If Yamato wants to sell out of a future Destoid Phalanx and Spartan they need only do a 2 part hanger base display to sell with them. Really wish they would do full toy versions of these - web exclusives are fine, if they must...

Excellent OLD SCHOOL review Jenius! And for anyone wanting to see the series, here is a great deal on the metal box DVD set: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Anime-Votoms-Armored-Trooper-8-DVD-Tin-Box-Lot-Collection-Set-No-Bonus-Disc-/110997480300?pt=US_DVD_HD_DVD_Blu_ray&hash=item19d7f7236c

The Volks 1/8 is on my dream list... for retirement years most likely. You need about $1,500 to consider it though. Wonder what all the future grand kids will think someday when grandad is building giant death mecha instead of model train sets....

A 1/12 Brutishdog just went on evilBay for (only) $200, which is far better than the $800 and $900 listings seen recently. Its a model that the DMZs never got to...

Nice Yamato 1/12 Scope Dog review, as always Jenius. Think you said it best in these 2 sentences: "The proportions are fantastic, probably the best Scopedog sculpt to date." AND "Once something this big and heavy gets loose it becomes an absolute nightmare to handle and the fun factor goes flying out the window." SUPER impressive shelf piece, ZERO fun to handle. The Chirico pilot figure is what makes the line shine, so looking forward to future coverage of that...

Guillermo Del Toro’s ‘Pacific Rim'
DarrinG replied to fifbeat's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I like the difference in opinion here and celebrate the discussion. Good debates make forums interesting. For me, I've always like the personal craft idea, something fast and adventurous. From the small of Iron Man and Mospeada ride-armors, to Valks and Ingrams. The big-as-a-building, shared experience giant robot in Pacific Rim does not float my boat as much - so far. Will eventually see it and find out if they surprised me and I find this approach as equally appealing, only in a different way...- 1206 replies

Medicom/Hot Toys and all 1/6 scale figures
DarrinG replied to EXO's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
In that first pic there, he looks upset that he has to be wearing this 'get-up'. And is anxiously waiting for the dang photograpgher to hurry up and take the picture already... -
Guillermo Del Toro’s ‘Pacific Rim'
DarrinG replied to fifbeat's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
The trailer was entertaining, high production values, certainly does not look cheap. Appears to have some great moments but too much cheese. For me personally, if I had to fight giant monsters in the Pacific, I want something faster, less clunky. Give me monster-skin piercing missiles that can blow heads off and I'm ready to go. Look, here I am ready to launch...- 1206 replies

No no - was talking to EXO about the super secret, super pricey Mospeada thing to maybe come out next year. I know he would only be guessing, but wanted to know if it could still be vaporware. I'm betting it will be in the $500 range, whatever it is...

If you had to guess - what is the percentage of it becoming vaporware? 30% ? 50% ? Or does it really have greenlight production?

Found a stash of original box-arts trimmed out and mounted to Letramax professional acid free art board. They were also all in comic book bags, many are in stunning condition ready to frame. Its the only way to appreciate the extreme detail in some of the paintings. All have the Big West or other co. foil stickers. A few do have some spots or flaws but most are in excellent condition. The mounting is pretty incredible, making a heavy solid piece out of each. If someone wanted this art they would have to buy all the kits and hope the boxes weren't crunched up. Would think the set of 6 art 1/100 ones would be around $40 u think? Destroids about the same? Not sure - I need opinions. The 1/100 GBP covers are awesome. The artists for these were incredible. Thoughts?

I saw an Elint recently, but no SO. I watch for one for you. There are M&M valks for 50,000 yen each in case any high rollers are interested...

No - 5,000 Yen + commission + handling fee + shipping = about $100 But you'd have to wait and watch for an auction for 5,000 yen Cavaliers seem to range from 5,000 to 9,500...
