what about the right shoulder hinge, on the top too in b-mode? i think epoxy would be better coz it'll act as a filler to the crack. i don't think you'll be able to glue and then press the two sides of the crack together. that might just make it worse.

wow, first 1A casualty... are the pins' thicker spur side on the same side? top or bottom? i don't have the 1A.

recently bought a standalone YF-19 and the gunpod is mounted straight and landing gear is ok... still not as tight as the new 1/60 VF-1's... the usual floppiness between transformations but pretty stable in its different modes. but i'm not sure what HLJ has...
-
saw that... didn't buy it though, it's about twice or three times the size of the gasha...

well, i just transformed it and it certainly looks like the hinge is the same except for the color... but looking at the hinge and looking at how the pin is inserted (not like on my 1S where the spur end has some seam lines on the plastic as if the pin was forced), at least for me, it seems that its sturdier on the 1J. i know it just maybe psychological on my part but it really does seem fixed... i know only Yamato can really answer this but i doubt they will admit that they screwed up with the first batch of 1S's. looking at my 1J, my 1S will stay in battroid forever w/ shoulders intact, coz it seems to me that the breakage occurs when being transformed back to fighter, i think while tucking it in under the swing bar, coz i think if the pin was indeed inserted incorrectly the stress it takes when the two pieces of plastic are pressed together is what's breaking it. just my opinion... the 1J looks great... i think i'm going to put on it's FPs now... BTW, i did loosen the shoulders coz they're on pretty tight!

got my 1J a couple of days ago but only inspected it... got it from hk and haven't had time to play w/ it. (btw, OT, but i gotta say, i think every macross or toy collector in general should get the chance to go toy hunting/shopping in hk, it's absolutely awesome... very tiring, but awesome! the savings alone will cover part if not the whole cost of your plane ticket, and you get to visit a very cool place for tourists.) ...i removed the head and saw that the spur end of the shoulder hinge pin is on the same side for both shoulders (not sure about the 1A coz i don't have it). if the breakages are isolated for the focker 1S i think its because of the previously mentioned incorrectly inserted hinge pin... maybe the first batch of hinges that Yamato got were defective but got installed on the 1S just the same (BAD Yamato!)... if that's the case, then it is a QC thing. i agree that the design is weaker than the 1/48's but it should be stable enough provided the hinge pin is correctly inserted. will transform later to confirm but i think in battroid the spur end should be on the bottom.

so, does the breakage/fracture/crack happen while posing or transforming??? i myself haven't transformed my 1S back to fighter ever since this shoulder hinge thing started happening...

i think he's talking about this : "Yamato 1/60 Version 2.0 Roy Fokker VF-1S...best money I've spent yet! If you're sitting there thinking "I don't need the new 1/60's, my 1/48's are better!", you're dead wrong" ...on his sig...

alot of people here locally are actually selling off their 1/48 1A's. and yeah the new 1/60 1A is selling pretty slow here too. i guess people are skipping it for the Hikky 1S that's coming out soon.

spring system? really? my v2 1S Roy head doesn't seem to have that spring thing... the head itself can actually look down and you can exaggerate the "looking down" action by using that grey part where the head is connected to.

i thought it would be pics of the actual FPs of your new 1J... guess the wife still has the camera held hostage ... well, i'll take your word for it that it is actually lighter in color... i hope your optimism holds true...

the term "TOO expensive" is relative... relative to how much money you have. if you have TOO much money to spend, nothing is TOO expensive for you... - simple man's logic

Yamato 1/60 VF-11b under development

i was wondering why the vf-25 thread slowed down... this thread might get to 100+ pages too before x-mas... -
is this what you're looking for? - Link

just nitpicking ... i think the boosters are on the wrong side (left, right). the crosses should be showing on the outside. well, i put mine the other way around. it's one hell of a BIG bird ain't it.

Congrats on getting Nora... love the color and wicked in fighter mode and gerwalk mode. Re the adapter... you can actually use either the one for fighter (w/ 4 inserts) or the one for gerwalk (w/ 2). of course the one for fighter is more secure but the one for gerwalk is secure enough and easier to put on. to put it inside Nora ... you just need to spread her legs and thighs to be able to put it in . (for the thighs, you just need to angle them outward until it disconnects from the main body a little and then slide in the adapter.)

funny thing for me w/ the 1/48 is that what attracts it to me is what is prohibiting me from getting more (only have 1 and going the 1/60 v2 route)... the size. it is definitely better in fighter mode because of the sheer size, but because of it's size, it is more expensive and takes up so much space esp. in fighter mode coz of its length and wingspan... gotta get a bigger house if i will get the 1/48s, but then i won't have any more dough to spend for toys

liking it... can't wait...

Welcome to MW... PM'd you.

21 is pretty hard to pose standing w/ the small feet esp. when the ankles are fully extended as it should be in b-mode. i think the included stand w/c is the same w/ the sv-51's is just a way to charge for more $$$ BTW, has anybody bought the supposed "re-stock/re-issue" of the standalone YF-19 that was (and still is) made available again on Yamato's website a couple of months ago? I heard from one local shop that its supposed to be w/ the fixes according to correspondence from Yamato... but i want to make sure from somebody who's bought one recently...
