Official 1/100 BANDAI VF Hi Metal VF-1J Valkyrie
raptormesh replied to Black Valkyrie's topic in Toys
Yeah I wouldn't mind getting that now. I still transform my VF100 from time to time and this has an order of magnitude of less parts. But then again, the Phoenix is one of my fave valks. -

That's true but then again the Hi-Metal costs twice as much again as Revies or the Toynamis. -

Concur with treatment, also the HM seems to be doing a slight crotch thrust so the angle of the nosecone is somewhat different. Gonna wait for reviews before purchasing this one. -

It's up for 3980 Yen on Amiami, which is about USD42. -
Very cute indeed. Will they offer web exclusive tornado add on packs for it?

Official Bandai 1/100 VF HI-METAL VF-19 Kai Fire Valkyrie

Here's hoping the YF-21 will come with landing gear and attachable guns, though the chances are slim. Really annoyed by this "DLC" type add-on model. EDIT: The sound booster will be released late July and costs 2,940 Yen (inclusive of tax). The landing pad plus accessories will be released late August and costs 2,100 Yen (inclusive of tax). " Includes shoulder block, closed fist, joint part for Gunpod, landing gear and display stand." (According to the Tamashii website via Ngeekhiong) -
That's what I thought when I first watched a few episodes 5 years ago, but now that I've started watching it in earnest, it's actually quite fun if you're a fan of Gamlin. I'll still wait for a blazer or a repaint though, since I dislike gaudy coloured valks (also a reason why I collect CFs).

You see, the pilot wears the radar as part of the helmet. The nose cone is there purely for aerodynamic purposes. In battroid mode it becomes a heat sink when it gets hot. Edit: Btw great job on the custom Areaseven, still not a valk i'd bring home to my mom but i don't mind giving that a spin around my room.

Is it still worth getting then? Are there any other similar alternatives though, cause I would like to get stands that don't require a connector.

What Current Anime Are You Watching Version v3.0
raptormesh replied to wolfx's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
That explains it, I'm watching the DVD version. Growing on me though, I especially like the part with Shirley and the sound barrier. Maybe i should find the TV eps, as I am less inclined to watch this series now whenever my fiance's home. -
Best Movie Badguy of all time?

Hans Landa from Inglorious Basterds. Never knew someone can be so fearful whilst eating a strudel. Or drinking milk for that matter. -

Just started watching Strike Witches. Hate: Waaaay too many pantsu shots. Why do they not wear pants is beyond me... Love: All the references to WWII aces and the accompanying fighters from multiple countries. Also, Yeager(Chuck) and P-51. -
Thanks for the pics Areaseven. The plastic seems atrocious but would love one as an "aggressor" for my yammies to shoot and dismantle. Every time I take a look at the battroid form I keep getting drawn to the "splitdick" nosecone.

Official Bandai 1/100 VF HI-METAL VF-19 Kai Fire Valkyrie
raptormesh replied to QuinJester's topic in Toys
Just recently started watching Mac7, and was entertained enough to consider buying this toy. Seeing how they're handling the landing gear though it's a bit hilarious if one imagines the gear struts emerging from the base as the valk comes for a VTOL landing in fighter mode. Gave me a chuckle at least. -
RIP, Robotech was my first exposure to Macross as well. Thanks for helping to shape an interest in planes and bots.

All Things Video Games Thread: II
raptormesh replied to Wanzerfan's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
IIRC they were given to be ruled by your brother at the epilogue of the main campaign. Awakening is a pretty fun ride, they made the gameplay more fun with the new skills and better mission design. The only let downs were the horrid runecrafting interface and pretty dismal end boss fight(the mid campaign Zap-dragon fight was pretty fun though). -
My long awaited VF-22s Gamlin (held off the purchase since it first got released last year) finally arrived, one week SAL from HK. Pretty quick. Am I the only one who takes it around for a zoom after releasing it from the box, while it's STILL in its plastic shell? This thing is a KEEPER!!

I don't recall seeing any AIM-54 fins on his jet, but he fired winders and AMRAAMs for sure. EDIT: Yea his load was 6 AMRAAMS and 2 Winders. If Yamato made the F-14s I'll probably get two,
-
And this thread pops up a day after I ordered a Gamlin. =/ After a broken shoulder on my VF-0A, I just wish the valks aren't that sexy and alluring.
-
Yup, AE's customer service is prompt and friendly.

The main problems for me is that the canards looks too fat, and the main intakes being too wide. -

Zero for me. Prefer an amazing 3-course complete meal to a buffet spread -
Hi MW! I voted for the Zero, as i think it's the one most grounded in reality(ok that sounded rather silly). But IMO it's the most ungundam-like valk(VF-25s being on the other end of the spectrum, but i still love em ) out there that extrudes a warbird feeling. It's robust, built for war, and have a huge list of compromises which gives it a certain aura of vulnerability that only pure pilot talent can make up for. Or maybe it's coz my first yammie is a Zero Cheers
