  1. it's great that they got the head placement right, but it's at the expense of having a larger gap between the chest and the thighs/intakes. they should add some side covers so it won't be too noticeable. but then again, that would probably be included w/ the webshop exclusive GBP add-on set.
  2. RDs are good... although some figs suffer from some sloppy paint application. The Stark Jegan is plenty awesome ... i might also get me an Eva-01 after seeing some nice reviews of it. GNUs are nice to look at... articulation not so good and pretty lacking in accessories esp. extra hands. but i like 'em since i'm more of an aesthetic/for display collector. I wouldn't mind it if Yamato made GNUs of all the valks they've released in 1/60 scale, i.e. M&M VF-22S (since i don't see myself being able to afford the 1/60 versions) and throw in Gamlin's VF-22S and his VF-17D too... and a GNU VF-19 Fire Valk too... (sorry for being OT).
  3. haha... you actually made it look quite decent! ... but the best part about that toy is the pilot fig w/ the juggernaut helmet! LOL too bad you got ripped off by EMS customs in Manila... those sharks! ... i had to pick up my RD Q-Rea Pixie there last week but i was lucky that they were kinda lax that day... the lady ahead of me got away w/ just paying $20 for a bnew laptop! i paid only Php35 for my small package ... a tip - if you have a provincial address or a friend that lives outside Manila, better to have it sent there... 98% of the time, you'll only need to pay the customary P35 customs fee. then just have it sent via local air courier to your address in Manila... it'll come out cheaper... but yeah, great custom job right there... EDIT - i see it also has the same no-neck problem as the real DX Ozma... maybe that Wave balljoint kit they're talking about in the other thread might help with that...
  4. me too! i almost picked one up when i got my VF-27 w/ poster from Sino. ...it was the "SWS" marking that made me decide not to get it... so, what's the real score w/ that "SWS" thing??? an April fools prank??? and about this add-on set being another web exclusive... my gut tells me that there's a 99% chance of that being true...
  5. very cool effects w/ the VF-27 there! ... and that IS a very awesome looking shot of Vegas, Vegas!
  6. i actually wouldn't mind it if Bandai made Robot Damashii battroid figs of all the valks they were planning to do for the VF100 line... esp. since smaller scale transformable valks usually equate to parts-swapping and the larger 1/60 scale PTs are getting to be really expensive and often associated w/ cracking/breaking/loose hinges and joints.
  7. did some rearranging to accommodate some new stuff... Ranka no panties! - http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4024/454756...78f29f603_o.jpg i would gladly welcome 1/60 PT versions of these two VF-X2 valks from Yamato...
  8. i finally had some time to take my 2 week old DX VF-27 out of it's box... anybody else here think that the DX 27's fighter mode looks off?... it's like i want it to be longer, just like my SV-51... the nose/cockpit part looks short and stubby when viewed from the top. I think i have to rewatch MacF and check out the 27... it may have been moving too damn fast in the anime, i'm kinda confused about how it should look like ... i was supposed to display this in f-mode but now i'm thinking i have to transform it and display it in either gerwalk or battroid. honestly, (not taking into account the landing gears) in f-mode, the DX 25 w/out SPs or Armor looks better for me than the DX 27...maybe, subconsciously, i never really liked the design of the 27 f-mode to begin with . but i have to admit, based on the pics i've seen, in battroid mode the DX 27 looks 100x better than a bare DX 25 w/ those ankles fully extended ... i do love the color and all the markings... and i like the clicky locking tabs for the wings... EDIT - i also really, really like the detail and gimmick of the BFG... i think i should transform it this weekend.
  9. so, you weren't actually being sarcastic when you said those landing gears are "awesome".... hhhmmm, interesting.
  10. oh yeah... didn't notice that at first... sucks! so w/c one's worse, the DX 25 landing gears or these... blu-tack... so.... where are the prototype pics for the 1/60 Yamato????
  11. are those 2 separate products/releases? still web exclusive?
  12. after holding off from buying any expensive Macross items for the past 5-6 months... i finally got me a 1/60 VF-27... yay!... and a VF-25F Tornado too. also got me a couple of "monster" items. i also finally got myself a 1/60 VF-1J M&M set. BIG THANKS to ff95gj for helping me out in acquiring a couple of these items... and then some! i hope i can find some time to take these out of their boxes... and space to display them!
  13. http://schizophonic9.com/robotmessiah.html http://schizophonic9.com/robotqueadluun.html ...just use google translate...
  14. awesome deal... i wish somebody would make a SDF-1 at least the same size as the quarter and slash 47% off on it's price ...
  15. at least it was easily remedied w/ the use of a non-knurled pin (0 reports of cracks/breakages w/ totally smooth pins and the non-knurled end of the pin for the initial releases). PLUS most of us we're able to get replacements... ...whereas compared to the same thinness of the DX VF-25's hinges that connect the chest to the shoulder plate to the backplate, w/c has been seen to break w/ the weight of the Super/Armor packs on the valk. also, the v.2 VF-1's shoulder hinge is an independent part that can possibly be made thicker in the case that replacing the pin w/ a totally smooth one didn't work. On the VF-25, i believe the hinges are thin coz they needed to fit the shoulder/arm assembly, the neck and head inside when it's in fighter mode.
  16. easiest way is to just re-release the existing VF-1S w/ an extra TV style pilot figure. no web exclusives please! ...that's if Yamato is gonna be totally lazy about this... or just wait for EXO to sell TV Roy pilot figs.
  17. i think Bandai knew that the hinges that connect the chest to the shoulder plates and then to the backplate would be prone to breaking w/ the Armor on since they included (out of nowhere) those black plastic supports for Gerwalk mode... coz in gerwalk that backplate pretty much just hangs there... that's exactly what i had in mind for my 2 DXs ... i still do like how they look when they're just on display.
  18. my nora would beg to differ... it's not broken but that square plastic part that's part of the wing's transformation, the one that i believe is connected to the small metal part, has some visible stress marks, and i've only ever transformed it to gerwalk a couple of times. EDIT - and about that small metal part on the SV-51... i would venture a guess that Yamato initially tried using plastic but realized it would break, so the final product ended up having that tiny metal part/hinge surrounded by all that plastic.
  19. i still think all the moving parts, hinges and such are prone to breaking on the VF-25's general design and transformation IF made with plastic... but that's just my personal opinion. and most of the things you listed down are aesthetic improvements... sure these things matter, but a toy not breaking matters more... at least to me.
  20. IMHO, in still goes back to his design. AFAIK, the 1/72 model kit has the same problems w/ the moving parts that facilitate the VF-25's transformation (and, yes i know that model kits are more fragile than ready-made toys). but yeah, in his own personal universe the Messiahs are not made of plastic... (*** time for the "use diecast" guys to chime in... )
  21. clearly people here on both sides suffer from tunnel vision. as for me, i hate 'em both for making me buy stuff i don't need that i occasionally need to ask a replacement for, tweak or apply superglue to plastic... ... i have needed some serious therapy from all the stress that they've put me through! but they both do make me happy from time to time...
  22. just got my Q-Rare Pixie... it's darker gray than in the promo pics... and i like it. sorry no cam right now and too busy to open it up... it's really nice.
  23. bump from the dead. i've been holding off on buying any Macross toys for a long while now... so i decided to get the VF-X2 VF-11B and VF19A and for $8 apiece you definitely can't go wrong... plus i really like the color scheme for these two that i wouldn't mind it if Yamato decided to make repaints of these in 1/60 scale. no time to take them out of the box yet, just admired the crisp paintjob/paint-scheme from inside the box.
