  1. This Collection DX review answers just that - with photo comparisons with the High Complete kit. http://www.collectiondx.com/toy_review/2011/lgaim_markii I really wish it did not transform. The mechanisms to do so compromise the leg strength and the whole figure feels a little loose and floppy - however it is an excellent sculpt and the extras make it a fun piece. Since the Robot Spirits are less expensive than the SPECs, I was not overly scared to panel line and have fun with them, which is a great feature of the Robot Spirits. Cheap(er) figs you can line and damage up if you want. Here are some pics of the Bandai Robot Spitits L-Gaim Mark II: ( last pic shows my panel lining and how much it helps the somewhat lifeless panels of gray, especially in the chest area ) ---------
  2. 1/60 Destoid Spartan with working flame thrower and grenade launcher...
  3. I went to the exact spot in the DVD and did a screen cap to grab the background. Then did a little photoshopping to extend the area and added in the red glow of the lights. Here is a series of screens I captured from that scene just for fun...
  4. The SPEC Mark I gets top shelf in my display, where as my 3 Robot Spirits figs are relegated to the closet. That tells you the difference in quality and materials between the lines...
  5. Sounds like I should avoid the end of the show then! I DO highly recommend the SPEC Mark I though - it can be had at pretty good prices now: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Bandai-Soul-of-Chogokin-SPEC-XS-10-L-Gaim-MK-I-/160512867835?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item255f4ffdfb (but I've seen them come up for as low as $50 or $60) Its a shame the SPEC line didn't live - "Then again - who does?!" ... Bandai L-Gaim Mark I
  6. Yes, by far. Its looks very 'forced' into a variable mecha IMO. The word GO-BOT keeps coming into my head whenever I see it in its 'battroid' mode. BUT - if they did a Flashback version I might spring for it and keep it proudly displayed in fighter mode all the time...
  7. There does not seem to be a thread for all things L-Gaim so this can be it. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heavy_Metal_L-Gaim I've watched the subbed series up to about half way. At first I did not think I would like it, but it was the often ZANY interaction between Kyao, Amu and Leccee that made me keep watching. Also the maniacal Gavlet character is lol funny. The series does seem ancient, but the Robot Spirits line seems to be doing quite well and is up to its 8th release in the line. With the Heavy Metal G-Roon about to come out. The Bandai SPEC L-Gaim Mark I is a far superior piece, but I guess that line was too expensive to try to keep alive - so we got the 'much-cheaper-to-make' RS instead. Here are some pics of the Robot Spirits Calvary Temple Hellmeene . . .
  8. Patlabor Ingram cel from the first OVA - 'Early Days'. I created a background complete with glow from the shoulder lights. Trying to decide whether I would frame the douga drawing with it to the right or not . . .
  9. I have these 3 Dangaioh cels I would also like to frame in that same style. I photoshopped the frame on to see how it would look...
  10. OK - I'm in. I would REALLY like to see a 1/48 and 1/32 GOSU made so I had better support this line...
  11. Here is my only framed cel so far - Mospeada hanken cel from the laser dic box art...
  12. Something about that auction just makes me suspicious about the authenticity...
  13. This eBay sale: http://www.ebay.com/itm/281192459479?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649
  14. Is this really from the last episode? Why is he in his amateur flight uni? http://www.ebay.com/itm/281192459479?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649
  15. WOW! Awesome ~ !
  16. - y a w n - .... Something exciting please ! How about a 1/60 Phalanx with missile launch base like this? I would wake up for that....
  17. Like so many others, some so-called sequels should not even be acknowledged. There is only Terminator 1 & 2 - no others. Alien and Aliens only. I mean - is Jar Jar Binks really part of Star Wars? Not my Star Wars. SO - With Dunbine, only the original series and the 3 part 'Sirbine' Neo Byston Well OVA are considered. I've seen some clips of the ones you speak of but I have already blocked them out...
  18. Those Chirico busts are ~ c r e e p y ~ ...
  19. I just saw this today - DRAT! http://www.ebay.com/itm/Robot-Spirits-Bandai-Damashii-120-Aura-Battler-Dunbine-Ships-from-USA-FREE-SHIP-/321228604872?pt=US_Action_Figures&hash=item4acab785c8 $39.93 NEW? That is a great price in case anyone is curious and wants to take the plunge. This feels like a $60 figure or more IMO...
  20. After picking up a Robot Spirits Billbine I looked for a Dunbine thread to post some pics and could not find one. So here can be all things Aura Battler Dunbine if anyone has anything to add (after all these years). I've watched episodes 1-9 and am really enjoying it. I LOVE the horses and medieval world mixed with the Battler Machines, its a great contrast. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aura_Battler_Dunbine For those not familiar with the series --- an earthling (from the future?) is pulled into Byston Well to make sophisticated machines for warring kingdoms. The new Aura Battlers are run best by those from 'upper earth' because they have strong aura energy to make them go. They are partly made from creatures of this world, using living muscle and other pieces. The main character is pulled into this alternate dimension and into the adventure. ANYHOW - Here is a quick take on Bandai's Robot Spirits Billbine. • Its GREAT • Although its my first Billbine toy, I believe I can say its likely the best to date • Having a few L-Gaim RSs - this is better. Joints are tighter, quality better and they even panel lined some parts to bring it alive • The sword SWOOSH effect is fantastic! Really like the trend of including thruster and weapons effects with these collectables • Recommended...
  21. I would be in for both, price be darned - so perhaps I'm not sensible. But The 1/32 GOSU would appeal to all your previous 'Ultimate Legioss' customers, whereas this 1/10 Inbit might be fishing in a new pond for interested parties. So I said all this to say please float the idea of the 1/32 GOSU out there someday to test the reaction...
  22. I hope Cap with float the idea of a 1/32 GOSU kit if he does not get enough interest in the 1/10 Inbit 'Protector" ...
