  1. Really.. that's kind of my issue with all of Bandai's valks. They just aren't pleasant to transform. It feels like a chore to get things lined up and in place correctly, and you're worried the entire time that you're doing it wrong, and something will scratch, or break, or fly across the room.

I have to agree with this. After a few months of playing around with Bandai valks, i grabbed my Vf-11b yammie to test it on a Bandai stand. Boy was it ever so much funner to pose and transform than Bandai's valks. I forgot how awesome of a toy the vf-11b is.

  2. Currently rewatching Scrapped Princess. I still can't believe how bad Bandai dropped the ball with this show by not promoting it. This is a show that should be on Toonami not garbage like Deadman Wonderland, or shows that have already been done to death. The story is great, the dub is amazing, but above all the character designs and the animation levels are stunning.

If Bandai can drop the ball with Gundam, there's pretty much no hope for Scrapped Princess.

  3. They will definitely be trying to piggy back on the success of the Transformer movies. When the first TF movie came out is when talk about a live action RT movie got "serious". The movie more likely use Rick Hunter and all the rest of the macross characters like EXO said. The story will be heavily reworked IMO to avoid legal issues. I doubt it will ever come out. They missed their window of opportunity This movie should have come out back in 2008-9 to capitalize the 80s nostalgia that was happening to to the success of the first TF movie. Even then chances of success would be in question (Gijoe for example).

  4. I got my VF-4 today after the two week customs hell. No problems here, just the missiles shooting off everywhere. Just beautiful. :)

Hmmm after receiving some packages from NY, they really love to reuse boxes and very horribly attempt to tape them back together. The box my 171 came in looked like the front lid was left completely open and then masses of tape was strung around it even though if they just closed it together like a normal box it would have been fine. And after looking at my VF-4's shipping box NY paid 3,600 yen to ship it which is about $40, and I paid $57 for shipping. I knew NY was overcharging. <_<

That figures. It was pretty obvious they were overcharging shipping especially considering the cut down recycled boxes. Seriously i think they would've sold more if they didn't charge so much for shipping. I probably would've bought another. N-Y quality of service has been slowly going down hill. My vf-171 came in with a missing part (not their fault but the way they choose to handle it was ridiculous). My vf-25G came with the shipping box punctured in the centre. The hole went through the toy box but didn't damage the toy. Still i expected to give me $20 off since i don't have a MSIB vf-25g anymore or even a coupon for my next purchase. Nope, never replied after my second email with the requested pics they asked for. Unfortunately they have us by the balls as they are the only place to get bandai valks without resorting to ebay scalpers. If that situation changes be sure i will stop ordering from them.

  5. Not to split hairs, but he doesn't really say that they were sold in lots of 10 only that they could have. Unless he releases the sales info (which he won't) we don't know if 100 people bought 100 valks or 10 people bought 10 each or any number in between. I guess it will depend on how many suddenly appear on ebay?

  6. Wow that's a near miss for me. ae_productions offered to sell me MP-10 around that time frame but i couldn't put together the cash at the time (damn $300 yf-29). I'm also suprised to hear you having isues with him as i've had an sucessful purchase from him (through ebay though). He use to post here all the time too. I think something must of happened in his personal life. Its seems strange that he would do this now.

  7. I was referring to solicits to retailers and not consumers. VF-4G is not comparable, it is an exclusive toy meant for direct sale to Japanese consumers and not to retailers through the usual wholesale/distribution channels. If you're going to compare the VF-4G to anything, then do it with the Tamashii Web shop exclusive parts.

We knew the VF-171 CF was coming, pre-orders did not pop up without Bandai announcing the release date etc. It was updated on the Tamashii website a week before the pre-orders were up. Various hobby sites all picked up and reported it too.

Interesting. I never seem to hear any chatter about when pre-orders go up and i generally surf the sites/blogs a lot. So the general rule with Bandai releases are pre-orders are taken 4 months prior to the release date?

  8. I'm hoping it's a light year from Yamato. Surprisingly Bandai is going to keep me busy this year again. Already plan on getting the VF-171, RVF-25, YF-29 30th, VF-27&yf-29 super parts and possibly VF-171 armour parts.

  9. Sorry if this has been asked already but i couldn't seem to find any topics on this with the search function. I have to put together the 2 sides of the shoulder on my vf-1s. What is the best glue to use? And what the ones i need to stay away from (eg glues that will melt the plastic)?

  10. That information is incorrect.

There was some frustration among fans that this first ever VF-4 toy was going to be the VF-4G variant from the video game rather than the one from Flash Back 2012. As Yamato must comply with the wishes of Big West, they informed fans that due to the fact the VF-4 never transforms in Flash Back 2012 they were limited to making the version from Digital Mission VF-X.

I'm not arguing that this isn't what happened but i have to say that logic seems flimsy to me. I agree with Mommar example of the vf-x release.

  11. I used them once for the YF-29 reissue and I received my product. That said I will never use them again. To begin with they are just about the only seller, and I intentionally use the term seller not company, that requires payment up front on pre-orders. CDJapan requires this on international preorders as well...but they're quite literally the first company in Japan to focus on exporting CDs, LDs, DVDs and they've been around forever. When Anime Export finally shipped my Valk they sent me a tracking number for Sagawa...well great, but Sagawa doesn't operate in the US. After multiple e-mails requesting valid tracking info, to which they first insisted the tracking was correct, they finally informed me that Sagawa partners with Fedex and only brings the freight to the US. It then goes to Fedex who makes delivery. Fine, so what was my fedex tracking number? That they could not provide me with, so I had a tracking number that showed a package leaving Japan and that was it.

Finally it showed up, but at no point was I able to track it's progress once it left Japan. It arrived in a reused box (for dry food product iirc) that had been poorly cut down to fit the valk size and stuffed with, quite literally, trash. Old newspaper, unusable flattened air packet plastic, and the like. I was incised. Not only was my item packaged with trash, it was not packed to protect all sides of the item! I have NEVER received an item packaged in such condition from HLJ, CDJ, Amiami, JList, Amazon Japan (which a friend forwards for me), or any other vendor I have ever used!

I honestly cannot recommend them at all. Others may have had better experiences but I do not trust AE and I will NEVER use them again, even if they are the only option. And I use the term seller in referring to them, rather than company, because they conduct business like some guy working out of his basement rather than as you would expect from a vendor who Bandai actually allocates limited product to.

I would think they are going to fit, but they might be visually too dark given the dark coloration of the CF. Wonder if they'll have a different version like they do for the YF-29 vs YF-29 30th?

Someone packed one of my orders with trash as well. I wish i could remember who it was now.
