  1. There must be a sherylfag on the team Even in Wikipedia somebody alters summaries of next episodes to include Ranka's death Young kids, these days... FV
  2. It could be that they were already resistant to bullets and missiles because of this reason, the clash with the 117 research fleet. FV
  3. Thanks for your work, it is very appreciated. I would like to give you a suggestion, though: why not release a further script adjusted to the timing of MBS raws, for those who downloaded the first raws that come out? This is also an issue on the use of h264 encoding, which is tough on some computers. Those who release MBS raws do so in various formats and resolutions. I ask you this thinking you could have some way to do it in very little time. FV
  4. I checked, but I think these are just statics when some electronic thing is damaged. Check when a Vajra hit the right arm instead, there is some kind of flat yellow explosion which maybe was actually meant to be the force field. Episode 13 also is interesting: Brera hits a yellow Vajra and the beam is deflected by some kind of red field (it's the hit that strikes the queen). Possibly is kind of technology related to ECA that Vajra copied. FV
  5. I think those are not the anti-missile defenses you believe, meaning that they actually destroy missiles. They are probably simple chaff. Switching to another kind of guidance system (ie: infrared) should have made them useless. FV
  6. DON'T! Please. Pretty please. Sorry for my nitpicking, but I actually made only one question in the post you replied to Not that such trifles can actually befuddle a Logic McSocrates like yourself anyway Now that you make me notice I think you are right. I mean, look here what I wrote just two days ago: I think Ozma won't die this week but the next one, because Pineapple Salad was ep. 18. Today I wrote On the downside, this episode maybe can't be appreciate enough without having seen the original series and suddenly it looks like I know nothing of Macross. I just fired my PR, he sucks Dude, chill out. Sometimes being a hero is about letting others being heroes in your place. Take lessons from Captain Wilder And guess what? There was actually a Global in that episode! What I was asking is where was the goodbye, and I was answered by Gubaba. Thanks Gubaba FV
  7. And it's just come out. These are very good numbers. Only few thousand copies more and we can top the most popular series of the last years. Code Geass and Gundam 00 don't have sequels, they have second seasons. The distinction must be made because they were already planned to be extended. Gundam 00 was 52 episodes from the start, Code Geass was trying its luck and got bingo. Macross Frontier feels too tightly scripted to have a further season, but it can always have alternative retelling movie/OVAs. Personally I am against a second season for Frontier, for a very simple reason: next timeslot available is likely to be a year later. How can I wait another year to know how Frontier ends? FV
  8. I've seen all series of Macross. Actually, I've seen (and loved) everything Kawamori has done You lose credibility points for referencing Robotech in a Macross board, you Mr. 4 posts What I was asking is what meaning has the title if in the episode Ozma didn't kick the bucket. I was just assuming I missed it because I don't speak Japanese. FV
  9. In fact the last episodes of Frontier got me worried. Ep. 15 was directed personally by Kawamori, but ep. 14 and 16 were kinda plain. Still enjoyable and with good mecha action, did their work nicely and all, but kinda void of direction tidbits. I feared Macross Frontier in its final arc was becoming predictable, with little concern for side characters and blatant run-of-the-mill homages This episode proved me the Frontier is still awesome. Besides the whole pineapple in your face thing, characters are shown to be intelligent. Michael is still suspicious of the pill, I think I've heard heard Ozma talking about Grace hacking using her implants, Ozma recognized Brera, and Sheryl now is about to confront Grace. It's wonderful how the villains are getting discovered despite their plans. On the downside, this episode maybe can't be appreciate enough without having seen the original series By the way, someone knows why this episode is actually called Goodbye Sister? I missed that FV
  10. I said it first We need Battroid Monster. Absolutely FV
  11. Read the page I gave you, at least The main laser, located in a turret on the aircraft nose, is fired for 3 to 5 seconds. Current plans call for each 747 to carry enough laser fuel for about 20 shots, or perhaps as many as 40 low-power shots against fragile TBMs Isn't this the same thing you do with the gunpod? Wasn't the aim and instant shot down the advantage of the laser over the gunpod? The athmosphere always weakens every kind of beam. I still haven't heard of a way to make air disappear. FV
  12. He is a fansubber of a group called gg Check the thread about fansubbers, he started posting there. FV
  13. No. Even Aquarion got a new OP late, but it lasted 26 episodes. The best you can get is a 26th episode, but even that is doubtful since this series is centered around the number 25. FV
  14. Wikipedia can give you some useful information in the page of the ABL: The ABL system uses infrared sensors for initial missile detection. After initial detection, three low power tracking lasers calculate missile course, speed, an aimpoint, and air turbulence. Air turbulence deflects and distorts the laser beam. The ABL adaptive optics use the turbulence measurement to compensate for atmospheric errors. Fact: not even a laser can fire without adjustments. FV
  15. Subtitles? Of which group? I downloaded gattai for ep. 06. "Anti-ESA" is mentioned at 18:14. It is recognizable in the dialogue amidst Japanese words. No explanation for the acronym is given neither in the dialogue nor in the screen. Also, now that I think better... these are anti-ESA ammo, so it's anti-Electronic Safe and Arm. Now you can see how it sounds silly. You can ask translators to help you check this thing, but I advise you not to expect something different from what I told you. FV
  16. Bondage straps... or Grace's tentacles? J/K FV
  17. Because something in Luca's expression and voice tone didn't make me think it was a joke. Maybe it's a Japanese thing FV
  18. The girl in the center of the pic has some weird animal clinged on the arm. Another type of cellphone? FV
  19. At first I thought: "where did I skip that?", but after some research I see you just used an existing RL acronym for initials whose meaning is yet undefined. Sorry, but I don't think these missiles defeated Vajra only because they had superior fuzes Another thing to consider is that in Macross there is technology that maybe not have a RL equivalent. Probably Valkyries have countermeasures against heat based weapons. After all they can reentry athmosphere on their own. As for RL current progress to utilize as a benchmark, here is what Wikipedia says about the AirBorn Laser: The ABL does not burn through or disintegrate its target. It heats the missile skin, weakening it, causing failure from high speed flight stress. Somehow that makes Valkyries' lasers more impressive, for the moment FV
  20. After some research, I see that even in English "blue day" can be related to the period. However, I notice that it can also be used for a more intuitive meaning. Here is what I found in a dictionary: 8. blue - causing dejection; "a blue day"; "the dark days of the war"; "a week of rainy depressing weather"; "a disconsolate winter landscape"; "the first dismal dispiriting days of November"; "a dark gloomy day"; "grim rainy weather" Is it possible that this double entendre was carried over from English to Japanese? By the way, thanks for your work on Frontier FV
  21. I think Ozma won't die this week but the next one, because Pineapple Salad was ep. 18. FV
  22. I think it's a mistranslation. I hear Luca's VA saying "blue day", which I interpret as "bad day". Possibly there is some double entendre in Japanese (IIRC blue is the color for "sex"), but Luca wasn't surely meaning that. FV
