  1. problem with ordering outside the PH is that you'll be gouged by customs... + 12-15% of your total bill (shipping included)!... or lagay.
  2. don't worry about the dec. re-issue VF-0S bro... the guy i get it from in HK said there's a lot of stock left and there's no need to worry about it getting sold out... i'm pretty sure GT will get their stocks soon. if i'm right it will be priced around P8,500 (less discount if paid in cash), same as the 0A mr. Fatalist bought.
  3. LMFAO! hahaha... oo nga eh! uwi ka naman dito!
  4. 360 grit sandpaper (tira tira lang ) , against a hard surface.
  5. naibalik ko na sa Valk yung hinges. the only pics i have are the ones with the pin halfway out a few pages back. they still look the same when reinserted. but i made sure to sand it to at least the same diameter (if not less) as the rest of the smooth section of the pin. i'll try to take pics when i do the hinges for my 1J, my hands are a little sore pa coz it's a bit hard to push out the pin and be careful not to break it at the same time.
  6. i reinserted the pins by pushing it vertically straight down against the middle of my precision longnose pliers but i guess any hard object will do.
  7. he lives!!!! absolutely superb twilight shot! LOL!!! "UN SPANCY"!
  8. my hikky 1J pilot is in my 1S (together w/ the TV FPs) since you don't really need a pilot figure when the valk is in battroid mode... and my 1/60 1J will stay in battroid for the time being waiting for his GBP armor.
  9. better fix it before it gets worse...
  10. i meant sad for Simon... he didn't get to use his other drill on Nia...
  11. the squashed heads for one.
  12. but they look so much better when they're not...
  13. na-skip kita siguro dun sa Pinoy MWers thread ... back to english baka magalit mods... now i also have no more worries getting more of these v.2 VF-1's and according to Graham, Yamato will be flooding us w/ lots of them. Good times indeed for Macross Fans!
  14. so far i've done 4 hinges and posed and transformed (i tried to be as rough as i can)... no signs of cracking and no more stress marks. "pare"... you're "pinoy"? if so "walang anuman" (translation - you're welcome.)
  15. weathered Hikaru 1S for me.
  16. Viral got all the remaining lifespans of all the beastmen that died...
  17. this is the only 1A that's been done that i wan't... of course if they come out w/ a non-exclusive 1/60 Max TV 1A , i'd get that too weathered 1/60 valks for regular folks like us would be great too. $300-500 for weathering a valk is something i would never pay for.
  18. hope the 1D comes out by valentine's day
  19. good news for MISB collectors...
  20. the shoulder hinge is NOT a replacement, it's the one that came w/ my 1S... no crack, just tiny stress marks around the fat end of the pin. i just finished sanding down the fat end of the pin and reinserted it back... it is still pretty tight, no worries whatsoever that the pin will slip out on its own, 0% chance... tested it by closing and opening the hinge continuously many times and i even cranked it... seems fine... even the slight bulge it had near where the stress mark was and the stress mark seems to have disappeared! ... i have put as much stress on it, pulling the two parts in different directions, as much as i possibly can w/o forcibly breaking it... and its still fine.
  21. 1st run Roy 1S. Well, Graham did confirm that Yamato did not change the material used for the hinges, and i doubt that they will. The cheapest solution for Yamato is to change the pin... only on the fat end of the pin is there a chance of cracking/breaking... the other "normal diameter" end of the pin seems to have no problem whatsoever notwithstanding what kind of plastic is used.
  22. i will be doing this fix on all the shoulder hinges of all my v.2 VF-1's... it will help me sleep better at night!
  23. when i heard about new reported breakages on the v.2 1/60 Roy 1S, i checked out my Roy 1S shoulder hinges and found some tiny stress marks around the fat end of the pin. it's one of two related things - the plastic is too thin around the fat end of the pin or the fat end of the pin is too FAT. so i proceeded to dismantle my 1S and got the stressed shoulder hinge and soaked it in some gun oil (i guess any lubricant will do.... except 5eX lube ) hoping that it would make it easier to push the pin out. IT WORKED! (see pics) now i will be sanding down the offending chunky part of that hinge pin...
  24. i see somebody is enjoying their valk (w/ a minor hiccup) more than a piece of paper w/ a pic of Ben Franklin on it...
  25. wow, more casualties... one of the shoulder hinges on my Roy 1S has some itsy-bitsy stress marks around the fat end of the pin... afraid to transform him anymore... any materials engineers here know how to reinforce plastics??? something that can be applied like paint??? Yamato should just put in a pin that doesn't have a fat end... only on that end are the cracks/breakages/stress marks happening. if they don't want to do another mold for thicker plastic parts then that's what they should do.
