yeah Grand Cannon's page is where i usually look to plus the official Bandai site. Finally found a good deal on a Q-Rea... not new but comes w/ set of three Stage Act clear stands for only US$22. and speaking of the RD Q-Rea, amiami just restocked this... they currently have 6 pcs left in case anybody is interested esp. since they extended their 50% off s/h up to end of March. as for those just getting into these figures, i can't wait to hear your reactions when you realize that Bandai has gone totally insane with all the exclusives they've released and have yet to release for this line...

even if they don't do the other characters in Armor Plus Ex-Gear format, they should make them for the SHFiguarts Origin line (non Kamen Rider) since that's what the base Alto figure actually is. Sheryl in flightsuit would be a prime candidate though for another exclusive...

pretty close to what i predicted. i think that'll be the standard price unless you have some friend in Japan willing to get one for you and not charge you any service fee. you can try this guy if he will be getting the green VF-27. He usually sells exclusives only. The "buy it now" price would proly be the same as tokyohunter's, but he sometimes "auctions" at least 1 if he has multiples and the item isn't selling fast.

just make sure you lubricate it enough that the oil has seeped into the hole where the knurling is. there's a huge difference between trying to push out a pin w/ knurling w/out oiling it up first vs. w/ oil (and also a pin w/out knurling is easy as pie to push out). the fact remains that whatever the percentage of cracked/broken hinges there are for the side of the hinge w/ the knurled part of the pin... - part of the hinge w/ the smooth part of the pin for the ones w/ knurling = 0 breakages - hinges w/ totally smooth pins = 0 breakages if it keeps bugging you and you just can't let it be, just try it out...

yeah, they're not the most stable but i've had my 1/60 v.2 VF-1S's displayed using the Action Base 1 stands for more than a year now and they've never fallen off on their own or even if i shake my cab w/ some controlled force. (although i'm cheating w/ the one in f-mode since it is additionally supported by the back panel and the side glass panel by its wings ).

(took awhile for that to load) damn! amputee VF-11C right out of the box! good thing you live in Japan.

+1 for the flexis. they have a new site dedicated to selling the flexi-stands... i don't think the site is live/completed so they don't want it made public yet... but i'm sure they're gonna advertise it here as soon as they're ready. the generic Bandai Action Base 1 stands can be used for the v.2 VF-1s and i think another member (WickedAce) here has some pic/s of his VF-25F using this stand (although the DX might be too heavy for it if displayed for a long period of time)... they're not as great as the flexis but for ~$5 each, it works for me.

anybody got the dimensions of the box from amiami? and the box for the poster goes inside the bigger box w/ the Vf-27 in it, right?

nice review... i didn't realize it until peaugh mentioned it, but is that "tail" of the VF-27 in battroid really not present in the anime? does the model kit have that "tail" or is it all removable as part of the shield?
