Macross World Podcast - feedback & comments
Bariaburu Faita replied to Tochiro's topic in Movies and TV Series
I believe that in order to qualify to be put on itunes as a podcast it will have to be free of overly sexual content. Which is fine with me, it is fairly easy to google macross hentai dojinshi and find scans in the usual places. I would rather cover the non hentai and mecha based dojin that dont show up on google searches.- 1147 replies

Someday if there is enough interest, I would like to do a more complete podcast on Macross Doujinshi.- 1147 replies

Where in Japan are you? If you can get to Tokyo or Osaka we can show you where Yamato valks are still in stock.
-
What about the gecard promotional 1/48 that only 3 of were made? And I think there was an essay contest valk that was also single digit production run.

What Current Anime Are You Watching Version v4.0
Bariaburu Faita replied to wolfx's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I agree, the animation effects make it look like a beam. But this is normal for depicting railguns in anime. for example in gundam seed the freedom gundam had hip mounted railguns that shot beams. -

Dunno, this seems about right: http://muvluv.wikia.com/wiki/EML-99X_Electromagnetic_Induction_Launcher but I watched a fansub that called it a radiation gun, so might be a confused fan translator in the one you watched. -
The wafer cards are quite the rip off. Before you would buy a pack of cards, and get 1 rare, 3 uncommon and 5 commons. Now, you buy 1 pack and get 1 card. Supposedly offset by getting a stale flavorless wafer. They are nice clear plastic, but smaller than standard card size.

This may be a little offtopic, but I noticed that when MacF fist started there were several dojin with Grace appearing, but after episode 16 aired there were almost none. Her popularity seemed to nosedive after that, that could be a factor in the lack of Grace figures.

actually im wrong, it should be going on pre-order on the 20th not for actual sale.

My thoughts on the "Go for Broke" Dojin. Very poor print quality, looks like photographs pasted to a page and xeroxed, uneven hand binding. All these qualities I approve of greatly, its a true fan made book. Most dojin these days are slick professional looking books that the circle has no interest in, just its what is most likely to sell. Also a plus is the rarity, with the low print run combined with lack of presence in the usual consignment stores like toranoana and k-books.

Cant offer it up for pre-order via proxy until after the 20th when they announce all the other details, like how many you can order, the domestic shipping costs, payment options, etc,... Which will all affect the actual cost to buy it.

and yes, its a Touhou Project and Macross Plus crossover in the upper right hand corner. There is also one with a YF-21 on the cover.

If you have any questions about the dojin we posted, please feel free to ask here. Will be faster than podcasting a question on a different site.

From the recent Comiket 82. The circle uses kitbashed model kits to tell a story, and has a section on recent mospeada related items.

Whew, that was worse than wonderfest for crowds and lines. Managed to pick up some Macross Doujinshi for some MW members, here is the haul:

Anything that Yamato sells directly is only to Japanese addresses. After they supply wholesale they no longer have direct control over who buys them. Some may favor domestic sellers over those known to sell overseas, and vice versa.

Macross is a special case. Most other toy lines do not have the licensing difficulties that it does.

There are still a small number on shelves here in Japan, but rare to find at a discount. Price usually around 14,700 yen. It is not a conspiracy to keep these out of filthy gaijin hands. It is because they are licensed for sale only in Japan. Bandai is required to follow the law.

I asked a yamato rep and he said final price was not set. "Will probably be 20,000 yen plus 5-6,000 maybe more. Will try to keep it under 30,000.

Bandai was considering making a 1/100 scale VF-2SS toy, but canceled it along with the entire VF100 line. Yamato is very unlikely to make a VF2-SS, we have asked many times and were told no.

In addition to CurioCraftUSAN re-releasing their Iiga and Graub resin kits at the summer wonderfest coming up, we have ARCADIA releasing a 1/72 resin kit of a Gosu.

If only we had members living in TOKYO who could HUNT rare items for us and SAVE us from this dilemma
-
These are pre-assembled resin kits. They are expensive because they require more time and skill to assemble than a regular toy, and the moulds have to be made every 20 units. And only 20 are allowed to be sold at a time, so development costs are not spread out as much.
