  1. can't wait for people to chime in on whether which one is the better toy - the 1/60 VF-19 Kai or the 1/60 YF-29. i have to admit that this looks very good esp. since it has a lot of improvements and new gimmicks compared to its predecessors. a funny thing though... Yamato seems to have copied Bandai's love for metal ball joints and Bandai's offering has removable intake covers while the Yamato doesn't. i haven't watched the 2nd movie yet but it got me wondering... now that we have a YF-29, will there be a VF-29 series of VFs and a new VF that'll look like the YF-21/VF-22 in the future...
  2. this and the landing gears are my only real complaints when it comes to fighter mode... otherwise they're pretty solid whenever I want to zoom them around the house. but i desperately want a VF-25 i can play/display in GERWALK and battroid that won't make me want to throw them off a wall. how the paint and the joints on the YF-29 will be are still unknown but i am liking the articulated hands, removable intake covers, convertible to 2-seater cockpit, improved neck and the new crotch lock/positioning... i would assume these will all be incorporated on the v.2 VF-25 along with the removable and better sculpted pilot figure, double-jointed elbows, locking shoulders and the better GERWALK knee articulation that started with the VF-27. i also fear that Luca's RVF-25 might become an exclusive along with the Super Packs.
  3. somebody might want to watch outside Graham's home... he might decide to have his v.1 DX VF-25s in "trash bin mode"
  4. kinda felt this would come out sooner rather that later... transformed my VF-25F last night back to fighter and i'm planning to keep my 2 v.1 DXs in this mode forever... while fighter mode does have its own issues, it is the most solid between the 2 modes of the v.1 DX VF-25. I'm gonna have to lift my Bandai boycott coz of my love for the VF-25 design... now i can finally complete my SMS skull squadron even of i have to re-buy the F and the S. good thing i cut my losses when i did, i was sooo tempted to get that Tornado VF-25G a few months ago in Tokyo... but still, F U Bandai!
  5. sorry to hear about your YF-19... kinda like what happened to this YF-19 the plastic on the YF-19 is definitely iffy, but i think what eventually made it crack might be an over-tightened screw... afaik, there were 2 guys who had that happen back then... i checked my YF-19 when i read their posts and saw that mine was showing a white line, exactly where theirs cracked ,where the plastic was clearly stressed... i loosened the screw that connects the two halves of the neck part and the white stress line disappeared. i didn't bother tightening that screw at all after that. on yours, the (hidden) screw that keeps the 2 halves of the lerx part together might have been over-tightened. after seeing your post i promptly disassembled that part from the hip and loosened those screws. guess you'll just have to display your YF-19 in battroid so that crack isn't visible...
  6. spent the whole show waiting for stuff to be said or to happen that didn't... kinda wishing the"magical" part would've played out the way it did in my head when I read it ... and that actress playing Mirri Maz Duur was really crappy at saying her lines. ...back to the books now...
  7. guess the wait will be a little bit longer for us D lovers...
  8. MP10 at Tokyo Toy Show - http://www.tfw2005.com/transformers-news/japanese-transformers-40/masterpiece-convoy-20-video-from-international-tokyo-toy-show-172545/ looks light based on the vids...
  9. godammit Maxfactory! when will Figma Archer come out?!?! i still can't believe Robocop and a handful of those KRs came out first in the meantime, i'll have to do with just his arm (sorry for the crappy pic) a la Nine Lives Blade Works
  10. yeah, but it seems to me that non-transformable small scale Macross VFs are just doomed to fail, doesn't matter who makes them. even some of the limited edition ones, after initial release, i've seen selling for cheap... and i think the toy companies have noticed this the past couple of years and it makes me sad coz i might never own the RD Armored VF-25S or any other VF (that I can't afford to buy/have in 1/60 scale) in action figure form.
  11. after reading the so-called "caveman love advice" (for the umpteenth time in a toy thread no less!), I was surprised he was able to even spell the word hypocrite correctly. guess when you hear it so many times you just have to look it up!
  12. this is the second time i've heard The 5th Element mentioned here in the past couple of days... makes me want to watch it again... Leeloo never fails to get a "rise" out of me as for this movie, based on the reviews, i think i'll wait to watch it for free.
  13. it's pretty clear that there's no "pilot" in HIS head...
  14. never really liked it either... don't like green... but one could say it looks great next to the rotf devastator toy i'm still waiting for an Ultra Magnus encore to display with my city commander+classics UM. can't seem to find a reasonably priced re-issue that's not used/loose.
  15. yeah, i wouldn't mind getting a GN-U M&M VF-22S set... i just can't seem to convince myself to get the 1/60s even at 60% off i just don't have enough display space for them and I still can't get over the battroid proportions of the 1/60 YF-21/VF-22 mold. EDIT - i wonder if Yamato ever toyed with the idea of packaging their 1/60 VFs with their GN-U counterpart... just add, say, ~1500-2000JPY... you'd have a big scale, PT valk and a smaller poseable battroid figure to display together.
  16. just saw this from TD... clearer pics of MP10 - http://www.toysdaily.com/discuz/thread-157146-1-1.html ...10th thread, 10 transformations, 10 times the fun, 10th Masterpiece... still Optimus Prime.
  17. i heard he used to sell military ordnance and Yamato was looking for something to blow Bandai up...
  18. this is definitely an instance where too much of a good thing makes the toy look bad.
  19. haha... straight to the point. even better - "Graham, I think Yamato should reissue this."
  20. here's the "pelvic-thrust" discussion from the old VF-27 thread - http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=32802&view=findpost&p=859678 on the DX 25 and 27 you'd have to split the part of the forward fuselage behind the crotch to get it to angle out... this also enables the waist joint. the problem was, the waist joint is so loose to even bother with making the crotch angle out... and you'd have to "cheat" like what Renato did. i was just wondering if they're cheating in that pic too...
  21. i wonder what's behind the left thigh in the 3rd pic that's keeping the crotch sticking out and the underside of the front fuselage angled like that.
  22. just watched the latest ep. shocked and sad when I got to this part in the book... still made me sad watching it happen on the show i was hoping they'd finish Danaerys' part in the episode ... but that's for next week's episode... can't wait! exactly how i feel.
  23. forgot about that... the May 2010 safe release should be the one with clear canopy and new crotch then.
  24. which VF-1J? the one with the grey-lined visor. any v.2 VF-1?... every release after the VF-1D except for the VT-1 and the VF-1J w/ armor parts that doesn't have the grey visor.
