thanks... thanks... still learning... the challenge for me now is providing good indoor lighting in our very dimly lit house... might need to buy some stuff...

thanks! took me a little while to figure it out. yep. technically it's my wife's cam, i just chipped in a little so i can get to use it sometimes on my toys ... unfortunately, it's not a DSLR coz we couldn't really afford to buy additional lenses coz we mainly plan to use it to photograph the kids from a good distance, like, the back row of an auditorium or from a beach shore to 20-30 ft out... but we're still having fun playing around w/ it esp. fiddling w/ all the manual settings... i can finally sort of understand all that talk about iso, aperture, shutter speed etc. lol .

just fooling around...

i have only been reading this thread since the title is a bit intimidating... esp. for photography newbies who don't own a DSLR (and don't really want to take the plunge due to the foreseeable massive costs involved after getting the starter kit) ... however, i appreciate the lessons and tips and the really nice pictures that have been posted so far... i have never really been into photography, but i really appreciate looking at nice photographs... here's a couple that i particularly like that were taken w/ our new "soccer mom" cam. while i find it easier to shoot outdoors, i have to admit that shooting indoors w/out the use of a flash is a lot harder, esp. when your place doesn't have a spot which is very well lit.

looking more closely, i noticed that the 21's head turret came out looking like it was made from solid gold... nice.

yeah... my wife suggested it coz all of them have some bright red parts... really need to get off my lazy @ss and start building a makeshift lightbox for taking pics, esp. now that the rainy season is starting here... still deciding whether Max needs it or not... my wallet is heavily protesting it... yeah, grew up watching Voltes V and Daimos on TV when i was a kid. got the Volt-in-Box version but sold it coz i preferred the anime accurate one. still might get one later on if it goes on clearance. -
woohoo!!! <---- for my kids... they absolutely love Toy Story 1 & 2 and that Buzz Lightyear cartoon... they watch it, like, 10-15 times a week! they even asked me to buy this Toy Story gasha/action fig set w/ Woody, Buzz, Jessie, Zurg and 2 LGMs...

some new collection pics of re-arranged old stuff (only the 1S Max is new... ) can't wait to get my VF-11B... only 2 weeks to go... ... and the non-Macross gang. -
sorry man, but that pic of the Revo 1J and Regults made me cringe a little... looks like a gang rape scene but good idea w/ those pinpoint barrier thingys on the SDF-1.

answering the question - Would you buy a v2.0 1/60 YF-19? YES... even if they make it 5-10 years from now? YES... if it comes out as tight and sturdy in all modes as the v2.0 1/60 VF-1s? Definitely YES... if they manage to take a chunk off of that gullet? Hell YEAH! the YF-19 is still my fave Hero Valk... and the only thing keeping the VF-1 tied w/ it is nostalgia. but right now, i'm pretty happy w/ my 19 (as long as i don't compare it to my other valks )... esp. after fiddling with it some, i've managed to figure out how to put it back snugly in fighter mode even w/ the FPs on and w/out anything popping off or getting loose. i can even hold it by the side of its legs and swoosh it around some . of course i'm always scared sh!tless whenever somebody reports a problem...

question to those who use the stand adapter for b-mode... does it in anyway hamper the movement of the hip joint? (sorry, mine are all in their respective boxes and in storage)
-
the 1st pic has the wings closed or almost closed coz the swing bar is disconnected to the backplate. the 2nd pic w/ the swing bar connected properly, the wings are partially open coz the stand adapter is in the way...
-
was planning to get one of the clear ones and even a blue one when it's released, but now i think i'll stick w/ my Bandai Action Base 1 stands and flexys... the bandai stand is pretty good for b-mode aerial poses w/out having to leave the wings open. Flexys are, of course, the best for f-mode...

yep, i still really like staring at my 1/60 YF-19 coz i really liked staring at it in the anime... another reason why i still like my 19 coz it is the only YF-19 worth having right now... and while i'm w/ everybody in hoping that Yamato does make a 1/60 version 2 down the road, i'm doubting that they will anytime soon.

they can delay the M&Ms all they want, just make sure that when they come out they will be sporting the "not so new" improved crotch attachment mechanism a la 1/48...
