Well in a panic i just bought a 1/60 fire valk and sound booster for $145 and a 19S for $165. With that i bid adieu to Yamato, i have the hero valk and the S type for every series.
Where'd you find the fire valk and sound booster for that price?

>SOLD OUT<
what was sold out?

Those were the good old days in 2008 to 2010. You got new Yammies every month. If you didn't see a new valk in two months, you whined.
2008 was the year i first started collecting. Looking back it was a great time to start. I was able to quickly build up a 1/48 collected cheaply since everyone was selling them off to buy the new 1/60 scale. Unfortunately still made blunders like buying original 1/60 and 1/72 and especially MPCs.

I do think it's amusing that so many people bitched and moaned about how expensive every little Yamato item was and now that the source has been cut off they're panicking and buying up everything. That's the epitome of looking a gift horse in the mouth.
Yeah i agree. I think i mentioned this in a post last year sometime that i was worried about the state of yamato because people were passing on initial release to wait for the eventual sale. I think Bandai had a part in this as a lot of people were focusing on getting their stuff first as it would be harder to get latter on and that the yamato stuff would most likely still be there waiting for them. But like mechanianc said above, not everyone can afford to get them right away.

Is this really out? Amiami hasn't sent me a notice yet.

Seriously? Almost $10,000 for an original Beagle Rey type ride armor???
Yeah ridiculous. I 'm not sure what's going on with amazon and it's price gouging. Even Amazon itself is doing it. My wife bought a rocking chair and the price immediately went up $50.

Wow Over $500 for a stand.

Got one too. I'm skeptical that they will meet demand but here's hoping.

Yeah Arcadia is only likely to announce that they have a license. if they don't they won't have an announcement that they don't have the Macross license. So if we don't hear anything in the next month or so, i'd say don't expect anything from Arcadia. It could end without any acknowledgement.

The vf-19 is an amazing toy. I rate it higher than the yf-29. Yamato valks are way more fun to play and fiddle with than bandai valks and the Vf-19 represents the best of yamato.
-
I have a fondness for that design. i wish there was a toy accurate version. The Jetfire classic was close.
-
Anyone have a screencap of the isamu YF-29?
-
That's what i wonder about. A few people in this and the other thread keep stating that arcadia would be foolish to give up the licence since yamato is making so much money from it especially this last year. I kept wondering to myself how they know that. Yamato valks are always on sale after the initial release and a lot of time go on clearance. Kinda makes me think they aren't really selling that well. Also around the time the Gamilin Vf-22s came out, didn't yamato reduce the amount they produced per run?

To be fair, the "i know a secret but i can't tell you" shtick is irritating even back on the playground during elementary school years. IMO if you know something that you can't say then don't mention it. Just my opinion. Not taking any sides.

it just says that if you look at the yamato vf-1 line up they have all but completed the entire line up appearing in the original series and dyrl. right around the time they released the vf-1j the thought occurred that they had done all the major valks with not much else left, and where they should go from there. but after doing non-canon schemes like the cavaliers, a strong feeling came to mr k wanting to complete the entire vf-1 line. however, the company can't make something that has a low probability of turning a profit. so the outcome was a one unit prototype of the alaska base unit in the pic. if it were to be released it would be called 1/60 "alaska region type." whether or not it is produced is up to feedback, so if there is feedback then you'd better take responsibility and buy it to complete your vf-1 set!
so no nothing about the macross line after the arcadia name change. read into what you like.
As much as i'd like to see it, the alaska base vf-1a would definitely be a shelf warmer.

So disappointing that they won't address this issue. If it wasn't for that issue, this would be the best stand..period.
-
Well it's good the scaplers got theirs.
-
- sold out on cdjapan already too.
-
Anyway, with a macross movie on the horizon it's a property to keep alive.
What movie is this?
-
Really.. that's kind of my issue with all of Bandai's valks. They just aren't pleasant to transform. It feels like a chore to get things lined up and in place correctly, and you're worried the entire time that you're doing it wrong, and something will scratch, or break, or fly across the room.
I have to agree with this. After a few months of playing around with Bandai valks, i grabbed my Vf-11b yammie to test it on a Bandai stand. Boy was it ever so much funner to pose and transform than Bandai's valks. I forgot how awesome of a toy the vf-11b is.

Currently rewatching Scrapped Princess. I still can't believe how bad Bandai dropped the ball with this show by not promoting it. This is a show that should be on Toonami not garbage like Deadman Wonderland, or shows that have already been done to death. The story is great, the dub is amazing, but above all the character designs and the animation levels are stunning.
If Bandai can drop the ball with Gundam, there's pretty much no hope for Scrapped Princess.

If you have the original rubber tipped ones i'd be interested in picking them up. The newer ones not so much...
-
I wouldn't buy any. The risk of damage is too great for a $10 stand. Right now i'm using gundam action stands with the adapter EXO made. Works great with the YF-19.

It's bittersweet. If yamato was still around, this year could've been the year they released the vf-2ss web exclusive.
