  1. It looks like that supposed 3rd elbow joint is fixed. I hope threezero is checking this thread and will correct this and whatever else for the VF-1S. They have at least 6 months to make improvements.
  2. Not bad. Great comparison . And definitely no shortage of photos! The gaps might not be too noticable if the "kneecaps" were opened up a bit.
  3. Thanks for the insights @WhatBoutMyStar. I really like the look of the 29 too. I had the original Alto 29 and the 30th Anniv. but sold them years ago for fear of yellowing, esp. the nose cone. Isamu is one of my fave Macross characters (hotshot pilot and all that) and I'm also digging the bayonet rifle. And i'm hoping this color won't be as prone to yellowing. I'm hoping the seller is honest and I get an unopened one seeing as this is almost a 10 yr. old product. Thanks again.
  4. Thanks for that. I thought they were, just wanted to make sure. How about the hip joint on your 29s? How prevalent is that issue?
  5. Sorry to resurrect this old topic but anybody here who has a YF-29 Isamu they can check? Wasn't planning on getting one but a good deal came my way and I did some research and read about potential cracking parts issues with the yf-29 in general. I found this pic on Mandarake and are those cracks on the shoulder armors? Thanks in advance!
  6. This. Like some have mentioned, Bandai just focused on making the legs beefier and stopped there. The legs and feet do look good but need to be spun 180⁰ every transformation. The sliding mechanism for the backpack looks cool too.
  7. Awesome pics! Curious how it would look beside the Yamato with the legs extended. And fighter mode comparison.
  8. Those long legs made me do a double take. I thought the 21 looked taller than the 19 but when I focus on their heads and shoulders, they're just about the same height.
  9. Ouch! You would think Bandai would've learned by now. They detached the nozzle flaps but not the head laser.
  10. Lol. I was gonna ask what people here would do in this situation as soon as they got home: 1. Eat supper 2. Shower 3. Play with brand new toy I guess the answer is to not piss off the wifey after buying another expensive toy. I swear, this hobby can seem like a drug addiction sometimes
  11. For the backpack maybe, but the Battroid legs look so much better with the much longer bellyplate FPs on (it looks like it's wearing a trenchcoat or something) and even the overall look of GERWALK mode benefits from the longer FPs. I really hope nobody loses those pins, connectors or flaps.
  12. I'm curious who decided to leave a big chunk of the bellyplates on the backpack... didn't they refer to the lineart or the OVAs?
  13. Looks like Hikaru, erm Rick, just came from the weight room!
  14. Fighter is still the worst looking mode. Major mental lapse not incorporating the adjustable nose of the Yamato.
  15. By that logic I should expect the 1S to be the size of a DX
  16. Watched the video with the mistransformed f-mode again and checked the measurements. Fighter length is about 25 cm. and wingspan is about 23cm. I measured one of my 1/60 v.2s and the measurements are very close. Of course the proportions will be different but it's good to know that it won't look small when beside a 1/60 v2 in f-mode. But battloid is only around 21cm. to the top of the head based on the screenshot. It's about 1cm. shy of my 1S Max in battroid mode. Maybe it can cheat with the extendable leg gimmick.
  17. Great camera work and great poses esp. the braking GERWALK pose. Didn't understand anything though Mini-DX comment is very welcome news. I don't have a DX VF-1 'cause of the ridiculously inflated price plus I don't really have any space for a 1/48 collection. HK review is better than the Korean one even if the latter is 2 hrs. long. Too bad the HK reviewer didn't have a Yamcadia 1/60 v2 during the comparison part. I'm now even more excited to get the VF-1S... if I weren't already tired of the VF-1J scheme and have had very bad luck with yellowing VF-1J valk toys, i'd get this one too.
  18. Still looks best in GERWALK mode imho.
  19. A few clearance DX Chogokin VFs might not be a bad thing... as some have mentioned recently and in the past, Bandai's really been pushing it with their prices.
  20. I'd like to see a side by side comparison in fighter mode with the Yamcadia v.2. ...As I get older, i find that I prefer my VF toys displayed in fighter mode more often.
  21. Check 7:25 timestamp. Tried to load a screenshot but got an error.
  22. Proly didn't slide the arms/shoulders far enough forward along the "rails"
  23. Lol me too. I've been going back and forth about preordering the Hiya one but decided to just stick with my "pants on" figma version. And I just saw the pop up parade one and said to myself "no way I can display that in my house with Motoko displaying her cheeks like that."
  24. That's a scheme that'll definitely never experience yellowing! But maybe red accents rather than green would better suit my taste.
