OK, I've charged the camera batteries, converted Valkyrie from battroid to fighter, and removed fast packs -- all just for you. The easiest point of reference is the horizontal line at the bottom of the stabilizer ("tail"); using the line as a reference, look at the position of the crossbones. From left to right: side-byside, 3rd reissue, 4th reissue 343069 Thanks Wicked Ace. Hope the one I will be getting end of this month will have a straight skull.

Thanks for the pics ghostryder. The nose gaps, if you read graham's review on the sample VF-1S he got, it happens when the lading gear is down. I am not to sure whether it happens to mine as I haven't check it. But when the landing gear is back up the gap should be close or smaller. I don't mind posting pics of my 4th reissue -1S; however, I think the comparison pics provided by Valk-1S illustrate the crooked skull problem better than any pics I could post. Note, I don't own the 1st or 2nd edition Roy -1S toys. IMO, the best thing to do is to place your Roy -1S next to the comparison shots provided by Valk-1S. You can judge for yourself how satisfied you are with the toy you received. Again, if anyone needs pics of either of my Roy -1S valks, I'd be glad to post pics in this thread when I charge my camera batteries. 342857 Please do post a pic of the skull. It's me Valk-1S Just like to see how straight it was. Thanks.

I will be getting another 4th Issue from another supplier end of this month and will see whether the skull is straight this time. Wicked Ace or eming, if you can, can you take a pic of the skull for me. Just curious to have a look at it. I asked it in another post but so far no one have posted any pics of it. Thanks.

2000 Yen more May have to reconsider how many to get now. Hope the dealers will be able to get good prices. I guess higher price due to Leg FPs (extra accesory compares to VF-1), more materials needed for slightly larger size and the main reason could be the VF-0 has less variants as compared to the VF-1 to make and the VF-0 may not sell as well as the VF-1. Yamato cannot milk the molds as much as they want.
-
Yup, they only charge when they get their stock in and ready to ship to you. In the meantime you can also reduce or cancel your order befoer they ship it in their account maintenance.

The Hikaru 1S came with a rubber type material pilot. Same material as the Low Vis and TV Pilots. The Roy is the original hard plastic pilot. All the Roy pilots are the same no matter which issue.

New Gundam FIX and ZEONOGRAPHY on the way...
Valk-1S replied to GRAND CANNON's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
Thanks for the tip. Damn I want mine but mine won't be shipped until the De-Active set comes in. -
I would just avoid getting the 1st Issue. So far if you get the 2nd Issue you will definitely get a straight skull on it's tailfin. 3rd and 4th, you most likely will not, however, some members have claimed theirs is straight. For my collection, the 2nd Issue paint job is not as good compared to the 3rd and 4th. However, I have read in the forums that the early release 2nd Issue with Velcro on the box have good paint job. That person also mention that the later batched he saw without velcro, the paint job was not as good. So I guess if your fussy about the skull go for the 2nd. If not, must as well just pick up a 3rd or 4th as due to the skull problem some ppl are charging premium for the 2nd Issue.

Just went to look at the Macross Zero site and the head lasers are pretty long on the cgi. I think it's close enough. Looking good. Will definitely pick up a few
-
Yeah the antennas look a little long. Also the Heatshield on fighter mode looks different from the heatshield from battroid. Could it be this may have to be removable. Edit: I think the heatshield will bend downwards a bit to cover the cockpit and beneath the heatshield will be a black piece to cover the hold like in the pic where pointed to.

New Gundam FIX and ZEONOGRAPHY on the way...
Valk-1S replied to GRAND CANNON's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
I never own any FIX before so I am not sure how they compare to it. But the CR Impulse was pretty bad on mine. The Freedom was better. -
I am thinking of buying a box of the CMS Series 2 & 3. What are the chances of getting a DYRL Max in CMS 3 box and also the Hikaru Cockpit for the CMS 2 box. I will definitely like to get both of them, but if the chances are not good, I think I would rather look to buy a completed set instead. Thanks.

