Shin Your description of how it looks made me think of the proposed naval version of F-117 but i guess that is not it. Any idea how the air intakes look like ? Perhaps ASF-14 looked like this ?

F-14 Fleet Defender was one of the few dedicated Tomcat flight sims. Quite old now. Played it way back in '94. It was fun albeit unrealistic/unpolished in certain areas. I had a good laugh when i came across a dragon in the Kola Peninsula campaign. You can't land at friendly airfields and missiles fired become as large as your aircraft. At least it had a realistic representation of the AWG-9 radar and that was hard to use. There was another F-14 flight sim but that was quite bad that it isn't worth mentioning. Strike Fighters Project 1/Wings Over Vietnam is a fairly competent jet flight sim that has expended to include prop aircraft modelling. A recent patch added thrust vectoring for the Harrier. SFp1 has simple avionic representation(you don't have to push this and that button for something) but flight modelling is realistic. The series is still a bit broken but seeing TK's continued commitment to improving it and the low cost of SF and WoV(only $25) i think it is worthwhile investment. A flight sim i liked alot was Flight Commander by Origin. You commanded a merc F-16 squadron operating out of Turkey. You really had to pick your missions carefully balancing between risk and gain, managing your pilots and buying weapons. Too bad Falcon V got canned, the company doing it is now working on something different more akin to a LOMAC lite. We also have Jet Thunder coming up. The initial release will feature the Sea Harrier Falklands campaign. From what i read it will feature a detailed avionics and flight modelling. It will also feature some features like dizziness and other pilot related fenomenas to add to the immersiveness of the sim.

I played IL-2 only a few times. I find the AI a bit too good in situation awareness. They can see you when you are below them. But i think it is a fine flight sim. Lock-On is a bit of a resource hog. I doubt we have a spec that can run it with all its features on. SF p1/WoV is a good choice too. SF is especially cheap too but will need several more patches to bring all of its features to working order.

Yeah the MiG-29M2 or MRCA has the nose of the normal MiG-29. Looks like it is not doing too well with the likes of the Su-30/F-16D. The RF-5E is a rare bird indeed. Only 12 were built. The Saudis have 10 and Malaysia bought 2. Singapore converted some of its regular F-5E to that configuration.

I notice the golden dragon is given the modex 361 A rather large number and definitely not attached to a carrier. Custom decals ?

The ultimate Skyhawk is actually Singapore Aerospace's upgraded F404 powered A-4SU Super Skyhawk. It is said to be able to out accelerate the F-5E.

@David Which one is the best F-20 kit available and how easy is it to find one ? I know of the 1/72 Hase, the 1/72 and 1/48 Monogram and the 1/144 Airfix. How they compare ?

Only if the production numbers are enough to warrant its return. The avionics would also need an update. Imagine an F-20C with AMRAAM capability, EJ2000 engine, latest cockpit and avionics. Yeah shin the PAF should get those.

The F-20's agility probably surpasses even that of the F-16C. Both accidents had nothing to do with the aircraft itself but rather G-LOC. This plane needs a g-limiter.

I think that's a Sparrow. I'm more interested in the smaller, Sidewinder looking thing in the background. What the heck are those? A poor rendition of the AIM-9J/P rear aspect sidewinder. Control Fins are too short.

They even got the shape and color wrong for the AIM-9J/P Sidewinder and USAF Falcons carry AIM-9L/M most of the time. And the Harm "Sparrow" has inert round markings on it.

I wonder what kind of 747 is Alice 12 ? From the pictures you see what appears to be a classic series flight deck but it has the extended upper deck of the 300 and winglets of the -400. And it has no windows. Doesn't really amount to anything. Perhaps it is a plane for smuggling goods like Yamato Valks. @knight26 The 747 cruise missile carrier you referring to carries ALCM and launch them from behind ?

Shin There really is a new jet fighter manga out there called "Red Prowling Devil" but it isn't by Shintani Kaoru but rather Shimizu Toshimitsu. The red MiG-29 looks cool. Base of what i read there is an Indian AF pilot in the series called Shin. Now why are so many pilots called "Shin" ?

I never heard of Red Devil before...it must be quite recent. I am surprised there are Kfir fighters in it as the last Area 88 tv series went for a more politcally correct approach. Then again this being a manga there is little need for to please certain people.

Anyway i heard most of the Fujimi kits have been reissued in limited numbers. If you don't mind making nice looking with lots of goodies but slightly inaccurate models then Fujimi may be for you.
