was cleaning my cab and decided to take a quick pic of my SOCs and others before i put them back (apologies for the crappy pic)... it's not much, since i only get the ones that really appeal to me and i can actually remember from my childhood days... i just need an SOC Gunbuster and a Mazinkaiser (hard to find these w/ fair prices these days)... and of course the new Shin Maz SOC...

yeah, that too... and while we're at it... that scene where Hik saved Minmay when his 1D's arm got blown off was so epic that they had to re-create it in Frontier w/ Alto and Ranka... and the seat thing ... sorry, just being OC again...

yeah, i respect the fact that you'd want your review to be as objective as possible and not just for us OCD/@n@l hardcore Macross fans, lol ... guess, i just love the 1D so much that i would've given it a biased 10/10...

you have to hear a "click" when the chest is pushed down as far as its supposed to go and when it's in that position there will be a mini "priest collar" visible and the black part/outline of the cockpit should be completely covered by the heatshield... ... i like reviews w/ scores... i just though the 1D would get a +0.5 for "Charm and Collectability" or something just because its not exactly the same as the 1S (and 1J) and as mentioned in the review, it is the first mass produced PT VF-1D after all... well, it is up to the reviewer after all, however, i still liked reading Jenius' review/s esp. the comparison part since i have only seen the v.1 1D in person inside its box. very informative and well said.

yeah, love that too... out of the three, that's the one i want the most... still can't get over the fact that the TTGL, Arc and Chogingga are supposed to be really massive yet just as big (or small) as Revo GL... hope Gurren comes w/ two Laganns, one w/ arms and legs and the other head+drill... the boots killed it for me... lol ... and that waist bend i really hope Kaiyodo makes a King Kittan and a Fraulein-dude Kamina fig... and what's up with that Figma dude w/ breasts??!?!?!?!? LOL

nice review... no score? you mentioned in your review that your 1J's legs don't click all the way forward... maybe you just forgot to extend the legs at the knee joint coz i noticed in the b-mode comparison pic that the 1D is a bit taller than the 1S coz it's legs are extended whereas the 1S's are not... just an observation... EDIT - also noticed that the chest is not locked down properly... i forgot this too until yesterday, but i think i prefer it not locked down fully so that the mini priest collar doesn't show...

the shoulder armor is very easy to remove even if it's glued together... the tabs that keep it in place are very shallow... just make sure to lift up both side simultaneously, then slide it out... actually, the two parts that comprise the shoulder armor are very weakly glued together, if you put too much force the two parts will come apart. hope this helps...

my guess is it's coz of the change w/ the shoulder hinge pin... i hope this delay won't set back the Max and Kaki TV release dates...

and we have a winner... yeah, i saw that right before i took those pics, but i had the idea and everything ready weeks before. that's why i was so antsy to get my 1D... even tried that and the detachable arm thing with my 1S... ... my shaky hands make me bad at applying stickers and panel-lining... but i might try that pro-modellers wash one of these days... @NB4M - that custom kit is genius...

most probably... but i only looked at the hinges more closely using a loupe after the mod... but i'm pretty sure they were there already, its just very hard to see w/ the naked eye.

sorry bro, guess most of us don't have even one of these things... but i did mention that i saw (and almost bought) one of the glossy slipped-covered ones in HK last Dec. going for around $300... and i heard recently that there are some of the latest re-issues available in HK for around ~$248... i just might grab me one if the price is still the same or lower when i go back there later this year...

i wish Yamato would just provide extra parts to recreate that scene even if it's just clip-on accessories...

thanks, man... yeah, this was what i had in mind while i was waiting for my 1D... i just had to do it... those 2 scenes in ep.2 have been etched in my mind since the 80's... no secret... just look for a toy car who's seats are just the right size for the pilot fig and can easily be disassembled...

hinge that connects the chest and the metal part/LERX where the cockpit/fuselage slides in? that's weird... no cracks or stress marks here...

things that i've noticed w/ the 1D - the serrations on one side of the pin for the shoulder hinge are unnoticeable compared to my other v2s... there are slight discolorations on the plastic on the front side of the shoulder armor likely due to them rubbing against each other in Fighter mode. i noticed this on my 1S after a few transformations and figured it was because of the black paint... love the color!... it's just screaming to be noticed... no cracked hinges, everything is tight all around... my new fave valk...

i was thinking of disassembling the seat from my other VFs at first... but i figured one of my cheap $10 TF classics would do and would be less risky... can you guess who the seats are from???
