can't wait for the day a ver. 2 VF-25 comes out that can withstand multiple transformations w/o turning into a mess, whether it be by Bandai or maybe(?) Yamato. i'm achin' to transform a VF-25 but i'm afraid that if i transform my Alto to fighter or Ozma to battroid i'm really gonna get irritated... plus i want a VF-25 i can display in GERWALK!

i got a re-release 0S a couple of years ago... no real problems except for one of the feet retracts when in battroid mode (and i remember others also had this problem). it's an easy fix since you can access the part just by deploying the landing gear on the problematic leg... no need to open the whole leg assembly. just dab w/ nailpolish or superglue to the sliding part. there's also a fix here if the front fuselage of your VF-0 starts drooping... i think it's in the "What's wrong with my Yamato, Bandai" thread. if you really like the design of the VF-0 this maybe the last ever large scale incarnation that will ever come out since Yamato has said that the Mac Zero line is pretty much dead. At that price it wouldn't hurt too much if you have to do some tweaking here and there. ...and you might wanna ask HLJ about the box design of their VF-0A coz the latest VF-0As that Yamato released came with this box design - new VF-0A box .

Bandai DX Chogokin YF-29 Durandal Valkyrie

i wanna know if they've improved the crotch attachment thingy or is this one of the parts that this thing inherited from the DX 25/27... yeah, i think Bandai might wait until they've gotten rid of all the Tornado VF-25Gs or if they've made a profit out of it already before they start considering releasing a v.2 DX 25. -

that was fast... i'd like to see the back view of that battroid. so, the outer wing up to the thrusters just slides into the wing glove. those guns/lasers behind the head is something new. i think i'll "wait and see" on this one... i still feel lukewarm about the design, but if this is what the next VF/YF is, then i'm gonna have to get one eventually. -
finally got my Roy TV 1S and Max TV 1A... i just love how the new crotch minimizes the collar sticking out... i think i'm now done with the VF-1. bring on the VF-19s and VF-17s. EDIT - i wish Yamato had made the visors for all the newer VF-1s the same brighter green like on the Roy TV 1S. that's probably the remaining nitpick i have with these v.2s.

i can't imagine how you would be able to put 1/3000 scale "no step" or "danger" decals on this toy...

called it... http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=28836&view=findpost&p=888551... they should have at least included the strike cannon option. these are DYRL valks after all.

i know that shop... i bought, like, 80-90% of my Yamatos from him... i kinda guessed he was going to close shop... guess his dad doesn't want to watch his shop anymore. i'm still torn... still can't decide... i was planning to get this when i go to Japan this March... but now i'm not so sure if this will still be available by then. anybody got some inside info on how many units Yamato are producing?

Bandai DX Chogokin YF-29 Durandal Valkyrie

a wild guess... but looking at the color-coded pic, i'm guessing the blue part of the wing will retract into the wing glove to keep the boosters upright and the light green wing tip will fold somewhere and out of the way... 2011 is looking like it's gonna be the year of the forward-swept winged VF toys... -

paint scheme is nice, kinda like the YF-25. imo, it could do w/o those wing boosters. i'm guessing in battroid those wings+boosters will be the backpack kinda like on the 27... -
lol... i always say these things to myself in my head... (to prevent myself from spending too much!) my dad was kinda okay when he saw my collection... he probably figured, i've finally learned how to take care of my toys (after breaking/destroying pretty much every toy he bought for me when i was a kid). but at 38 yo, it should be easy to just tune out the haters... even if it's your own dad

just paid for my TV 1A Max... local currency bounced back a little against the Yen. it's now showing "Low Stock" and a few others are on backorder status... guess this sale is pretty hot!

it looks like one of those little space ships in one of those galactic space opera animes. ...as long as they keep making new VFs, it's all good... -
only the arm components of the FPs will fit. the belly-plate FPs won't. the fold-booster will fit also. @troyness - you could email hlj and ask about the total if they indeed gave you the fedex 50% off before paying...
-
yeah, i know, man ... that's why i feel so compelled to get one even if i'm not too fond of the 1A head. I really wanted the re-issue and I was supposed to get this a good while back... but i was informed that the recent 1A re-issues were for sale only in Japan. I was just waiting for HLJ to put it on sale. I'm kinda curious now if HLJ will get stocks of the VF-X or the AB.
-
just ordered a Max 1A TV version after confirming with HLJ that it's canopy is clear and has the new crotch. Convinced the wife to give me this for x-mas . Wish i could buy more but i'm saving for some other stuff and our vacation trip to JP next year. this will probably be my one and only VF-1A since i'm not very fond of the 1A head design and the VF-X is just too rich for my blood... and i really hate paying jacked up prices for exclusives.
-
i disassembled one of my VF-25s a few months ago. the ball joint for the hip is half bare metal and the top half covered w/ some kind of rough, tacky material. the ball joint for the arm is just plastic, iirc.
-
i remember somebody mentioned that the re-issue VF-1A Max, CF and Kaki had the new crotch and clear canopy. i had planned to have my friend in HK get the 1A Max for me but these re-issues were apparently for sale in Japan only (kinda like an exclusive re-release... this was told to me by the shop owner in HK who imports Yamato valks)... but this year HLJ started to sell these Japan only exclusives, so i'm kinda guessing that these re-stocks of theirs could be the ones w/ the updates.
-
anybody know if the Max 1A TV that's on sale is the new one w/ updated crotch, canopy etc.?
-
actually, it should be "oh crap, it's a Bandai"... esp. now that they've discontinued their replacement parts service (one-time if it's your fault and anytime when it's their fault)... it was super slow but i did get to use my one-time request for replacement part/s. the only reason why people are so vocal about Yamato qc issues is coz we have Graham to possibly hear the complaints and relay it to Yamato if it's a widespread problem. Whereas with Bandai, now it's just "suck it up", "take it or leave it"...

Official Bandai DX Chogokin VB-6 König Monster Thread
m0n5t3r replied to Funkenstein's topic in Toys
are you gonna try putting that DX Monster on a flexy? -
the regular release prices are ok, IMO... it's the web-exclusives people are complaining about... as an example, a local shop here has put up a pre-order price for the DYRL 1As for approx. $120 each. that's the local retail price of a non-FP 1/60 Yamato v.2 VF-1. add the fact that only 2 out of the 6 announced hi-metals are regular releases... and they're not even special coating or clear-parts or whatever usual Bandai-type exclusives, they're just regular Max VF-1J and DYRL VF-1As (w/out Super Packs to boot!)... compare that to the percentage of v.2 VF-1 regular releases vs. web-exclusives. @pud333 - Tokyo Hunter is pretty reliable... he's been around for a while... a lot of fellow local collectors here have ordered from him in the past (that was before shops here were able to sell these exclusives locally).
-
if Yamato would make their own 1/60 toys in the (far or near) future, my bet is that they're gonna study the Bandai 1/72 kits and try to figure out how to make it into a "sturdier-than-a-model" toy. i also think they'll have some of the DX 1/60s just for laughs...
