No worries, I'm not concerned how much you're paying for anything. I'm concerned about how much I'M paying for things and I'm sharing my experience using Yahoo Japan Auctions in a thread titled "Yahoo! Japan - Experience?" I don't understand this response. If you post on an internet forum complaining about other people complaining...I guess that's a thing. I don't know. I'm not the smartest person in the room, but this is an English speaking forum and I imagine most people who post here have to use a proxy in order to use Yahoo Auctions Japan. Again, the thread is about your experience using Yahoo Auctions: this is my experience and I think some folks may be interested and/or even benefit from my experience. I for one would have loved to have come across this thread 6 months ago pointing out the most user friendly and/or cost effective sites and methods of payment. It would have allowed me to purchase even more of the toys that I enjoy.

The most cost effect seem to be From Japan or Zen Market. If you're a baller who only carries 100 dollar bills then use Buyee
-
You can get a new one on japan yahoo auctions for around 300-320 USD shipped via EMS (using From Japan proxy). Considerably less if you get one that's used (i.e. transformed one or twice) or use a cheaper shipping option.

NIB and/or never transformed YF-30s regularly sell for a 50-75% markup on yahoo auctions. Used go for closer to MSRP. Here's a closed auction search: https://auctions.yahoo.co.jp/closedsearch/closedsearch;_ylt=A7dPDjNnlEJZDwoA5W33KP97?p=yf-30&aq=-1&oq=&ei=UTF-8&auccat=0

I've found a deal or two on eBay but this thread is about yahoo auctions. Hey, maybe some of you have Jay-Z money and don't care if you are paying more than you have to However, I think most folks buying with USD would rather save an additional 8% if possible. I know I've spent enough on JYA such that 8% is meaningful and I would have rather put that money towards *drum roll* MORE TOYS

I just signed up for an FJ account and it appears they do not charge a conversion fee so From Japan > Zen Market > Buyee. Wish I had taken a closer look at FJ sooner as I would have saved a few more bucks over the last few months. Seriously doubt I'll ever use Buyee again as it's 5% more than ZM and 8% more than FJ. I wonder how FJ are making money just charging 300 yen per auction and 500 yen for consolidation. Maybe that's enough and the others are just charging what the market will bare
-
Yeah I'm curious. Zenmarket > Buyee; but if FJ doesn't charge a conversion rate then it's more reasonable than both in many cases. I want to say that I looked at FJ a while back but they were quite expensive. If I recall correctly they used to charge like 10-12% commission but I may be mixing them up with someone else. I researched a bunch around Christmas so it's a blur.
-
I forgot to add; ZenMarket allows you to store your items at their warehouse for 45 days. Buyee only allows you to store items for 30 days.
-
A quick update on ZenMarket: I finally withdrew my leftover funds and they processed it as a return to my cc via PayPal (plus the service fee) so I got all of my money back. ZM is definitely cheaper than buyee because they only charge the 3% conversion rate to add funds and then 300 yen per purchase. There are no package consolidation fees or sneaky add-ons. In contrast buyee charges 3% conversion rate, plus 5% of the auction, plus 200 yen per auction, plus 500 yen package consolidation fee. ZM communication is also much faster than buyee and the web interface is more user friendly imho (ymmv). If you're making multiple medium to large purchases you would do well to give ZenMarket a try.

The regult scout looks cool. Wish I had the modeling chops to build one of these kits!

Almost as silly as resurrecting a 12 year old thread

52000 omfg lol this must be the premium finish version that comes with a pizza party for you and your friends with a special guest appearance by shoji kawamori
-
45000 holy crap!
-
Holy crap, 20K of debt that started 10 years ago!?! I think most folks would say it's in your best interest to skip the $300 "premium finish" plastic toys until you get your debt under control. Do what you want of course but damn. 20k of high interest credit card debt is no joke.

New Macross TV Series in 20xx (sometime this decade)
spacemanoeuvres replied to Tochiro's topic in Movies and TV Series
lol that's hilarious and makes for quite a contrast. I'm only 4 eps into delta and it's quite silly in some ways hahaha Would be cool if we got a series that was...mmm...better than delta -
You may want to check the "Wanted" subforum as well. There are folks actively looking for items that will be motivated to buy something before it's listed in the "For Sale & Trade" sub forum.

I would contact them. It's been released for a while now so they should have asked for payment at this point.

I don't enjoy transforming most valks; and anything beyond a VF-1 is like some kind of brain teaser. I always que up jenius' transformation vids, and even then I feel like I'm on the verge of breaking something about 99% of the time lol

Macross Collectibles Market Watch - Current Auction/Store SOLD prices
spacemanoeuvres replied to jvmacross's topic in Toys
Yeah it would be closer to 4500 but I would prob use SAL -
If you want a particular item then it's almost certainly better to pre-order. You can always sell it if you decide that you don't want to keep it.

They could have fixed the priest collar in batroid mode and added back the 1/48 gimmicks

I opened a Capital One Quicksilver card just to buy toys from Japan. No foreign transaction fees, 1.5% cash back, and $100 sign on bonus. I got enough rewards to buy a DX in about 2 months

Both of those are high. Use your cc conversion rate, currently 1 USD = 110 JY. A few weeks ago rates were way better. 1 USD was = 114.5 JY.
