landing gear problem yet? I think I still have an extra left/rear unit around if you need one.
  19. Absolutely fantastic, MT. I'm continually blown away by your project and your execution. Thanks much for your continued updates, I really do look forward to seeing them!
  20. Notice the broken visor, ala one of Max's kills in DYRL? Wasn't much skin left on that one
  21. Yowza. Thanks!
  22. Man, this show really does just get better and better. Fantastic episode! I'm really pleased with the way that Frontier honors the previous series, without becoming overly derivative or predictable, and the fact that the creators are able to inject some great humor into the story without going too far off the deep end in terms of slapstick. They've really got the spirit of the franchise right with Frontier, and I'm stoked to get a new episode every week.
  23. So I'm not the only one... I once had this terrible nightmare that my girlfriend had THOSE EYES. Truly frightening.
  24. Ooooh. Now we're talkin. misterryno, the modder made the chest intakes bigger, and it looks like he has done some mild resculpting to the head. I didn't spot anything else right off, but it's already looking a lot better.
