I agree with you. For these and the CF 1As it just looks darn nice to have more than one...

These can be had on Yahoo Japan for as low as 5,000 yen. But with middle-man fees and shipping it'll still be $100 bucks...

Hang on a second - for real?? I never realized the ejection port!!!

Looks like they could use that mecha designer over at Pacific Rim...

Does anyone know the least expensive place to get one of these now? Other than eBay?

Admittedly - It was an emotional reaction. I was shocked and let it fly. I have still not warmed to them at all. But like a few have stated, I would not want to be the one who had a great design that tried to get it through all the suits and committees onto the screen. Disctrict 9 managed to IMO, but obviously Del Toro is going for something else. I'll try not to let MW down next time, even if I'm short on time with my comments...

Great post - I agree. So yes, its easy to throw stones at these PR bot designs, but we have no idea the great ones the suits rejected on the way to the finals. "A committee is a cul de sac where great ideas are lured down and quietly strangled..."

OK OK - I will wait to see what they look like in action. I was just taken off guard. Thought with all the wait and build up the designs would strike me better right off the bat. I googled 'mecha design' and this freelancer is the very first image. It could start all types of opinion debates, but for me I would hire this guy over whoever they have sketching on the set of PR...

So I am ripping these designs for what they are - forgettable trash - and you call someone else on these boards a "hating douche". Thought we could have our own views, especially about Sci Fi without getting called childish names. So if someone on here REALLY likes these bots and that rubs me the wrong way I can start hurling insults? Not just a comic con fan, I'm saying I could find better ideas / designs being sketched in a local high school study hall. These are shockingly bad IMO. If that somehow offends you personally and you have to lash out at me I feel bad for you...

That sucks. Geez man, you could get a better design than that from a random fan at a comic con. Sheesh...

Have not heard about this story until today, and have not read the book obviously. But that trailer to a newbie is pretty killer...

A Beta chest cover could double as a bomber 'behind-the-cockpit' space filler, if one had the skill to craft such a thing. I know some on these boards do have that skill, we just have to get them to do it...

I do not have my 'Quake Putty' yet to affix these, or access to a V2. So Priss will have to do. The effect is not lined up exactly with her canon but you get the idea, with and without flash...

I had not heard before those types of comments on the DMZs. Heard they were the 'Schniz' except for price. For me, the microman pilot figures were unacceptable so I went with a few of the 1/12s. Like what you stated about them - their size + build quality = disaster. At best it makes them unruly to handle. At worst you want to shoot yourself if another piece pops off, or it simply collapses under its own weight. The review on the 35Max does nothing to make me want them. They look rubbery with heads that are FAR to big. No one noticed this at Max Factory before the roll out? Legs looks spindly, weathering not so good in the photos either. Bring on the Yamato reviews I cry - with all the goodness and badness they are...
