TUNDRA - Hey - You should put lights in this custom 1/60 hanger! Just have it plug in and avoid the batteries thing, you don't want batteries leaking someday all over this masterpiece. Although some leaked acid could add to the authenticity - "We have a reactor leak here, uh now. Give us a few minutes to lock it down. Uh, large leak, very dangerous"...

Sorry if this has already been posted -- but how is M.E.F different from Yamato? Will these kits be the same material as the Regult and Phalanx?

Prometheus - on Blu-Ray and DVD Oct. 9, 2012

LOL - Its Vivian from the Young Ones!!! Now that made my day... Thanks for that avatar... -
Was considering this but I will likely not pull the trigger if it does not come with option parts. YAMATO - The cat is out of the bag, you've shown the option parts, now customers might not buy your new products in a 'wait and see attitude'. Just include them and maximize sales...

Sleeping dogs are much easier than moving children. You still have to wait for the right light, right moment and capture the emotion on the run...

Are the new Cavalier, Alaska Base and new Valks not being released with option parts? Why would they not be? Does Yamato really hope to re-release Alaska Base 1A someday with option parts?

So will the Spartan be HDP - like the Phalanx, or something different?

After the war moved to space a lot of valks would have been sprayed this color scheme. Who would want to be white and red in all that blackness, sticking out like a target??

I think Max Factory nailed the Obari look, and did a nice job on the size of the figure. But as you mentioned, too many flaws for that price point. Those dreaded wings that will not stay up, the elbow and hip armors always popping off - and worse. Bandai really wins is in the face sculpt, as seen here. Max Factory's looks like he's biting on a big white carrot, Bandai's looks much meaner. Think the next Spec toy should be Dangaioh. They nailed the crazy small waist, super huge shoulders thing here with this radical Dragonar, think they'd do great on a Dangaioh... --------------- They clearly used this extremely stylized rendering from this book as their inspiration. Wonder if there is more of a story beyond just some artist's whim? Regardless -- that sure is a crazy interpretation of that mecha!

Saw this design a while back and suddenly a few popped up for auction. All were about $230 - $280, but one was (only?) $115. It only showed the box, no photo of the figure. Crossed my fingers, hoping it was the Tamashii Limited and I was not being tricked. I bid, expecting to get outbid. I did not! Its here and its pretty awesome. I've admired the Bandai Spec Dragonars for a while but this is my first purchase, glad I waited. Best I can describe it: Super Warped / Stylized version of the Dragonar Custom 1. Tons of metal, super high-quality fit and finish - every gadget and accessory you could want. Its smaller than I pictured, but in a way its refreshing. I have the Max Factory Dragonar 1, and it cannot be looked at side-ways without bits and more bits falling off. The MF's larger size makes it gangly, the flyer wings will not stay locked in up position - and a bunch of other things that make you want to avoid touching it. This Bandai seems super solid, fun to hold in your hand, without fear of posing / falling bits frustration. Has a new fangled 'pelvic joint' under its waist that I'm not too fond of yet. Wish it could be locked and unlocked. Its for really crazy poses, not sure it needs it. Again, the ability to lock it out would have been great. Hope they come out with a 'super warped' version of Dragonar 2 and 3 seen it this book here (and that same person puts them up for $115 !) ...

Thanks. She helped me pick those beans too. I do not have a fancy camera so my advice to those on MW who also do not is to wait for the right light, and work on composition. AMAZING Photos on here - really incredible stuff guys...

This is just wicked cool. I want to see the hatch open and the pilot crawl out and stand next to the valk. Its only when you see TRUE scale like this, can you realize just how much MAGIC the animators used when scaling down the pods for the Macross episodes...

M&M Valks should be along in the next batch...

From GearsOnline: Tread Re-Imagined In a 2007 issue of Hobby Japan Magazine Kakinuma Hideki discussed the mecha designs of Genesis Climber Mospeada and shared an illustration where he imagined a re-design of the Tread. His words follow. P-51 Mustang (Revell 1:32 Mustang) When I was in sixth grade, I had a 1:32 P-51 that I’d built and then ignored. One day, I painted "invasion stripes" on it, and it came back to life as something else! Since then, I’ve always painted black and white bands on American and British fighters. No matter what unheard of SF mecha it was, just adding these "invasion stripes" magically made it a military unit! This became the marking concept for Mospeada’s mecha. Dread 1 The "Dread" name for this Tread prototype is from Dreadnought. A block of propellant and engines to carry a Legioss from Mars to the Earth sphere... is what I was going for. Below is the first sketch drawn around 1983. I designed it in the style of the Nostromo from Alien but the director said it "doesn’t look like a flying mecha without wings!" so it was rejected. An unmanned mecha. It even transforms! Dread 2 The producer said "Can we have all the fighters transform?", so this is the 2nd version of the Dread I thought up. The first plan was for an "unmanned fighter", so there’s no cockpit! And of course, it transforms into a robot! Combining the Dread 1 and Dread 2 resulted in the final "Tread" design we all(?) know...

As if I needed any more evidence that I'm getting to be an old crank -- I prefer the vintage version to what they're showing would be a new modern day souped up Legioss-Tread combo. "Son - what is that?" "Its a combining fighter toy to a new show out of Japan called Mospeada II - The REALLY New Generation" "WHAT?! That's not a fighter combo, check this sucker out, its from a bankrupt company called Toynami wayy back in the day - sweet huh?" "Where did you dig up that ol' dinosaur dad?? Look, its hands have crumbled to nibs..." ---------------- Love the Box Art, but not buying. If Wave had done it in 1/48th as a W.H.A.M.! completed model I would be in love and jumped in...

HOLY MACKEREL! Saw it - 20 awesome parts, only about 5 stupid parts. STUPID - B. Widow in almost any / all combat. Crappy. Not believable, even in a super hero film. And the jump-up in the alien sled and fly around thing? Worst part of the film. What it this Ratatouille where you control the alien with knives in his back?? ARG!! I cried. Leave her on the hover craft, calling down orders or tips or something! And Hawkeye - shooting backwards and connecting? My 10 year old said - "Dad - that was dumb". AWESOME - Too many to list now --- BUT HULK - or good gosh - freeeeeking awesome. E. Norton Whoooo? Bet he was on vacation the opening weekend so he did not have to see what he passed up. He won't be friends with that friend that told him not to be Hulk in the at next 'bomb' they're coming out with. Ha. Great film, they accomplished the impossible making a bunch or super heroes coming together in one film actual cool... Loki Hulk scene at Stark Tower - the best part...

I just got a large CMs Patlabor Pickel baddie and posed it with my smaller Ingram revys and I think it works great. When you have off-scales I think it looks best to have the baddies TOO BIG - making them more menacing. Its not that you, or we, do not like the pods - its just that you have these valiant Valks are dwarfing these little rubber - quite unthreatening - enemy mechs. Maybe get a Hi-metal 1J and get those all grouped together...
