  1. Now that I think about it, I wouldn't be surprised if Bandai suddenly announces in June or July that Michael or Luca will come out in September, and the other one will arrive late December. Something like that.
  2. Ooh! I hope Tokyo Hunter sends me my set soon then!
  3. I expected an announcement on the other remaining Messiahs, so yeah, generally I'm surprised at how Bandai has handled everything. At this point in time, I've tried to put the 171 out of sight, out of mind, so I am pleasantly surprised by the time Summer comes around.

    Retail prices

Yeah, if you missed the preorder windows, you pretty much have to a) pay the higher prices if you want one, or b) wait for a rerelease, which may or may not happen, and even when it happens, you have to be there to order during the preorder window. The YF-29 was rereleased almost a year later and the preorder for the re-release lasted all of a few minutes before it sold out. My recommendation is that for these renewals, they are not worth $300 + shipping. The most I'd be comfortable paying is maybe $200 - $230 range. Every once in a while deals will come up. You just have to watch online boards like a hawk.
  5. Maybe. It should. But places like eBay are strange. Some sellers refuse to budge and they'll hang onto something at a specific price until they die.
  6. Yes, what treatment said. Wait for the new release. I'm looking to buy a second one, so I'm waiting also.
  7. You're right. It's worse. Eh, to each their own. I personally found M7 to be unwatchable. And I've watched some pretty terrible stuff. I do love the mech designs, which is why I bought the latest M7 valks. The 17 is in my top 3-5 valk toys ever.
  8. Most likely because the sale wasn't that great.
  9. Good advice. Actually, the next few months looks great for me: April - VF-1D, VF-25F Super Parts May - YF-29. June - VF-171EX July - VF-25S Armour Parts.
  10. Um... is it June yet?
  11. The past 12 months have been amazing for Macross. Really looking forward to the rest of the 2012 releases. My wallet will be sad, but I will be happy. I now absolutely NEED a CF version. I don't care if it's a Tamashii exclusive. I need it!
  12. I love that canopy colour.
  13. Post a want ad. Maybe someone who has one of the earlier v2 releases with the fubar'd joints will give you one from their broken valk.
  14. Sexy. I am so glad I preordered this beast. Amiami better not let me down. (They never have in the past, don't have any real reason to think they will fail me other than paranoia.)
  15. Both amiami an HLJ are pay later.
  16. Same. I have ordered from Amiami more times than I can count. I always get the packing paper or the cardboard frames.
  17. Easy pass. The colour scheme just doesn't do anything for me.
  18. For the VF-25S, Amiami charged me 3200 yen for EMS. Keep in mind I am in Canada. Total was 13350 yen.
  19. Still as beautiful as the first time I laid eyes on it. So glad I have a 171 coming my way.
  20. Yeah, quick google search shows they have bad reviews. Lots of them. I wouldn't touch them with a ten foot pole.
  21. Which makes this a classic MW thread.
  22. This is what I do, as I suspect most do as well. For example, with the renewals, I have the 25F in fighter, 25S in battroid (soon to be with armour once that is released) and if Michel and Luca's valks ever get released, one of them will be in gerwalk. To be fair, eBay has been a good resource for me over the years. With patience, deals can be found, and I have had to rely on those scalpers in the past. So in a way, they do provide some sort of service. You just have to weigh what a toy is worth to you. For example: instead of me spending time and gas driving around to hunt down all the toys from a certain wave, I prefer to just hit up ebay and pay a bit extra to get everything delivered to me. It's just that it's easier to pay a few bucks more for a $10 item, than it is to pay, oh, $150 more on a $150 item, haha. That said, if that's your only choice, then so be it. It is what it is. Personally, I'd rather be able to pay my mortgage or save for retirement than pay double what a valk cost at retail. That's kind of why I don't collect vintage valks. I just don't think it's worth it.
