Macross Plus in BD!!! OVA w/ English Dub & Movie w/En

The movie had the English subs hard coded to the video image. the US DVD release looked like it was taken from the vhs masters. I'm guessing they probably either don't want to want to put any extra work into putting subs into this release. The ova dub was probably just added in as an afterthought and because it was easy enough to do with minimal effort. I'd be interested to know how good the audio of the dub is. It's probably just upmixed stereo audio. -
I'm all about saving money and buying yamato stuff at a discount but part of me wonders if we are shooting ourselves in the foot? If everyone decides to wait for yamato valks to go on sale and not buy them when they first come out, will this affect yamato continuing to release product? it's kinda sad that right now that we are rewarding Bandai (myself included) by buying their valks at preorder time because we're all afraid of not getting our hands on one. Meanwhile yamato is releasing enough product for most of us to get without camping out on websites at 2 in the morning (my time) but we reward them by waiting for sales (myself included). This year was my most expensive year ever in this hobby except maybe my first year collecting (2008) but this year was definately the most i spent on new just released product and not used stuff. This year i got the vf-25s, yf-29, vf-171ex, vf-25g, Vf-1a cavalier, Vt-1, VF-19s, vf-19f, vf-17s, vf-11b, vf-1j, vf-0a and a bunch of other valks i picked up at good hard to resist prices. Some of these were multiples as well. Looking back at the list i'm glad to see i preorder 3 yamato valks this year (vf-19f, Cavalier and VT-1). Will also get the VF-4G of course.

Have you guys gotten a payment request from nippon yassen? They usually send one 2weeks before release. I havent seen one myself.

I tried that and they didn't work at all. The yamato valkyries are too heavy and there's no good way to attach the stand to the valkyrie.

UPS is the worst for that. When i ordered my set and i saw they were the shipping company i cursed to myself. Everything that i order that is shipped through UPS gets dinged with custom, brokerage, handling and any other fees they can think of. I once ordered cd for $15 and had to pay close to $60 in fees. Like WTF? Another time a friend send me some blank tapes of old Japanese shows he recorded. Customs considered them goods bought and charged me $27 per tape. Want makes it sting worse is that there is no one to call and complain or dispute these charges. It's either pay or not get your stuff. I use USPS whenever i can to avoid this. Not sure why it's so different but it hardly ever hits customs and they don't charge any of those extra bs fees that UPS does. -

I bought a set of five today. I already have 4 gundam stands. I'm hoping this is a great solution for the pricey yamato stand and paint removing flightpose stands. Not a moment too soon. I just noticed that my vf-171 just lost a tiny dot of paint from the flightpose stand it was resting on. I guess the bandai stuff is not safe as well. -

Can you pop it off and put it back on correctly? I could do that with the ver1 vf-25. Haven't looked on mine yet since it hasn't been delivered yet.

You know i don't love the Vf-2SS like i use to since they made macross plus and on. I think the nose bugs me. If the nose was shaped more like a real fighter plane or other vfs i'd probably like it better.

The vf-9 is probably the valk i care about least. Ugliest valk not counting the metal siren.

I would wait on the WiiU. Games systems are usually not worth it in their year of release.

Good point. Super packs may be crappy if it's not implemented well. I doubt they knew ahead of time to incorporate it in the design unless this release has minor tweaks in the the mould (eg a couple extra attachment points) from the version already released. Could be the reason the super parts don't get sold separately. All conjecture at this point.

Would love a cf vf-25. Saw a custom paint job someone did. Looked awesome. I'm pretty sure the rvf-25 did transform into battloid in one episode, if my memory is correct. The episode in which Sheryl tries to fly Micheal's vf-25g and Luca comes to her rescue(kinda).

Well so much for thinking i'd get a break from buying valks next year. Three new ones to get, all bandai too. Three more times of going through the pre-order madness bs.

A friend bought me this game for my birthday back on the 14th. Never even knew it existed. I had vague recollections of seeing a game called x-com years ago but knew nothing about it. I though my buddy just got me a first person shooter (i hate those games) and was pleasantly surprised with what i got. This game is pretty sweet. It's hard to find decent turn based squad games.
