Yes exactly!!! Btw, is it just me or did Ranka react to the "pain" of the Vajra queen and not the scream? She had the glowing belly thingie again (this time with the crystal's collor), seemed like some sort of fold link? Maybe it works the other way around aswel and causes the queen to react to Ranka's singing (or emotions that go with Ranka's singing) and maybe that is why they react to her

HOLY CRAP. I'm a huge SG-1 fan and I never realized that! The joke inside the joke - O'Neill was not allow to call the first ship the Enterprise so the writers named them after the ships from Macross. I would not be surprised at all. The producers of SG-1 were regulars at the fanboy hobby & comic shop here in Vancouver (Richmond actually) where I used to shop.

If I remember correctly Joseph Mallozzi once said that he used to watch anime when he was younger and that he like all kinds of series ... also mentioning macross, so yeah it's possible he anmed them after the ships, but dont forget that Deadalus and Prometheus are quite normal names to be concidered for naming a ship (mythology stuff ... ya know)

Crap... that explains what Sheryl was there for, as well as the EX-gear pics she had. Sheryl must've been playing Nora...

So, midway through the movie, some vajra must've popped up and tried to make contact with the fake APHOS prop, so Sheryl jumps in her custom pink VF-25/SV-51 replica, goes completely berserk, and bum rushes the vajra yelling "GET OFF THE SET, YOU'RE SCREWING UP THE MOVIE!!!"

She gets nearly wiped out, and crashes the plane on the island before Alto catches up and wipes the floor with the vajra, but the battle turns out so well that they scrap the original effects sequences and use the real stuff, wiping the fake APHOS out, and CGing the vajra into a new and more sinister looking APHOS, which Shin defeats in a crazy blaze of glory, leaving his VF-0 in tatters from when he shoved a nuke down it's throat for killing Sara before he could save her.

Oh, and Sheryl's singing the whole time.

Remember Ranka's belly glowing? That light kinda looked like the light from when Alto was stuck in the Vajra battleship and he heared Sheryl/Ranka singing. Perhaps......

What if the Vajra can hear songs from people like Sheryl or Ranka and have been able to for a long time. That might explain why they are after frontier/galaxy and why they constantly react to Ranka's singing.

Anyway yeah, the crystal seems to allow for communication, since Alto did hear Sheryl/Ranka sing. I too think that the earings are made of the same kind of crystal.
