  1. Yeah, there's a 1A.
  2. Haha, yeah, France is a bit far, but I appreciate the offer!
  3. Spot on was probably not the right words. Yeah, mine still have the gaps where the transformation occurs, but I was more concerned with colors bleeding over, etc. My beef with the valk is not the paint, which I still think is fine and what I expected - I expect imperfections from a mass produced toy - but with the bent plastic piece I talked about. I already posted this pages ago, but I figured I'd post it again. That left side is bent down. Doesn't impede on the transformation or anything, but it is still bent. I guess it's nothing like the hip bar snapping or anything, but it was something I noticed. Can't fix it either, since that piece looks like it was actually chewed on by the world's tiniest mouse. Don't know how it ends up like that, but whatever.
  4. Yay! Got my Kai + Sound boosters today. Preliminary inspection looks good. Can't wait to get it home and start playing around with it. That red sure is something, though. Wow.
  5. Note to self: Do not buy toys from Graham, since he spends time in the bathroom with them...
  6. The paint on mine was spot on, but a tiny piece of plastic on the chest piece came bent in the box. Unnoticeable if you aren't looking for it, but it happened anyway. I'd say Bandai still has a ways to go on the QC department.
  7. Good thing I don't care about Gerwalk mode then. To me Gerwalk mode is definitely important, but only to the point where they get it mostly right, which I think they did here for the most part. And I agree with jenius, that pathetic and awful are descriptions that are apt in describing the DX v1 VF-25s, since they couldn't pull off the basic stance without substantial cheating. I know it's all subjective, but to use those words to describe the 19s is a bit dramatic. Also, with Gerwalk, the best way to appreciate it is with a stand. I didn't care for Gerwalk until I got a stand to pose it on and now I appreciate that mode more than I did in the past. Cause really, that mode is the silliest of them all from an outsider's perspective, with the arms and legs sticking out of an airplane body, but animated, it looks awesome, especially in the newer animes like Frontier, where the movement is so fluid. Obviously Gerwalk is essential in defining the difference in Macross from other transforming robot shows, and I still think Yamato did a great job here.
  8. When did it break? How many times had you transformed it before it broke?
  9. Me too. This is the only one I would be interested in.
  10. I'm not, but I'm sure a bundled release is in the future. I just don't expect them to announce one until the Armor set is announced and released as a web exclusive first.
  11. For sure. But, I still handle mine with extreme care even though I know logically if it is flawed from the beginning, it's only a matter of time before it snaps. It's a shame. Though really, I've only heard of two breakages amongst what, thousands of these toys being sold? I guess we'll see if in six months more breakages occur...
  12. I get that general response with most of my Macross collection. Whenever my friends walk into my toy room, the jets are the show stopper. But they also like the GI Joes too, ha. I'm going to have to get a 19S if I end up liking the Fire I ordered. I should get the Fire by Monday/Tuesday. Stupid weekend... First world problems, AMIRIGHT?!?
  13. Yeah, it'd be like doing a review of the VF-25S. You know what the VF-25F renewal is like. It's pretty much the same thing. I think at this point, photos are enough once someone has seen a Kai review.
  14. You definitely have a point. I have Transformers that have survived for years with no issues still. I've had my VF-27 for a fraction of that time and it is a floppy mess now. forever it will now stay, in fighter mode.
  15. That swing bar potentially breaking is the reason why I take 20 minutes to transform this valk every single time. On mine, one of the legs are so tight and moving the bar is so hazardous, I am afraid I would snap it at any moment. Paranoid? Yes. With good reason.
  16. Yeah no kidding. I'd flat out tell him it wasn't any of his business and it is not his property to tamper with.
  17. HLJ sometimes takes days to send out confirmation email of product mailed. I've had it take within 24 hours, and I've also had it take nearly a week. Don't sweat it
  18. Just read the VF-25F renewal reviews. It'll be the same valk, only different head and paint for the most part.
  19. For all you model kit builders and painters: I'm thinking of picking up the Fan Racer. Now, I don't normally build kits or paint or anything of the sort. (Putting the little plastic bits on the SDF-1 nearly drove me nuts). But I really want a Fan Racer, so here's some questions: 1) Does the Fan Racer need glue, or does it snap together? If it needs glue, what sort of glue? 2) I'm not the best with painting, especially staying in the lines. Could I use something like painters tape to help keep lines straight, just like painting a room? 3) Can I just go to my local hobby store and buy the generic stuff? Nothing special needed, right? 4) What kind of paint do you recommend if I want a shiny / glossy paint job? (or do you not recommend glossy?) 5) How long did it take you guys to build and paint it?
  20. Got notification my order for my 19 already left the country of origin. Awesome. Probably get it by monday. I also got my Yamato stands from HLJ yesterday. So much cooler than the Flight Pose stands in terms of posing. But also so much more expensive. I'm saving one stand for the 19. As for the sound boosters, they indeed are silly, but they look so cool, and I like to pretend they are cannons instead of speakers. After all, these are toys, and I used to make-believe crap all the time as a kid. So why not cannons?
  21. Looks gorgeous. Wish I had the money for it, but with the VF-25S coming in January, and since I'll be getting two of those as well, I have to save.
  22. Me too actually. Wouldn't have cost me anything additional to ship really since I already had a POL going at the time. Looks like they have the TV blue and white version as a preorder, but I think I'll hold out to see how I like this one, and maybe even wait for a sale.
  23. So just what color is this thing? The black/yellow, or that odd blue-black/yellow?
  24. That's pretty much why I bought one: at $9, I can afford a regult paperweight. Should display nice enough on the shelf next to my VF-1s. Considering a 1/60 scale regult is out of the question, both in terms of $$$ and space, this will have to do for now.
  25. Jeebus. Reminds me to be careful with mine when I take it out of the box...
