  1. frankly, i love the look of the 1/72 ozma vf-25s super messiah and these bundles are actually on sale at a shop over here, 20% cheaper than the alto version bundled super vf-25f! still, no one is buying the ozma super vf-25s, of course, we all know the reason... but i am getting really tempted to get one yamato had better hurry up with their DYRL vf-1s/TV vf-1a max jenius otherwise u know where my money is going...
  2. haha cant help but say they made an idiot the main character in macross 7, and macross plus... curse of the vf/yf-19 *quickly hides*
  3. i gues not... sigh yamato better hurry up with this, and the max jenius vf-1a/s...
  4. well said, couldnt have agreed more it was exactly the same scenario for me, from transformers to macross... except it only happened to me at 2007
  5. i'm so glad to see that many people here are suggesting the 1/60 ver2 vf-1 and the 1/72 vf-25 kit these are simply the best lines out there right now!!! :D:D
  6. 1A: "Hip kibble!" Skywarp: "Parts former!!" 1A: "Not anymore, muahahaha!!!" OWNED
  7. were you ever tempted to paint those head arrows black?
  8. hi dudes, i just super parted my luca and wanna share the pics without the radome: without a display stand, the battroid can just barely stand in normal position dont even try anything remotely related to posing
  9. i'll try to answer your 1st question for the model kit, pretty much the durability depends on how well you build your model. for a non-super vf-25, i'd say its pretty durable and i practically treat it as a toy. things are diff when it becomes a super vf-25. its practically a "transformable display piece" its durable enough but dont transform it all the time but even knowing that, i still transform it all the time though, so i take the necessary steps to add friction to make the joints tighter, especially all the joints at the knee & gerwalk atriculation which need to hold up the weight of the armor in fighter mode. what i do is put a blob of super glue at these areas and keep twitching the joint until the super glue dries (kinda noobish but it does work ) or u can follow onderon's advice "you can always give the joint pegs and holes a nice coat of topcoat lawl or thin layer of PVA glue to stiffen the plastic again before you stick them back into one another" which i will try too very soon the friction you get from it is just nice if needed i'll post some new pics of the super valks on a display stand and in robot mode standing without any support
  10. that work is simply Godly! man i dont know how in this life i can ever manage to achieve that kind of greatness i just dont have the skill, nor the patience nor the time but as it is right now, i'm more than content with the ones i built myself 40000 yen... gosh Mike is my hero and i cant wait to build his valk
  11. awesome pic glad u showed it here dare i say, stealth vf-1j is the undisputed 2nd best 1/48 scheme no. 1 belongs to vf-1a low vis ver1, of course
  12. its really great to see how a 1/72 collection looks! (1/60 is too common nowadays ) on top of that, its a reflection of a loyal macross fan, that has followed the franchaise through the years. myself, i only hoped on the bandwagon when the yamato 1/48 was halfway through and 1/60 macross zero toys just came out. was previously a transformers fan, and a taste of macross toys made me realize... anyway heres my contribution to this thread a combination of the best 2 macross product lines right now (IMHO of course) you just cant go wrong getting either of them
  13. haha... kakizaki 1S honestly, the 1A dyrl kakizaki looks much better now in 1/60 ver2, than it did in 1/48. when i imagine the angel birds scheme in 1/60 ver2, somehow it seemed awesome too :S its got to be that tinted canopy playing tricks on me... anyway good job yamato and i will continue to buy more 1/60 ver2
  14. i would go for anything BUT the black yf-19 if i were you... the color scheme of the black yf-19... ah well *rolls eyes* although its black, there's something about it that simply sucks, that i cant explain. i totally agree with the way jenius described it in his review "The paint scheme isn’t very exciting but it’s also not too gaudy either. It strives to be a bit sexy and classy but in the end looks a little retro and dull. Really these toys just represent a wasted opportunity by Yamato to really capitalize on the 25th anniversary" yeah, spot on retro and dull. you can read his rather recent review here: http://anymoon.com/blog/2009/02/23/yamato-...rsary-specials/ right now, the best macross stuff to me are the yamato 1/60 vf-1 ver2 and the bandai 1/72 vf-25 model kits, you just cant go wrong with either of these lines.
  15. honkhet

    Yamato stands

Woah good luck on that man... anyway judging from yamato's previous display stands (launch arm style or SV-51 style) you should have NOTHING to worry about
  16. Lolicon, that white pin stripe you did on the head is just awesome, it looks so clean something i havent done yet till now (didnt have the guts ) welcome to the forums and welcome to the madness Kyp, the main colors i used were white, black, light blue, red and yellow. the red and yellow are used for the badges done by a a blob of yellow on top of a slightly bigger blob of red white is for the back part of the helmet, and the upper chest, upper back and shoulders. light blue/purple is for the front part of the helmet, and the left & right sides of the pilot's torso. black is for the mid part of the pilot's front torso. lastly, add the stripes on the helment according to the pilot's custom color (as shown by westfalls close up pic) for the interior, i only did paint the 2 (gas?) cylinders and that circle behind the pilot white, thats all i did. westfall, your pilot actually has much more detail than mine mine is definitely not as awesome as yours, its just the lighting and the camera i used to take my photos, they are not so clear... it even has "panel lines' on the chest, something i didnt think of doing SVF-Gerwalk good job at the very pronounced panel lines. Now, onto the painting
  17. i want my max vf-1s and TV vf-1a and i want it baaad... getting a bit tired assembling my macross frontier model kits yamato better hurry up before i breakdown and buy something else
  18. wow man really nice collection of Max and Hikaru! gosh i never knew MP Megs was so huge, compared to the 1/48! damn...
  19. WOW man
  20. when building the model kit, i highly recommend painting the pilot and tiniting the cockpit to ur liking it really brings up ur model to a whole new level here's some pics of mine PS:a 1/72 vf-25 with a 1/60 vf-1 (forgive the flash photography, i too wish i had an SLR )
  21. right now i have my vf-25g and super parts on its way to me! simply cant wait its gonna be my 4th vf-25 model kit and i hope i can assemble it quickly once you get the hang of it, assembling the vf-25 is not as hard as it was the first time. when i built my luca (my 3rd valk) i only needed to glance at the instructions again a few times
  22. nice one dude the assembled model kit already looks awesome enough with just stickers and panel lines
  23. i definitely prefer the TV style 1A head which is thicker than the DYRL style 1A head, but it seems yamato have definitely forgot to note this difference, they failed to notice this. look at the 1/60 ver2, the vf-1a head is the same for both TV and DRYL versions except for the eye part which is kinda disappointing... very disappointing to me even the Gnu-DO division of yamato took note of this
  24. haha ok, i've got the confidence to post my orignal post now, this is how it was before edit: "the model kit ownz the DX by far again and again and again. furthermore its cheaper, and we dont have to put up with nonsense inaccuracies, nonsense QC and nonsense "web-shop exclusives" the DX is just pure bullshit" i'm willing to face the music now
