I think it looks promising in comparison to the Yamato 1/48. I agree with Jenius; the 1/60 yamarcadia is a sweet figure but the 1/48 and dx look more anime accurate in battroid mode. The vf-1 really does call for a large scale because it’s a small bird compared to subsequent valks. I have loads of 1/48s but am still pumped to get my hands on these because of the ostensible improvements to engineering and details (tampo).

Buyee charges the same fees as From Japan but they charge more; on top of that they charge a 5% auction fee AND a currency conversion fee. Buyee is legit one of the most expensive proxies you can use.

Yeah I think folks forget how small the vf-1 is compared to the newer valks. A 1/60 vf-1 is quite small compared to a 1/60 yf-19. The 1/48’s vf-1’s are about the same size as newer birds in 1/60 scale.

If it’s “in stock” you’re probably good. They screwed me over on a preorder once and I had to go through PayPal to get a refund, so I will never order from there again. To be honest, there are a few on yahoo auctions for 25000-26000 “buy it now”. With domestic and international shipping (using From Japan) it’s actually a little cheaper than ordering from NY and definitely cheaper than NN (they charge in euro).

If the valk is 21000 and fees 7000 wouldn’t that put this closer to 28000 per valk before shipping?

Very cool. I love the 1/48 scale VF-1’s and am excited to see what improvements were made when compared to the Yamato version.
