  1. wow, is it just me or are those pics just keep getting bigger and bigger...
  2. heh, i like the background more than the Regult...
  3. this'll do...
  4. just make sure you lubricate it enough that the oil has seeped into the hole where the knurling is. there's a huge difference between trying to push out a pin w/ knurling w/out oiling it up first vs. w/ oil (and also a pin w/out knurling is easy as pie to push out). the fact remains that whatever the percentage of cracked/broken hinges there are for the side of the hinge w/ the knurled part of the pin... - part of the hinge w/ the smooth part of the pin for the ones w/ knurling = 0 breakages - hinges w/ totally smooth pins = 0 breakages if it keeps bugging you and you just can't let it be, just try it out...
  5. hehe... says the guy who's first pic of his VF-11B was this :
  6. yeah, they're not the most stable but i've had my 1/60 v.2 VF-1S's displayed using the Action Base 1 stands for more than a year now and they've never fallen off on their own or even if i shake my cab w/ some controlled force. (although i'm cheating w/ the one in f-mode since it is additionally supported by the back panel and the side glass panel by its wings ).
  7. (took awhile for that to load) damn! amputee VF-11C right out of the box! good thing you live in Japan.
  8. +1 for the flexis. they have a new site dedicated to selling the flexi-stands... i don't think the site is live/completed so they don't want it made public yet... but i'm sure they're gonna advertise it here as soon as they're ready. the generic Bandai Action Base 1 stands can be used for the v.2 VF-1s and i think another member (WickedAce) here has some pic/s of his VF-25F using this stand (although the DX might be too heavy for it if displayed for a long period of time)... they're not as great as the flexis but for ~$5 each, it works for me.
  9. anybody got the dimensions of the box from amiami? and the box for the poster goes inside the bigger box w/ the Vf-27 in it, right?
  10. cool, thanks... the way he said it in his video review made it seem like it wasn't.
  11. nice review... i didn't realize it until peaugh mentioned it, but is that "tail" of the VF-27 in battroid really not present in the anime? does the model kit have that "tail" or is it all removable as part of the shield?
  12. did you try to insert the knurled pin in the much tighter holes of the inner piece/part of the 2-part hinge also?
  13. oh yeah... and also forgot about "made in China" oh well, guess that's what KY jelly is for, so it won't hurt as much when you have no choice but to take it up the arse...
  14. but isn't that what QC/QA is for?
  15. well, i'm assuming it was smooth end first coz that's the obvious logical way to do it... the other way would be massively dumb! maybe some factory worker was thinking "head in first!!!" coz he was daydreaming that he was having... ...or if it were an all female assembly line, maybe they thought it was some di1do that went into the hole...
  16. lubricate it w/ baby oil before pushing the pin out. ...and i don't believe that pushing it out stresses the plastic, in fact it relieves the stress coz after you take the pin out, some of the whitish stress marks disappear. what stresses out the plastic is the knurling that's bulging the plastic from inside the hole. but yeah, having knurled pins doesn't equate to a 100% chance of it breaking/cracking. it's all up to you if you want to do it or not.
  17. it was by Konami. well, everybody was expecting a SOC GL... as for the scale, i hope it's 1/100... coz if it's 1/144 its only gonna be as tall or maybe a little taller than the revoltech GL.
  18. on the scans it says "Composite Ver. Ka" only for the Albion and Gurren Lagann... whereas for the 0 Gundam right below, it clearly states it's part of the "G.F.F. Metal Composite" line and (the last scan states) that it'll be in 1/100 scale. http://www.toy-world.com.hk/forum/viewthre...;extra=page%3D1
  19. the VF Hi-Metal VF-1s could very possibly be cheaper than the VF-19, but expect the Super Parts, SSParts and/or GBP armor to be web exclusives.
  20. so, i've been asking around and still haven't gotten anything.... what scale are these Lancelot Albion and Gurren Lagann GFF Composite ver. Ka figures at, 1/100 (like the metal composite) or 1/144 (like the normal GFFs/GFFNs)?
  21. yeah, it will be sold to Japanese residents ONLY at that price, w/out the normal dist. discount that retailers usually get... so, good luck getting it for lower than 16800JPY x 130%... EDIT - my bad... the 50-100% mark-up is usually for smaller/cheaper items like the Robot Damashii exclusives. 30-40% would be about right for these more expensive figures like the DX VF-27... probably around $240-250 like the VF-25F Fold Clear ver. w/c retailed @ 1500JPY and is selling for $220-230.
  22. here's a link - http://www.toy-world.com.hk/forum/viewthre...;extra=page%3D1
  23. well, amiami just restocked the Vf-27 w/ "plenty"...
  24. LOL, that's one way of looking at it...
  25. those are VF-25 Supers w/ the 3600 EMS s/h... bigger box... which leads back to the question - "why is the VF-27 priced the same as a VF-25 w/ Super Packs and stand?"
