  1. A few years ago, here in the LA area, I was stuck in traffic behind a red Toyota RAV4 with a license plate which read "MINMAY".
  2. Here's my bit of fan speculation: It would be rather poetic if Brera were to be the one to take out Grace in the end - "Quit it with that tasp button already, you... you witch!". Of course, he would become mortally wounded during his struggle with G. We could have a protracted, melodramatic scene wherein Ranka attempts to drag his damaged body to an escape shuttle, while Brera's life ebbs. A tearful heart-to-heart dialog ensues... "There's still good in you!". And then... Ah, stuff it - It's been done. Can't remember where, though. Good episode, I enjoyed it very much.
  3. Sure would be nice if updated replacement arms/parts would be made available independently. There are a lot of Zeros out there that are currently useless junk. I have one of them.
  4. Oddly enough, it's actually rumored to be substantially marked down. Whooda thunk it? Lots of discussion of this in the old thread.
  5. Ahh, interesting, thanks Ray!
  6. This might answer your second question (I've no clue about the first): IIRC, the last time that these were posted here, there was some discussion that perhaps the Matsushiro patents relate only the "ornamental design" (or paint scheme) of the toy, as stated on the patent/application posted above. It might then make sense that they also applied for the same patent for the Dorvack version of the Calibur. Though there should logically be a patent sheet somewhere for the Ovelon Gazette too...
  7. The way your question is phrased, it's a little hard to follow - are you talking about the position of the head in fighter or battroid mode? The [ver. 1] 1/60 VF-1Js all had kind of loose pivots at the neck, and they would tend to flop around a little in fighter mode. They'll usually stay put (well enough for display, anyway) if you push them in toward the body/fuselage and forward a little.
  8. Thanks for the heads up, UN Spacey. Could be a winner.
  9. Just take a look at the weekly Frontier episode threads here for evidence of this - most of the posters seem to be newly reg'd. I'd say that it's definitely brought new people into the fold, at least here at MW. I'd have to imagine that the same is true in the domestic market.
  10. A Lancia Delta HF model, with Ozma markings, would be welcome.
  11. That made me laugh. Awesome. That is the way forward. Thanks
  12. Beautious. Just beautious.
  13. Here's another scan by way of Toys Daily. I'm not sure if this is a new one to the board here. *Edit - Whoops, that's the 1/72 model. Sorry folks, my bad. Attachment removed *
  14. That looks interesting. It appears to be a fixed fighter-mode valk (note that there are no apparent backpack, tailfin, or hatch hinges/openings), but that parting line at the interface of the chestplate and backplate is curious. Thanks for the scan!
  15. While the economics of the Macross universe are interesting in an academic way, the thing that has always given me pause for thought is the logistics of waste-management. Yuck.
  16. The MH Ride Armors look a lot better in armor mode when you remove the epaulets from the shoulders of the rider figure - it allows the shoulder armor pieces to sit a few mm lower and really evens out the look of the shoulders. I just got my payment request from VE, so hopefully I'll have my Yellow here soon. I'll definitely do the chest mod posted by Sped a few pages back - that really makes a big visual improvement. Thanks all for posting up the new Beagle promo pics. The stand accessory looks cool. That sucker will be mine.
  17. I have the Namitoy Beta preordered as well. With my luck, I'll have it 2-4 weeks after everybody else has had it in their hands. We'll see what happens.
  18. Check out the second pic in MT's update - the bastard file and razor blade are pretty good indicators. That thing is frikken huge! Great update, MT! Cool anecdote about the 20 too!
  19. I vote Grace. While Kaifun was indeed thoroughly despicable, Grace manages to be even more unlikable, despite being quite good at her job (whatever it actually is).
  20. Wow. Just wow. Phenomenally bad taste. It's probably got a 6-cyl. Wasn't one of the virtues of the original that it was (slightly) stealthy in appearance? The Camaro-based concept looks a million times better IMHO. BigF, wtf is that in your post? A Princess or one of its ill-bred brethren?
  21. Generally speaking, no, not without mods. The 1/60 CF in both TRU and regular flavors do not have the holes in the legs to accomodate the leg pieces (they do have holes there, but they are the wrong diameter and are not symmetrical from one leg to the other). Also, the CFs do not have the slots in the backpack assembly to fit the booster packs. Some mebers have modded theirs to fit, or have used double-sided tape to mount them on the "early" valks - this includes the VF-1A Hikaru, VF-1S Roy (non-Strike), and the VF-1A Max.
  22. The figure proportions are a little funny, yes, but it all makes up for it in armor mode, IMHO. Can't wait to get mine in from VE.
  23. How about some woodgrain cladding?
  24. I agree about the smaller Mu robots - they are the one weak point, design-wise, in the series IMHO. They are at the same time, the most evil/threatening of anyone. Go figure.
  25. Alright, who posted neutral? *Cracks knuckles*
