I believe Lolicon broke his as well as he mentioned it a few pages back but managed to glue it back without any problem. I found it tricky to open to. Have to get the tab from the front out first, then elevate the canopy before being able to bend it open.

The VF-171 does not appear to be selling as the stock at Amazon JP is not moving much unless the prices drop. Probably similar to the Alto VF-171 where it was readily available when it was released. If you keep an eye on Amazon JP, you may be able to pick some up for below RRP when new sellers or current sellers drop their prices.

They are probably confirming stock with who they get it from and releasing in batches as they go I guess. Sometimes their preorders can close for quite a while to open later down the track again.

We shouldn't really complaint about NY. They are providing a service to people outside of Japan to be able to purchase items without too much trouble compare to other places where you need to use proxies or use a forwarding agent. It's already good that NY do not expect a deposit or prepayment. Just think of how many cancellations they probably got from people who finally managed to secure one at RRP from places like HLJ for the VF-171 and RVF-25. Just imaging that if NY did not exists, many of us will be trying to figure out how to purchase these items and some of us will be reluctant to use forwarding agents or proxies.

YF-29 30th was pre-ordered up to 21,500 Yen then drop to 19,500 on sale and now to 20,000 Yen. VF-171 was pre-ordered up to 17,000. Now on sale at 16,000. Not to say really drop a lot from the pre order. Will be interesting to see how the VF-25F goes when it gets released as Alto and Ozma the most popular and may not be as easy to find when released. NY had to drop the price due to them having too much stock and it's readily available in Japan at the moment. Eventually the price will go back up just like the VF-25G which NY drop at one stage as well. The VF-171 is widely available at Amazon JP and at lower price. Only issue is that you need to use a forwarding agent. Will be interesting to see whether Amazon JP will have stock on the Alto when released.

HLJ is a japanese store and will operate based on their timezone. Besides they serve worldwide and many countries are within their timezone. The US is not their only customer base, and it's unfair to think that they should stay up in the early morning just to open the preorders to suit their US customers which does not necessarily make up a huge amount of their client base.

The questions is whether it's worth it to pay for NY premium or take the chances and buy from Amazon JP or Rakuten when it comes out. There's plenty of VF-171 CF at Amazon JP and prices are better than NY too. Given how fast these sold out, I won't be surprised that NY will whack a huge premium like the VF-25F. Their premium for the VF-171, RVF-25 were more reasonable.

I just noticed that Amiami also list it on Rakuten. They probably allocate some stock there and some stock on their website, or the database are linked together. Rakuten might have a better server than Amiami own, perhaps thats how some people especially locals are getting their order through. http://item.rakuten.co.jp/amiami/toy-rbt-03430/

Miss it at Amiami again. Had it in my cart, log in and got to the next screen but couldn't finalise the last step. At least was one step better than the VF-25F where I just had it in my cart and when log in said out of stock.

Check Amazon JP as I just bought a couple from one of the seller which is fulfilled by Amazon and came out cheaper than NY. However, you will need to use Tenso to ship it and mine came out cheaper probably due to buying 2. However, I paid 16,100 yen for one, and recently noticed some places selling cheaper, and yesterday Amazon JP itself had one for 14,200 yen but no longer available. Please note that some sellers will only accept Japan credit card. However, if fulfilled by Amazon JP, I believe the payment process goes through Amazon JP and should have no problem using a foreign CC.

Amazon JP appears to have some available but you will need to use Tenso to forward the package to you.http://www.amazon.co.jp/%E3%83%90%E3%83%B3%E3%83%80%E3%82%A4-DX%E8%B6%85%E5%90%88%E9%87%91-VF-171-%E3%83%8A%E3%82%A4%E3%83%88%E3%83%A1%E3%82%A2%E3%83%97%E3%83%A9%E3%82%B9-%E4%B8%80%E8%88%AC%E6%A9%9F/dp/B00ATZ13MA/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&m=A33YJXP38V1U8S&qid=1367365891&s=generic&sr=1-4 I just placed an order with them so hopefully as they are using Amazon to fulfill their orders they will accept my credit card as some places requires Japan issued credit card only. Update: Confirm that they accept foreign credit card as my card has been charged by Amazon and my status has now changed to shipping soon.

I have one with a missing tyre as well and posted in the wanted section but no reply so far. You can use the tyres from the 1/60 Yamato VF-1 V2. They are almost the same size.

The question is whether it will be reissued. At this point nobody knows. Some places has it as being a limited item but I think the correct term used was Tamashii Exclusive which still give hopes of it being reissued. Based on the comments here, nobody have seen Tamashii reissuing items that they have released before. When it first came out, I paid about 6000 Yen for the Super and 9500 for the armored parts from another seller in Japan. Check out ebay as you may find it cheaper. Last week there were some sellers from Hong Kong Selling it at about $120 shipped for the super parts but they have now increased it to about $180. They still are selling the Ozma Super for less than $120 for those willing to take the chance that Ozma will be reissued and want to get before the price inflates. There are other sellers still selling the Alto Super around $150 shipped which is slightly cheaper than NY.
-
Were the Tamashii armored and super parts limited to that one release or are they able to release more given the reissues of the VF-25F and maybe the VF-25S. If you look at ebay there are some super parts for around US$115-120 for both the Alto and Ozma. Also there's the armored parts for both Alto and Ozma from someone in M'sia for US$160 before shipping. $20 shipping for one or $30 shipping for two.

NY webpage is lagging at the moment. All of us must be hitting F5 continuosly.
-
It's all hard to tell. Perhaps Bandai release less in quantity for the VF-25F as compared to the RVF-25 which could be harder to source and therefore a higher premium have been included. Or this being Alto's, demand will be higher even though the quantity is the same. What might happened when this is released, NY might end up with too many stock like the YF-29 and provide a discount. I am sure we will probably see it again at NY probably at the same 20,000 Yen price. Not lower though until it has actually been released and they find that they have too many stock. Deciding whether to order or not if NY release more. Kicking myself now for not ordering more when it first came out and also missing out at Amiami and Hobby Search when I had it in my cart. I may just order one from NY and hope to pick one up at retail from HLJ, Hobby Search or Amiami when it's released in July.
-
Annoyed at the moment as yesterday I had it in my cart at both Amiami and Hobby Search but couldn't check out. NY mark up is ussually about 2000-3000 Yen from retail on the first few batches they put up. After that it will go up again. The VF-171CF had an initial mark up of 2000 yen and the RVF-25 had an initial mark up of 3000 yen. But anything can happen just like now where NY is over stock on the YF-29 30th anniversary and now have it on sale with 2,500 mark up as compared to their previous mark up of 4,500.
-
Like Duymon said, most website limit to 1 per person. HLJ varies. Sometimes 1, sometimes 3. Really depends on them. NY on the other has no limit which is probably why their preorder went quickly.
-
With Yamato you get a different frustration. Buy early to see the item go on sale down the road and sometimes at huge discounts. Or buy early to see Yamato re-release the same item with QC issues fixed and get extra parts on the re-releases.
