Macross Frontier Mecha/Technology Thread II *Read 1st Post*

However, the Seahawk, and helicopters themselves are relatively simpler and more rugged compared to a VTOL type aircraft, especially in cases where you don't really need the speed of a VTOL -
Hmm, seeing as I still haven't put the stickers on my 1/48 VF-1A, maybe I should wait for these instead.

Actually, it's more like the FAST pack connects to the panel of the 19 in a such a way that when the internal missile bay doors open, the FAST packs swing with the doors.

Hmm, I've noticed AiA's stuff comes out a bit darker than the others. Is this the case or are there just some settings I need to fix for the MP4s?

Perhaps that version of the Seahawk has been fitted with small thermonuclear engines? -

Issues like that should be taken care of in training, you don't send a pilot out to combat hoping that he eventually learns to use something. I figure being able to use such a system, even at a basic level is a requirment of taking a valk out to battle. -
Actually, at that point, I don't thing its just the music that's keeping them inline. I'm sure they were enamoured at the other aspects or "culture," heck even Kamjin enjoyed a bit of "culture" with Laplamiz. And I'm pretty sure more than a few of them preferred doing "culture" with more experienced miclones than with equally clumsy former giants.

It shouldn't take that much practice since all the pilot has to do is look at something, something our eyes do naturally. It's as simple as say looking out the window and looking at every car in the parking lot. The only majr thing experience would bring would be the speed of which Ozma and Roy can do it. -

Is it just me, or did Ranka have a bit of the tan in the scene where she was singing Aimo while the VF-0 was plummeting to the ocean? Her skin looks slightly darker than in the other scenes (even the ones with similar lighting). -

I figure that while the system does actively track where the pilot is looking, there's a switch to make it lock on to a target. If you notice, in ep. 7, Ozma readies the missiles first before targeting. However, as theorized in the Valkyrie movement thread, tracking where the pilot is looking is probably part of how the computer interprets the pilots inputs into movements. In other words, the computer "tags" whatever the pilot is focusing on, and translates any stick/pedal movements into motion. -

I shall not rest until Ranka and Sheryl sing Planet Dance as a duet! Sa hajimaruze saturday night choshi ha dodai? Let's stand up beeto wo kanjirukai. -
One thing I am curious about is would the APHOS have sung the same tune if it knew that within a year, humanity would be pwned, camped and teabagged by a race of jolly green giants?

Finished 7 in three nights.

Mikhail as DD and Luca as Roy. Unfortunately, Luca's petition to get Nanase as Aries was left unheeded. -

Anyone else notice that part of the activing advice that Alto gives Ranka sounds like a Bruce Lee quote. -

The computer is already tracking each and every target within sensor range and it's probably possible to get the computer to lock onto everything too. However, I figure the eyeball thing is there when you need to be more specific with your targets, in Ozma's case, he's probably picking out targets that either, have the ebst chance of getting hit or pose the greatest threat, based on instinct and experience. As for moving your eyeballs around, it's simply a matter of focusing on the object, you're eyes do it multiple times everyday, you just don't notice. -
After seeing episode 10, I rewatched Zero and picked up the ff. tidbits from the Mayan creation legend. Then, the bird human came down and cut its own head off. The blood that poured from his neck became a female, Rooy Waka. Rooy Kanu and Rooy Waka joined together and gave birth to many children. After giving birth to their children, Rooy Waka left and returned home to the stars, which was far across the ocean. "My dear wife, please come back to me." The bird human replied and said, "My dear husband Rooy Kanu... The day I come back will be when the destiny of the stars crumble. It is the day the song of destruction will echo into the world." The second half of the legend where Rooy Waka (the female formed from the blood of the Bird Human) leaves for the stars intrigues me. Sara clearly "left for the stars" at the end of Zero. The question now is whether that bit about returning when "the destiny of the stars crumble" and the "day when the song of destruction will echo into the world," has any relation to Frontier? Now onto a less "grand" topic, concerning Brera's past. I have a feeling that if Ozma does die as many have speculated, it'll be after he meets Brera and figures out who he is but before he is able to tell Ranka.

Could have been part of some galactic arms race during the civil war when the protoculture were fighting with each other. One side developed the Evil series, another developed the Vajra.

Nah, Ranka forgot to bring a poke-ball, luckily Sheryl brought hers and had let Alto loose. Too bad Brera got a bit overzealous and killed the thing. -

Actually, the closest we have to the variable intake covers are the intakes on early MiG-29s which could be fully closed to protect the engines from dust and debris when operating from forward airbases and flying at low altitudes (with the engines breathing through dorsal louvres instead). You mean like this? Although Gamlin's is more dark green than black.
