Did Wolfx say that? lol!? Did he somehow miss the Sunrise animation team going on a holiday in episode 8? Also the 2d character animation in Gundam 00 was never at a high level in the first place, nowhere near the stuff you see in Frontier 01 and 04 or Seirei no Moribito or Soul Eater. Sheryl wins again lol... Gundam 00 took a long time to get going in the newtype polls as well IIRC so I didn't expect Frontier to place that high at this stage. Should start getting higher in an issue or two and stay up there for the rest of the year.

Ah one of these places hey... rose tinted glasses are standard issue I guess when looking back at past stuff? Slayers TV > Moribito because hand painted cels are better than digital color ones right! And no you can't call digital painting cg.

Interesting.. so looks like Sheryl is dominating in English and Chinese forums and going by these two polls she's doing well in Japan too.. anyone got access to the Newtype Character Rankings? Though it might be a bit too early for Frontier characters to be ranking on that... and Geass will dominate that anyway.

You haven't seen Seirei no Moribito? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FORDb8i_W6I I don't have to say youtube doesn't do it justice do I? There's one scene in episode 19 where they zoom way out from the characters and let their movements tell you what they are saying, no dialogue used at all. that's how good this show is. I do agree that people bitching about Frontier being average is stupid.. but Frontier isn't near the best for 2d animation.. it's way better than average of course though.. though episode 8 looks to bring it down a notch or two overall...

If it follows the SEED pattern of action episodes being the higher ratingf ones than 8 will drop again. Ignoring the first episode which probably had very low ratings due to Deculture being available for 3 months the two highest ratings episodes are 2 and 4 which have had the most action after the first. Episode 6: 2.0% Episode 5: 1.9% Episode 4: 2.6% Episode 3: 2.3% Episode 2: 2.7% Episode 1: 1.1% I'm guessing 2.5% for 7 and 2.1% for 8.

8 looks horrible actually... worst than 6.

Uh the first season of Code Geass is very poor at times... Idolmaster Xenoglossia is vastly superior effort from Sunrise.. Code Geass suffers from excessive panning and the actual animation is very lacking... of course some scenes look great like Suzaku/Lancelot Vs Kallen/Gurren but overall it's very average.. Bee Train animated a few episodes of Code Geass as well... Frontier kicks the poo out of Geass in the 2d animation department... 00 had very tight fight scenes but the character animation is nowhere near as good as Frontier has been at times... the best example of a well animated 26 episode tv series is Production I.G's Seirei no Moribito... and even then you can see dips in animation.. Code Geass R2 is a big improvement on the first season... of course it's because it has a bigger budget since the first season was a massive seller on dvd... it saddens me that some people can't notice that... way less panning and the fluidness of the characters is much improved. Still hasn't reached the peaks of Frontiers best efforts or Soul Eater for this Spring Season but it's very consistent.
