  1. Just a something I noticed after watching episode 10, not sure if this has been pointed out before but, one of the guys at the dock with Director Kawamori is wearing a Macross Zero shirt. And speaking of Zero, anyone else find themselves humming Aimo (Tori no Hito) instead of Arkan during the final scene of Zero episode 5?
  2. Makes me wonder what a Frontier mecha would look like in a SRW game.
  3. Alto looks nigh uncomfortable in the suit. Maybe he'd rather go in a dress.
  4. Well,at the very least Kanno and Sakimoto both love to layer their orchestral tracks in a similar manner.
  5. I wouldn't really call the Invader following function as that valk was designed based on the A-6 Intruder.
  6. With the rate they were selling at back in episode 8, I'm surprised they actually sold out.
  7. I have fixed your post for you.
  8. I agree with this. Alto in quite a few ways is a throwback to the days before we got modern mecha anime leads who were either too angsty or to overtly hot-blooded. He doesn't have the seemingly requisite "wanting not to fight" moments halfway through the series and I like the fact that he's willing to fight and die for Frontier (despite his misgivings for the lack of a true sky) I also like that while he's above average, but he's not miraculously good to the point where there's an unstated reliance on him. He fights as part of the team, receiving help as well as giving help to his teammates when necessary. The only time where everyone does turn to him is for shipboard infiltration and rescue, which seems to be his specialty.
  9. It's possible that they simply cannot disguise an object as large as a valk with optical camo... yet.
  10. Well, you can always start an interstellar shipping company that also operates a private military contractor on the side.
  11. But GG only started from episode 7 and they're using the original TV release and not the touched up BluRay/DVD ones.
  12. Ah frackk, I thought you were saying that FOTSW was after episode 49. No wonder I was so confused.
  13. Actually, I'm currently downloading raws and then I plan mux them in with the script files available on the iMacross servers.
  14. Considering his recent record of epic trolls, I'm keeping an eye out on the HFH just in case he's pulling off another on with this. Also, I'm pleasantly surprised at Ohnogi's involvement as I haven't seen him mentioned working on Frontier in most sources online.
  15. Well, if Battle Galaxy was using good enough stealth or ECM, it's possible that all the bridge operators could see was a big contact where the Ranka image was. That, combined with the reverse culture shock of having Ai Oboete Imasuka used against them would mean that they were probably caught off guard and at that point were more focused on repelling the Vajra counterattack. The fact that a Vajra cap ship got close enough to go for a point blank shot at the bridge could possibly show how effective the counterattack was.
  16. Some people have all the luck. I used to have my parents rent copies of Macross on Betamax as well (for some reason, Beta actually got a decent foothold here than in other places - I even remember playing them on a classic top loading Betamax player).
  17. Of all the tracks, Test Flight Delight is the one that gives me a major Macross Plus vibe. I'd say nicely aural link between Kanno's two Macross outings. On a different note, alot of the orchestral tracks remind me of Hitoshi Sakimoto's work, to the point where some of them would fit in nicely with any Ivalice-set Final Fantasy game.
  18. Actually, I find that despite his looks, Alto is pretty much a throwback to older anime space opera leads in that he's above average as a pilot, but not the best and that he doesn't carry much emotional baggage and was pretty much willing and able to fight the war, unlike alot of modern mecha anime leads who often undergo some period of not wanting to fight and doubting their cause.
  19. Does it count when the relationship involves three girls... uh wait, you mean Alto's a... yeah I knew that, I was just... never mind.
  20. I figure that it was HFH's way of getting modern anime viewers interested in a character who at his core, is pretty much a throwback to the older anime/space opera archetypes.
  21. Interesting idea, Sheryl's blog states that she was inspired by listening to a singer who when he/she sang, felt as if there was wind coming from the singer. That singer could possibly be Basara putting out powerful song energy (although, I think she mentioned that the singer was female making it Mylene or Emilia).
  22. I believe that colour scheme was used for the WTF-7 Basara when it was commissioned as part of the special long range spiritia warfare fleet.
  23. Maybe, just for a moment, Ozma forgot that Alto was not a girl.
  24. Geh, I just came from work and was tired, was also worked up on the thought of fangirl meltrans hidden somewhere in episode 49, so much that I didn't notice that you were talking about . Still
