  1. Klan also brings in the loli vote.
  2. Hmm... Known variable fighter numbers with some notes (mostly from the Macross Compendium): * VF-0 "Pheonix) (developmental VF, deployed as a stopgap until VF-1s thermonuclear engines were ready) * VF-1 Valkyrie * VF-X-2 (no data) * VF-X-3 (lost out to the VF-X-4 as repalcement for VF-1) * VF-3000 Crusader (remodeled version of the VF-1) * VF-4 Lightning III * VF-5 (low cast alternative to the VF-1) * VF-5000 "Star Mirage" (1st to use Zentraedi tech) * VF-6 no data * VF-7 no data * VF-9 Cutlass (low cost, higher performance alternative to the VF-4) * VF-11 Thunderbolt * VF-14 Vampire * VF-15 (1st to introduce anti-G system) * VF-16 (never went into mass production(?) parts used for VF-11 MAXL Custom) * VF-17 Nightmare * VF-171 (derivative of VF-17) * VF-19 Excalibur * YF-21 (lost to YF-19, later reborn as the VF-22) * VF-22 Sturmvogel II * YF-24 (cancelled, used as basis for VF-25 and maybe the VF-27) * VF-25 "Messiah" * VF-27 That leaves the ff. unused numbers. *VF-8 *VF-10 *VF-12 *VF-13 *VF-18 *VF-20 *VF-23 One possible explanation is that most of the "skipped" numbers were actually given to prototypes in competitions that never made it beyond that stage. It's also possible that the UNS originally used the VF-X-## designations for prototypes before reverting to the more familiar YF designation (based on the current, US system).
  3. It's actually a secret list of pilots who have been deemed most likely to get Meltran aces to fall for them and are as such deployed when the need arises. I hear even Basara is on the list.
  4. Yes, a twist indeed, but would M. Night Shyamalan approve?
  5. Nope, it's got a similar enough profile to the VF-4 and VF-14 to not bother me. Besides, most VFs have lacked proper working rear control surfaces anyway ever since the VF-1; verniers, canards and thrust vectoring (27 can do three dimensional vectoring, like the VF-22) should cover the job of those surfaces.
  6. And because of that injury, Ozma spends his free time assembling his Fire Bomber tribute band.
  7. QFDT!!!* *Quoted For Deculture Truth Because size matters! And also because Gubaba and MisaForever happen to be fanatics willing to rally people to their cause.
  8. Not just the colours, that looks like a VF-25S head, makes you wonder if Alto will get the same promotion as Hikaru did, for the same reasons (pineapple salad).
  9. Interesting idea, something similar actually came to mind when I bought rock Band for my PS3. Instead of Overdrive/Star Power, we get Song Energy/Anma Spiritia. And they can add story mode type stuff, like a stage similar to that ep. where Basara loses his voice, the palyers on Bass and backup vox will have to reach a certain score to unlock guitar and lead vox within a time limit.
  10. Those are easter eggs, not animation bugs. Maybe you should start a new thread for them?
  11. Hmm, something sword related then. We already have the VF-9 Cutlass and the aforementioned VF-19 Excalibur, how about a name relating to the size of its weapon, say VF-27 Longsword or VF-27 Zweihander?
  12. Off course we can possibly write it off that the initial shot was the view from a mirror. However, that would mean that the mirror was on the ceiling... looks like the queen is even naughtier than she's letting on.
  13. I don't think we should generalize Sheryl and Alto as just plain master/slave. From what I see, they do get along quite well beyond Sheryl teasing Alto every now and then (certainly not as antagonistic as when Mikhail teases the princess). If anything, she reminds me of Jyun Ji-hyun's character from the original Korean version of My Sassy Girl (엽기적인 그녀), both certainly are domineering, somewhat bitchy yet playful women (although Sheryl hasn't made Alto chase after her while he was wearing her heels... yet).
  14. If anything, Mac 7 has some of my favorite songs from the franchise, including Angel Voice, Try Again, etc.
  15. Frontier itself is much larger than City 7, so alot of thing that were part of separate ships in the 37th fleet are probably integrated into Frontier this time around.
  16. That song came to mind when looking into Sheryl's characterization (and if anything, I'm not that into late 90's rock either, my personal taste is 80's rock/metal with lots of solos and falsettos ). It's just like the Meredith Brooks song, Sheryl is an attempt at portraying a complex modern woman - something I find lacking in modern moe culture.
  17. The thread title/question is leading and leaves no room for people who actually do like both II and 7 despite both being considered the bottom rung of Macross shows. Perhaps it would have been better if the thread was a discussion of both shows in light of both being considered the inferior shows, however I fear such a thread would eventually be filled up with haters and flamers alike.
  18. Yes, as someone who misses anime before the advent of modern moe trends, I agree with you. Sheryl.. She's a bitch, she's a lover She's a child, she's a mother She's a sinner, she's a saint She does not feel ashamed. She's your health, she's your dream She's nothing in between You know you wouldn't want her any other way.
  19. On that note, notice that S.M.S. seems to their fair share of brownies as well? We even see a few craft under repair from battle damage in episode 7.
  20. Depends on the quality of the kit. If it's close to MG quality that that price is okay.
  21. Meh on To Love Ru, it's basically Urusei Yatsura without the Takahashi charm.
  22. Hmm, I'm now gonna have to figure out exactly what model Mercedes that is.
