  1. I third this and then I suggest even Arjuna. Hate the anime, but the OST rocks. FV
  2. Well, in Gundam 00 they needed 832 MS to capture 4 gundams (it was a battle that lasted for several hours)... and they failed when 3 more gundams came in. FV
  3. Scarcity of resources -> price inflation -> poverty. As far as I can guess. FV
  4. Probably long range folding. Since it takes more and more energy the longer the fold goes, they need something big to travel far. FV
  5. You didn't think the VF-19 didn't have a Lego prototype too, did you? Anyway, my 2 cents: the VF-27 as a Battroid is very similar to the VF-25. As a Fighter it is a cross between a SV-51 (nose and canards) and the Blackbird (wings). Basically it is a further development of motifs from Kawamori's enemy mecha, either in Battroid or in Fighter: the Elgerzorene and Sturmzorene from Air Cavalry Chronicles, the Elgerzorene from Macross 7 and the SV-51. FV
  6. Morgan stream switcher can help you FV
  7. I think these days if you have an all male squad it pays off due to female viewers. FV
  8. SEED and SEED Destiny, despite their flaws, revitalized Gundam's popolarity in Japan. In terms of rating Gundam 00 was around 4/5% of share. Plus the first series of Gundam 00 is already ended, and the last episodes obviously have a lot of climatic fights, memorable deaths and what else. It will take a while to beat that. FV
  9. I don't think black is a traditional color for evil in Japan. Usually a couple of rivals is white and red. In mecha anime though black and secondary colors (purple, green, orange) are evil. I think purple, being similar to red, is considered more evil than black. A scene which was in the OVA but not in the movie. And there is also the first episode of Macross Zero. But I think you misunderstood: since in Macross most mecha are stealth, they have developed some countermeasures for it. You forgot Dynamite's purple VA-3M. Well, the head doesn't turn 180° when transforming. Aside from this, in the original preproduction sketches for the YF-19, YF-19's nosetip was folded down instead of pointing forward. FV
  10. You are talking about episode 4 when the lone Vajra destroyed part of a Zentradi battleship? Well, a Zentradi battleship is bigger than a human frigate to begin with. That ship was a 2000m long Thuverl-Salan, whose reactors also ceased to function long time ago (probably even this plays a part). The human frigates are around 300m long. It may be arranged more than staged. That is, many civilians could have really died. Which was a throwback to M7's FZ-109 Elgerzorene The Elgerzorene even had an experimental blaster that could down ships. FV
  11. -Missiles are probably in the same place of the VF-25, although up to now it is only a speculation this place is the legs. There is something that looks like an exit port in the calves. -From shots of the back I noticed the shield on the arm does not form a bodyflap in Fighter mode like the VF-11/19/25. I suspect the whole shield is detachable and becomes some kind of weapon, probably something like a trident. -Although an asteroid blocked the hit, the VF-27 could actually have some kind of beam coating. FV
  12. Is it me or that's a mugen punch? Probably it doesn't have a gunpod at all as a standard equipment. Anyway, I can withstand the idea of melee weapons, it's just that swords, despite being effective, are kinda unoriginal in anime (even knives are not rare since Evangelion). I thought a chainsaw on the edge of the shield would have looked cool. FV
  13. It was mentioned somewhere that, since the VF-25 has such a smooth transformation, it would become the basis for further VFs. In episode 6 if you check the prologue there are specific names such as "Warp Bubble" and "Warp Shield". FV
  14. The one I remembered was when Roy and Hikaru talk about Minmay, and Roy hit him with the elbow (2nd episode of SDFM) I think that Vajra could be an experiment which DIDN'T go wrong. They could be created as a lifeform programmed to invent new technology on their own to be reversed engineered. That or they came from another galaxy FV
  15. I thought there could be a possibility that Vajra came from another galaxy. FV
  16. Even though the series was poorly animated, many sequences of SDF Macross were memorable. How can you forget Hikaru VS Britai, Daedalus Attack... even Max VS Milia TV was good. FV
  17. Sheryl was just teasing, it's a game people play for fun. Nanase lost because she was put on the defensive FV
  18. Actually though enemies in Macross always moved like that, ie: Queadluun Rau, Ghost X-9 FV
  19. VF-27D Shiznit FV
  20. No Tomanase, but all other characters are covered -Let's go find my panties! -Why are we wearing a costume too?!? FV
  21. Yup, there was definitively an Aquarion feeling FV
  22. Unisex is a better word. We didn't even know he was a guy at first Future has pushed gender equality a bit too far I wonder if he can shoot his fingernails like Klima claws It's slapstick armor FV
  23. They are tsundere, a Japanese character archetype . They are combative in the beginning and then they turn more loving in the end. Actually, Asuka seemed like she was supposed to end like this, then around midseries Anno changed his mind and Asuka kinda became the opposite, a yandere (as seen in The End). (tsundere and yandere are part of "gap girls", girls that goes from an extreme to the other. This is Japanese version of bipolar disorder ) FV
  24. No, that was a plot scene. He discarded all weaponry to prove he had trust. I think that probably he could even remote control his VF-27 since he has parts of the control interface in his brain. Scientist did experiments implanting microchips in the brain of chimpanzees. After a while they learned how to control a third robotic arm like they were born with it. The brain is a fast learner. FV
  25. I think there was one, episode 39. Anyway, this episode was really funny even without subs FV