New pics of the CR Strike Freedom. Looking good. But still with the shorter wings like the CF Freedom. Thanks to Mecha Master from SGCollect. -
Re-Issues will also depend on the number of quantity demanded. Ebay prices may have skyrocketed, but for Yamato to re-issue there must be enough demand out there for them to produce their minimum quantity. If not, they won't. Roy VF-1S is the most popular Valk, which is why it has been re-issued many times as this will be a first on the list for new ppl entering into the 1/48 or macross. Hikaru 1A was probably reissued to have an updated Hikaru 1A with the fixes. Other than that no other were, however, there were rumors the Max 1A was also reissued once, but some ppl said it was probably old stock in the warehouse. And past sales of the Max 1A and Hikaru 1S may affect them being reissued. If I remember correctly these set on the shelf for quite a while and the Max was discounted quite a bit in places like Japan TRU. Also Neova and Toy-wave were selling them for $90 each.
-
You think you feel bad, I passed it up on the Max 1A, saying that one 1A was good enough for me until I got the Hikaru 1S and got the VF-1J M&M and go back into toy-wave to see the Max 1A is still there to my surprise it's sold out all I have to say is SH$%#%T I have a job it was cheap I could have gotten it along with the fast packs. 336391 Yeah I got 13 of them at the time. It was a great price. 336531 Now you know who bought out the Max 1A from Toy-wave
-
Yeah, agree with you there Shin that I doubt it will go way over the price on the 1/48. My opinion will be similar to the 1/48 just like the Koenig Monster. But we will just have to wait and see. Not gonna trust Yamato estimated prices this time, ie GBP Will wait for pre-order pricing from places like HLJ. Now we need more pics of the battroid mode
-
Shin, a business is a business. If you think Yamato would just happily go along and spend money on failed projects with no intention of making money from other projects to cover it, then Yamato will go bankrupt. The fact is yamato had spend money on the 1/100 sculpt. We of course are not in that industry to know how much they have to pay the sculptors, which can be a lot for all we know. How do you know it doesn't cost much to pay the sculptors. Do you have the going rates that Sculptors demand in Japan. As they have incurred cost in the 1/100, Yamato will of course expect some of the revenue from the 1/60 line to cover the cost for their failed projects no matter who the sculptor is. Yes the 1/100 sculptor has already been paid which is a cost to Yamato. So tell me how do Yamato fund these dead cost. From a money tree? No they have to rely on other projects that are successful, like the VF-0 is it does comes out. Also, in regards to the GBP, Yamato already plan removable missles when they estimate the cost to be 8000 Yen. Then all of a sudden a jump to 12000 Yen for their final price. We do not know the reason why they increase it. Could be due to increase in cost of materials or just Yamato want a higher profit margin as the GBP won't sell as many as the FPs and therefore the molds are not being utilise as much. If it's material cost than this would very well happen to the VF-0. Also not to mention with the VF-1 line Yamato are able to make more variants without much modifications. The Zero has less variants, without making modifications to the mold. So they won't be able to utilise the molds for the VF-0 as much as the VF-1. Therefore, they may want a higher profit margin. Also, the VF-0 may not be as simple to create. Yes the transformation parts will be similar to the VF-1. But the heatshield may not be as easy to design as what most ppl think. It could actually be harder. The VF-1 they had to make sure it fit around the cockpit and hide inside the chest plate. With the VF-0 you have to make sure it fit flush on top in fighter mode and also make sure it fit nicely around the cockpit. We do not know how the new mechanism for the Heatshield will be. Lastly, why would Yamato reduce cost when the VF-0 will be very similar to the VF-1. If it's proven that they can sell the VF-1 at that price why drop the price for the VF-0. And your estimate price of $125, err isn't that what retailers are charging for the VF-1 at the moment.

You guys just can't judge by mere size, the scopedog they put out was bigger than any macross toy they have ever released yet it is cheaper. And the qrau, look how much that costed. And why the need to cover the failed attempt of the 1/100? It never came out, why pay for something that does not exist? 335675 They need to cover cost on the 1/100 becos they spend time and money on developing something which never earn any revenue for them. They have to pay the sculptor for his time to develop the 1/100 prototypes. I think the GBP may also play a factor in the price of the VF-0S. Most of us were shocked with the sudden jump from their 8000 Estimated price to 12000 retail. If the GBP sells well then Yamato could very well just charge the same or even more for the VF-0S as compared to the VF-1. Anyway time will tell.
-
I think prices will be about the same or more. You have to also remember Yamato need to cover the cost of their failed attempt of the 1/100 VF-0S. Not to mention we will be getting leg FPs, individual removable missles, and it also may be bigger than the VF-1.

Toywave is great. No problems with him. Have always been getting great service from him. But just be aware I think he may be away this week but there will probably be someone else covering for him. I remember seeing it on the pop up when you enter his website. -
All are plastic. Even the 2nd ed is plastic. Only DYRL pilot that is rubber is the Hikaru 1S.

To have pics appear directly instead of thumbnails, you need to link the image from a URL rather than upload an image as an attachment. -
If you have time, could you please take a picture of the skull on the tailfin as your is straight. Thanks

They still seem the same to me. Will double check later tonight. Edit: Just checked, and they are exactly the same. No difference at all. Unless those released in Japan is different as I got mine from HK. 333370 Probably old stock. Mine is considerably smaller than the original packaging, unless its bootlegged. 333467 Could you take some pics for us. Mine is from Toy-Wave and was the recent released, so unless it was old stock kept in the Yamato warehouse it shouldn't be old stock. -
