Yes, here's to those without which more than a few fleets would have been smashed to bits by aliens and/or cyborgs - the Macross sound techs. Whether it's making sure that Ranka and Sheryl had the right music playing during their medley/duet or giving Basara the proper backing when everyone else was unconscious due to spiritia drain or simply making it look like Kaifun was actually doing something in the DYRL movie - these guys have arguably the toughest, yet most underappreciated jobs in the Macross universe. Actually, other than the nose folding down 180' instead of forward 90' and the use of swing bars instead of the large "gullet", the VF-25 and VF-27's torsos do transform like the VF-19 with the upper torso going over the cockpit area which is now pointing upwards. The SV-51 on the other hand, while using similar swing bars, has the the main fuselage, cockpit and all, pointing down at an angle. As for Ranka seeing the cockpit, if it's not a holographic cockpit, then maybe at that point, Grace and co. can tap into the superdimension fold plane that Ranka seems to have access to (same way the queen got through to her in episode 14, same way she got through to Sheryl in episode 25).

This one should have been added long ago seeing as how we were pointing it out back when the episode came out. Ep. 1 The way the VF-171s position themselves (complete with wing verniers firing for stabilization) as well as how they line up their targets to lock on their missiles is just like the opening battle of DYRL. Also, the uniforms themselves are a mix of designed from previous series. The striped shoulders are reminiscent of the DYRL and Macross Plus flight suits while the chestpiece would fit more in 7.

I think this has been discussed before, the current FAST packs of the VF-25 seem to be aerodynamically inefficient and would seem to be a liability in an atmosphere - at least where fighter mode is concerned seeing as we have seen them used inside a colony, but only in Gerwalk and Battroid modes.

But Brera is clearly shown using a standard sidestick HOTAS setup. The only time he pilots the 27 using implants is when he sorties it by remote in episode 20 and even then, it seems he only uses the remote to get it to where he is so that he can pilot it.

Actually, you can clearly see that Brera it still holding on to a traditional stick and throttle even in the holo/cyber/wtf cockpit. As for the remote piloting, that seems to be something common to both YF-24 derived fighters, although it does seem that the one for the VF27 has possibly greater range (VF25's seem to require line of sight).
