  1. Well, even ships of the same class IRL have some differences to each other. Also, notice that the ones that are close in number tend to have similarities to each other. Battle Frontier and Galaxy look most alike to each other with the same new leg section and increased armament over previous NMCs (their differences are in their bridge sections and Galaxy's shoulders). Battle 5 simply looks like Battle 7 but with a Zentraedi design ethic. Also, Battle 1 seems to be similar to Battle 7, the difference in shoulder seems to be more a slight error in animation than a true design difference. The only really different one is Battle 13.
  2. Voices, less chance of accidentally summoning frustrated horny Vajra.
  3. If anything, I will admit to rewatching Episode 25 almost every day.
  4. It is the variable Mardook mecha from episode 5 which I just downloaded today from Macrosshare (on leave from work due to a badly sprained ankle, decided to download MacII since I havent' seen it since 2000). No rush, although I'll probably try to search for it on my own. Working on the For Fans Only section eh? Got any new ones for the Frontier mecha? If you're open for submissions, I've actually got a few ideas, however. my new rig doesn't have Photoshop... yet.
  5. I just noticed the typo, sounds like the title of a bad porno - possibly featuring more of the aforementioned naked flying mecha pilots.
  6. Question, are any updates to the Macross II section forthcoming? I've been rewatching the series and there's one Zendtraedi/Marduk mecha that I've been unable to identify - a seemingly variable mecha that appears at 14:09 of Episode 5 and transforms in 14:13. At first I thought it was the VF-XX Zentran valkyrie, but upon comparing what I saw with other online sources (MAHQ), it seems to be something else.
  7. While another group saw a Dolphin and immediately started singing "So Long and Thanks For All the Fish." I remember that time, it was probably the time where most everyone couldn't wait until the next episode came out just so we could find out exactly WTF the WTF-1 was.
  8. Maybe it would have been better explained had they made MacII a TV series instead of just a 6 episode OVA. After watching it again (something I haven't done since I taped it off Sci-Fi when I was in the States some year ago), some things feels as if they would have worked better had there been more episodes.
  9. So I see that to Kawamori, naked karaoke counts as orthodox.
  10. Funny, we're from the same country but I definitely felt the need to shed a few manly tears when watching GOTF.
  11. I think the shocking part was that the maid wasn't actually secretly some meltran ninja in disguise.
  12. This has probably been mentioned before, but the way Sheryl's outfit changes on stage is just like how Wendy Rider's does in Macross II (right before she boards the Metal Siren on stage).
  13. Well, from the comments I've read else where, one of the complaints is how Alto didn't become the OMGWTFPWN type of pilot in the end like modern pilots are supposed to be.
  14. This isn't a praise or criticism per se, but I kinda like it how ace pilots are tantamount to pop stars in Macross II.
  15. It's actually Ozma's dream come true, SMS has been hired to provide security for Mylene and Basara/Gamlin's wedding (whoever she ended up with).
  16. I remember watching it in a packed hall at school when some club decided to show it. Many manly tears were shed that day. IMO, probably the only Gundam show that can approach that level of 'manliness' is War in the Pocket. Off course Macross doesn't really have anything of that sort, but it's not it's genre anyway, Macross has, and always will be a space opera first and foremost. It doesn't have, nor need to pretention of being "manly."
  17. I still prefer Macross Frontier: Do You Remember DECULTURE? (DECULCHA Oboete Imasu ka?) or Macross Frontier: The Galaxy is DECULTURE Me!
  18. Not sure if this belongs here, but anyway, it's better than the one Nanase had.
  19. Actually, I believe that's the reason why some of us enjoyed Frontier - for me in fact, it's the first anime I've really followed in some time (before that, I was in an I don't really like modern anime phase).
  20. Well at this point, we don't really know for sure except for one quote from Kawamori stating that he'd do it like DYRL in the sense that he would be bringing the Frontier experience to the big screen (never stating whether or not it would be a DYRL style retelling).
  21. The question now is, what are the minimum recommended specifications for playing .MKVs with video encoded in h.264 - specifically, the HD releases of Frontier? Just for reference though, I'm able to play them fine with an Intel E7200 Core 2 Duo with 2GB of RAM and no video card (ran out of money, using the built in Intel GMA video).
  22. Notice how I said "almost." No, the real guilt will come after I get LittleBigPlanet alongside a 1/72 VF-25 and upgrades for the airsoft rifle.
