  1. You could remove the cloth and mod the figure on yours as EXO's done. Assuming of course that you actually have a Beagle or are thinking of buying one. I highly recommend picking one up if you have the means; it's so choice.
  2. Az is right, az usual I guess I could have stated my post a bit more clearly too - it's not just your video card memory which affects XP's RAM count, it's the combined total memory of any and all PCI/PCIE cards you've got slotted in. You guys get the gist of it though.
  3. Sources vary in terms of absolute memory which XP 32-bit supports, but generally Win32 is limited to recognizing about 3.5GB of installed RAM. No such limitation exists in a 64-bit OS. The absolute amount of RAM that XP32 will detect and use will have to do with how much video memory your video card has onboard - XP32 "reserves" a certain block of physical memory for GPU access, and this "block" is dependent on the amount of RAM present on the video card. With 4GB RAM installed, and with a 512MB video card, XP should see ~3.5GB. If you were to use a video card with 1GB memory, Win XP32 will see 3GB installed RAM. Again, no such limitation exists under a 64-bit OS.
  4. Don't let the tire-kickers get to you, Save. For all of their incessant nit-picking and whining about arbitrary details, they'll still line up to buy the toys... Or at least, so I'd hope.
  5. reddsun, Awesome pics from VIR. The yellow '02 you've commented as being "really fast" belongs to my friend and customer "Bob" out of Raleigh. I've more than a passing acquaintance with many of the bits on that car.
  6. That's pretty rockin, Kensei. Veddy nice. I would think about getting a larger monitor than that 22" job. You've got enough video muscle to drive a 30", and it is either at best a waste, or at worst a blasphemy to leave that hardware so understressed.
  7. Great pics, Dante. The Maserati in the first pic is the venerable 3500GT. I've always had a soft spot for them. The car you guessed was an Alfa is actually a Bizzarini GT, so you did get the nationality right. Bizzarini was one of Ferrari's engineers in the late '50s/early '60s, and did a lot of the development on the original 250 GTO. He and Enzo had a falling out (coinciding with many of Ferrari's other engineers leaving the company), so Bizzarini went to ISO, an Italian industrial firm which was making inroads to car manufacturing at the time. Bizzarini developed the ISO Grifo as a direct competitor to the GTO for endurance racing, using a lot of the same engineering techniques which he employed in the design of the GTO. After producing the Grifo as a race car and a street car (and a couple of other models) for a while, ISO gave up the car business. Bizzarini made an agreement wherein he was able to continue production of the Grifo, under his own name - thus the birth of the Bizzarini GT. The Grifo and the GT both used Ford V8 engines and driveline parts. I have some neat pics of one of these cars from the Monterey Historics from a couple of years ago... I'll see if I can fish them out.
  8. There are special mouse pads available made especially for use with optical mice. These have a differentiated pattern to help the mouse "read" better. Some are conventional fabric-faced. and some are "slick" plastic faced. My computer desk is glass-topped, so a mousepad is absolutely necessary. I use an X-Trac Pro with my MX610.
  9. Totoro and EXO are right. I've been guilty of posting unnecessarily in both circumstances noted, and very recently too. It is disruptive behaviour. I'm sorry for that, and will not do it again. Thanks guys.
  10. TH2Go is just about the only "basic" solution available. Before you pop for those monitors, you might want to read my buddy Joe's very in-depth article on TH2GO Digital Edition here: http://www.simhq.com/_technology2/technology_121a.html I'd also recommend reading his article on the previous version of TH2Go here: http://www.simhq.com/_technology/technology_065a.html The combined horizontal resolution of 3x 22" monitors is almost certainly going to exceed the TH2Go's max horizontal resolution of 3084 pixels, and will result in you having to downscale the image. Whether that will be a big problem or not will depend on how picky you're going to be about it.
  11. I have to say that I like the interior of the Scirocco posted above. It appears very "old-school" Teutonic in nature. Not a big VW fan, but I have to give them props.
  12. It depends on what you're after. The absolute fastest single-card/single-GPU solutions come from Nvidia currently, but the $$ to bang ratio usually comes out in favor of AMD/ATI (at least, at the moment). I don't really follow the dual-GPU/dual-card hardware much, but the two big vendors are pretty close to parity right now, for the most part. I picked up one of the new ATI 4890s a couple of weeks ago, replacing my G92 8800GT. The benchmark numbers come within spitting distance of the Nvida GTX280, and at a much nicer price. The GTX 275, which was launched to compete with the 4890, pretty much trades punches with it in every bench. As far as single cards go in the $250-ish range, you can pretty much choose your color and go for it.
  13. BTW, great pics Dante. Looks like you had a good time there. Party on bro.
  14. Nope, that's the Assen GP circuit in the Netherlands... The name of the track is visible in one of the pictures you quoted. Laguna Seca is in the California wine-country, is surrounded by brownish hills, and rarely hosts European truck races.
  15. I think that MT is way ahead of you MT, you continue to amaze. Seriously.
  16. The S2000 is a great car, nice pickup BB. It looks like you're pretty local to me. If you need any performance work done I can hook you up with my buddy, who is a pretty well-known tuner for those cars.
  17. A minor point, but Dean was killed in a 550 Carrera (with the 4-cam engine). Similar to the 356, but not a 356.
  18. Your Luca looks great Honkhet, really clean build. Thanks also to all you other guys for posting your WIP pictures. There will be lots of things I do differently on my 25G and Luca (when they get here) thanks to you guys. Cheers!
  19. Are you kidding me??!! Bzzzzzzt! This is what I have: http://www.hanaho.com/Products/HotRodJoystick.php It doesn't get much more "real arcade" than this, especially for fighting games. I got mine in '01, and it's still holding up strong. Then there is also the X-Arcade, here: http://www.xgaming.com/tankstick-arcade-game.shtml If you really wanna go nuts, you can go here: http://arcadecontrols.com/arcade.htm
  20. I can't speak for veffidas, but what you say definitely jives with the boks that I've owned. Thanks for the info.
  21. I'll chip in to also say "Great Job" guys! They look beautiful. I've got my Alto pretty much finished, and just keep chipping away at small details as I get the time. These "models" really do look great, and are a godsend for the less talented modellers among us (ie; me). I have a Luca and a Michael on the way, along with some action bases for the lot of them. I don't know that I'll get the Ozma anytime soon, somehow the S model just doesn't grab me. At some point or another, I'll post up some pics. Party on.
  22. Yep. I'm a wimp, alright It's not exactly from another toyline, but here's my attempt at a Beagle interaction, also previously posted in another thread:
  23. Kind of. What happened to the bloke in the vid is that he abruptly lifted off the throttle to try to check his speed. The resulting weight transfer made the rear end "light" (especially as there appeared to be a little undulation right there on the track), and the car rotated in the direction of his steering input. With all of the runoff area he had available, the wiser action would have been to go straight off the track. This is the number one point that driving instructors try to get across to their students during high performance driving schools and track days - if you're going to go off the surface, go straight. I've been guilty of the exact same mistake myself in the past (turn 5 at Willow Springs)
  24. Ernst mentions above that the models are for Flight Simulator 2002 (FS8). FS9 was the '04 version. Ernst's models look great! Thanks for posting them here!
  25. N2O has been around in automotive circles for quite a lot longer than 11 years... And ANYTHING is better than the utter lameness that is Fast & Furious.
