  1. i saw a lot of these in HK a few weeks ago... i was actually tempted to get a whole set of the one w/ the VF-4 included for $1k... just too small for my taste. but i have to say, for something very small the details are nice... i just wish that Bandai would put this kind of effort in the paint job and detailing of their RD figures esp. the VF-25s that have absolutely no markings whatsoever.
  2. nice set there ff95gj! i saw a lot of those decobacks at CTMA for ~$50... i just didn't feel like getting any at that time. thought i'd bust out the old clouds background and take a few quick pics of my new valks. (i think i nudged the tripod a bit when i shot the Miria 1J ) (lazy posing ) plus here's an old one of the VF-25F. ...can't seem to upload pics to the MW gallery.
  3. hehe... well, i'm always ready to take it back if this turns out to be vaporware...
  4. i personally think we should be thanking those guys (and their deep pockets) who bought the $2k SDF-1. if you think about it, they're partly funding Yamato's continued efforts/plans to make a mass production SDF-1.
  5. i agree that it's probably gonna take 5+ years for a completely new VF-25... that's why i'm past complaining about the current one... it is what it is. based on Bandai's track record when it comes to renewal/updated versions, they'll probably just make minor improvements here and there. i'm not holding my breath and putting my faith on a totally new DX VF-25... unless they make a totally new MacrossF TV series. if it's gonna take that long, i'm hoping that the rights aren't tied up so some other company can take a stab at making a totally new VF-25.
  6. you're gonna dunk it in a pool of water and then light it up??? now THAT i'd like to see... (jk)
  7. LOL @ Pete . as for me, i'll either wait for a SOC ver. or at least a Composite ver. w/ wings (for me, wings > giga drill)... and maybe by the time they release one with wings, it'll have a lot less tats. but then again, Bandai might be planning to piss on us again w/ a web exclusive GL wing add-on set.
  8. haha, i've mentioned this a couple of times already... i just figured people are choosing to ignore this coz they're so desperate for a VF-1 w/ correct head placement??? i'm not saying it's a bad product... i actually think it's great esp. for those who haven't fully dived into the new 1/60s (or even the 1/48s), for those who like smaller scale stuff, and for those completists or all out impulsive Macross toy fanatics. then again, if they come out w/ a VF-4, VF-2SS, VF-5000 or any cool looking valk mold that Yamato won't be doing, then i'm buying. EDIT - the Yamato's priest collar and the chest-leg gap of the Bandai are both pretty much minor nitpicks for me... something i could quickly get over once the toy is in my hands... but the advantage of the Yamato for me is not in the head placement or anything like that... its that it's PT w/ the heatshield, landing gears and all that... plus the fact that the armor parts and SSP are readily available, whereas for the Hi-Metal, any add-on after the base figure is released would most likely be sold as some kind of ridiculous exclusive.
  9. i feel your pain Pete... when i first saw the higher res. pics of the composite GL, i almost lost my lunch! here's hoping Bandai realizes their mistake and makes one for the SOC line.
  10. GFFN/GFF Next generation = 1/144 scale difference w/ the old 1/144 GFFs is that it's a little bit more (just a little bit) poseable, joints are diecast and parts don't seem to be falling off anymore if you try to touch it. although w/ this FA Unicorn, it looks like it's gonna have close to zero poseability when it's all decked out.

    Bandai SD Infinite

what's the size of the SDX figs? coz if these SD Infinity figs are just about the same size as the VF100s VF-25s, then i doubt it could be PT. lets just hope that it doesn't have too many swappable parts... the parts swapping for the RD Nirvash is a little annoying... the shcmpro Unicorn not too bad... not sure about the VF100s since i don't own one, but from what i've seen and read here, it seems really annoying to transform on a regular basis.
  12. one regular monster for me, please! i just hope they find a way to lose that support stand for gerwalk mode by Sept. The MQ (from proto to final) needed it in cruiser mode for the arms/flight deck and cannon...

    Bandai SD Infinite

i like em all! ...i just hope the transformation for the Nirvash and VF-25F won't be like the RD Nirvash Spec2 w/c is a PITA! i also hope GL will have his wings included.
  14. problem w/ the weapons set is, the bulk of the add-on parts are ones that attach to the tornado parts only... and then there's the reactive missiles x 4 w/ some extra pieces of plastic to attach it to the wing armor parts. go figure...
  15. hey, hey... Yamato's the one doing weathered exclusives... don't be giving Bandai any more ideas, they've gone exclusives-crazy as it is. AFAIK, Bandai likes doing special clear versions, special painted/coating versions, SP ver. of upgraded or different version of the same mech in the anime... i'm guessing the SP ver. monster will either be the "monster girl" w/ Ranka-no-pantsu marking that came out later in the show... or some kind movie version.
  16. battroid looks really nice. darn the fan racer... now i wish i had bought the older one i saw in HK a couple of weeks ago for only ~HK$178.
  17. i believe snake meant that it's possible to make a regular release one at around US$200 as Bandai have shown w/ their DX Quarter. ... and an SDF-1 in the same size and price as the DX Quarter is perfectly fine w/ me.
  18. i would say the solution should come from Yamato... but the compromise will definitely come from us... or more appropriately, our wallets... if not for anything else, the 2k++ 1/2000 SDF-1 has conditioned us mentally to prepare for a steep price for whatever a "mass produced" SDF-1 would cost. now, it's either you desperately want one and shell out, or not.
  19. after handling my VF-27 more and more, i'm beginning to really, really like it. i'm actually now liking the shiny plastic (sans the constantly recurring oil residue)... i really hope Bandai will release a regular, non-exclusive grunt-green VF-27... w/ a lighter, more military type green color.
  20. depends on what exactly they mean by "Mass Production Ver."... but my fingers are crossed too... this is really the only capital ship that i care to have in my collection.
  21. hahaha ... i opened my VF-27 last week and in person the VF-27 kinda looked a little off to me... BUT when i look at pics of it in f-mode, it looks gorgeous and sleek. it's probably just me... it's growing on me, though. got another set of flexi/flightpose stands from the mail... it took forever to get here. testing it out w/ my VF-27 same problem here... no space to display it, so i had to put it back in its box.
  22. it's the upper arm/bicep area that was the problem w/ the VF-0s... AFAIK, it's already been addressed since the last VF-0S Focker release... and some were even able to order fixed replacements when OD was still offering the service. IMHO, the shoulder hinges for the VF-0s and 1/48s are the most sturdy out of all Yamato's valks.
  23. took the words right out of my mouth... almost dived into the 1/100 line, good thing Yamato's announcement came before i was ready to pay for the Hi-Metal Kai. i think i'll stick w/ Yamato's 1/60s since it's been seen that it's possible for them to get licenses or rights to make certain valks that they can't make atm... it's just a question of when... it may seem to be the more expensive route now, but we've seen a lot of Yamato's products go on sale in the last year or so... and in that same time, Bandai's valks seem to get more and more expensive after every issue/re-issue... plus, they seem to be in overkill mode when it comes to deciding w/c products they'll be releasing as some kind of web/event/magazine etc. etc. exclusive...
