Great news! I am actually excited about a Toynami product for the first time ever. But $200... even hard core fans aren't gonna pay that much. I really want it but there is no way I'd fork that out. I have a mortgage and I'm not insane.

yay, finally a new pic! The colour is looking very 'royal blue' - I was expecting a more muted shade of blue. But still, I like!

Rather than start another SOC thread I dug up this one. I just wanted to show you guys a few pics of the new Gaiking. It ROCKS! Comes with multiple sets of arms, legs and hands so you can build him in 'big' or 'skinny' modes. Also comes with 3 heads, one which you can pull apart to see the detail inside. Bigger than both the Mazingers and the new Shin Getter. And you can break him up into the 3 parts for display. I think he's my favourite so far. (thanks to blackaces for picking one up for me!)

Hey, mullets are actually coming back into fashion here in Hong Kong. Lots of young HK teenagers and guys in their 20s currently sporting mullets. Graham Same in australia. All the trendy people have them. What I find hilarious is back in the 80's it was just the rednecks who sported mullets. And now they're paying $100+ at boutique hairdressers to get them.

In 50 years time, cult film lovers will unearth his 'gems' and he'll be crowned the new Edward D. Wood Jnr.

Savini's remake of Night was very average. I'm a big romero fan, got all 3 dead movies. I still remember seeing the dismemberment scene near the end of Day of the Dead when I was in school! But I also loved the remake of Dawn of the Dead. I liked its unashamedly B-gradeness. And the scene where they're taking pot shots at celebrity zombies was comic genius!

That's gotta be a joke poster.. the chick looks like a 2 dollar.. um, lady of the night, and what is with that Mega Mullet on Michael Madsen?

I got my scopedog and Chirico today. Damn nice toys! I had the same 'gun hand' wrist problem. I just took an exacto knife and trimmed a bit off the inside of the hand where it fits onto the wrist peg and it pops on fine now. Mine's also a bit loose too. He can barely hold his gun up. And Man Boobs is cool! I like the face sculpt. And he is amazingly poseable. Actually, I don't mind the man boobs either... I consider it an interesting talking point for when guests come over. Guest: "Hey, does that guy have bitch tits?" Me: "why, funny you should notice... this one time at band camp... etc etc"

the swingbar hinge that joins the legs to the body is diecast and the rest is all plastic. But it's high quality ABS stuff so you don't miss the diecast.

Temperature shouldn't affect the paint. I live in australia where it gets really hot in summer and mine are fine. Just be sure to have them away from direct sunlight! My suggestions are: 1. Leave it in the box 2. you can try spraying a clear coat over the toy, which will protect the paint against scratching from transformation. I'd partially dismantle the toy so you can spray the sections evenly and not get any pooling or overspray.

New Robotech Transformable Toy Coming...
Guppy replied to VALKYRIE-EXCHANGE.COM's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I would be betting on the New Gen as the chosen toy line as their alpha MPCs have been really successful. As I picked up a Macross mpc for 20 bucks I assume their macross line didn't sell as well. -

you won't get any buyers here cos all of us will be trying to do the same! -
I never figured what to make of those.. mine aren't glued down and I fiddled with it until it popped off.. and it took me forever to get it back on the peg. So I never touched it again.

New Robotech Transformable Toy Coming...
Guppy replied to VALKYRIE-EXCHANGE.COM's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I'd love a cyclone but would they be able to pull if off? I have the IMAI transformable kit and it is super-fragile. And as we've seen in the past, Toynami love to 'borrow' from imai kits for their sculpts. I'm thinking it would have to have a fair amount of die cast in the very thin sections of the bike frame. I'm surprised they never made a cyclone super posable toy though. -
vader didn't know he'd been lied to. Even at the end where the palps lies again and says vader killed her by choking, he ate that up too. I think palps had successfully stripped away all his good qualities leaving hatred, anger and a lust for power.

that's a good question.. for me it's definitely true. That's why all my star wars stuff is sitting under the house, now I have chogokins, macross, gundam, etc in their place, and I think what was I smoking collecting SW figures?

New Gundam FIX and ZEONOGRAPHY on the way...
Guppy replied to GRAND CANNON's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
yeah, its rear skirt looks like it was stolen from a Gelgoog. -
Then you should have pointed it at the kit, not in your mouth!

Badgers are great! Mine's a badger and I've never had a problem. I thought that airbrushes would be one of those "a miser always pays twice" things, so I got a good one. You don't want to go to all that effort getting one so you can paint your kit super nice then have it destroyed by some cheap POS spitting paint all over it.

NO idea what you are talking about either. Well this is how you have a pilot/crew in your Koenig. 1. take a dremel and drill out the painted silver windows in the cockpit. 2. Fish out some pocket lint from your jeans and stuff it in there. Voila! koenig crew & pilot! AND they're removable, contrary to 'insider sources'

cool sketeches at the Weta site.. It's weird seeing adult women in the plugsuits, instead of skinny teenagers. -
I was the same as buffalobob77 - the re-releasing of star wars toys started, and about a year later I bought the "Boba Fett vs IG-88" 2 pack for a laugh as it was on sale for a couple of bucks. Then I came across ebay and I was history. Not long after that I came across MW when I was looking for tips & advice on how to make a Jetfire into a macross valk and that reignited my old robotech memories. Now I have too many toys and kits to mention and my poor old 200+ star wars figures now lie in a box under the house. On a side note it's been a great experience not just for the cool toys and being a part of MW, but in the last year I've gotten into airbrushing and loving it, and all because of a 2 dollar star wars figure. That "cheap" toy has since cost me many thousands of dollars...

hahaha! Great thread.. I missed it completely! I'll have to go home and pose my 48's for it.

I think it would be cheaper to go out and buy yourself a MG Gouf Custom and steal his gun. Or, I wonder if those 1/6 scale weapons would fit? I almost bought one for my Panzer Cop when I was in HK. I guess Dragon make them? Like one of these: http://www.rakuten.co.jp/tokyo-maniacs/468.../464199/#434048 or maybe a 1/48 Thunderbolt kit and steal his gatling? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...5978367106&rd=1
