  1. The F is my favorite color scheme other that the A, but it could use that Visor, its head is a weak link. It almost looks skullish with those big bug eyes pokin out underneath.
  2. Anyone make a part like that Visor for the F that just plugs into the space where the horn goes?
  3. LOFL, none taken. Now that I think of it, all those transparencies have been sitting in a folder for like 10 years. I have already scanned them, I should sell em....
  4. The good thing is it isn't that easy. For a while I looked into mass producing the boxes on an offset press. This would allow me to print them on chipboard with a rosette pattern like the originals. Then they would be perfect. That idea met with furious feedback though from a lot of vintage collectors, got some NASTY pm's, so I walked away. I have seen a lot of fake boxes, purchased a few, never seen one outside of the high end KO boxes be up to snuff so far. Mine are actually too nice to be the originals, for a few reasons (I color corrected starscreams green tinted box for instance). First is I do this for a living and I am darn good at it, lol . I print them on a gloss instead of semi gloss stock (88+ Japanese boxes seem to be on Gloss) and on large format ink jet. Ink jet sits on top of the paper instead of soaking in, and the rosette pattern is replicated instead of actually there from the print. So you could see the difference in the print with a magnifying glass. Another reason, is I am a major collector of G1 Box Art transparencies and toys clips. I have a ton of them drum scanned high res, and ones I was missing I acquired scans of from other collectors and cleaned a lot up for Botch's Box Art Archive. For instance my G1 Megatron Box art is 9 feet tall by 2000 DPi. I could blow up megatron on the side of an 10 story building and keep resolution. I also have a flattened box for every G1 figure from 84-87 for reference. Every single piece lines up identically to the originals. I have resources that a lot of people and even KO makers don't. The hardest part is aquiring the mint loose toy to put in the bubble. You can fake a patina BTW, but it isn't easy and I am not sure about mass quantities.
  5. As did I. I had so many case fresh transformers that I sold before the boom. Case fresh, cherry picked MISB G1 toys. Several of the items I sold went on to be graded AFA 90's (including Liokaiser....whyyyyyy, what was I thinking!?!). I had flawless G1 cars, Japanese exclusives, Targetmasters and Headmasters in some of the best boxes ever. I have a large batch of those still, only ever graded the Browning because he was a grail. He got a 90, but my Overlord, Grand maximus, Star Convoy, Ulta Magnus, Batch of cars, Soundwave and the remainder are all case fresh and the best boxes I have ever seen online or for sale. This brings me to why I make my own now. Being a case fresh collector is impossible now. Even if I had the money I don't think I could bring myself to spend current value money on them. An AFA 90 Prime or Megs would be $10K-20K. I have been offered nearly that for a few not as wanted items years ago. The days of people opening storage units full of G1 Transformers is over, that ship has sailed and I did not take full advantage at the time. I bought a bunch of shitty new releases instead. Hindsight. But, I have the skills to still have my perfect mint display, so I am slowly working on it. Thanks for the compliments everyone.
  6. I fiddled around with Vaccuforming. I would buy original blisters and make plaster molds of them. Mine sucked because my Vaccuform sucked, but then I met the guy that ran bubbleformer. He had the process down so I bought a bunch of original bubbles he replicated and sent to me for free like Whirl and Roadbuster and I bought the rest that he made. I basically have digital files for every 84-86 box, some customs and all the bubbles ready to go. the silver/grey backers and the printable chipboard for the boxes is the hardest thing to come by. I made a custom box tutorial a while ago on TFW2005. Since then some people have started making repro boxes and selling them. I bought a few but none of them pass quality check for me. my boxes have to be as good or better than the originals. It helps me get over all the case fresh originals I sold for peanuts.
  7. I just collect G1 transformers MISB. 2 reasons, I believe they re the best toy packaging ever, and I have loved them since a kid. I saved all the box art, tech specs and even whole boxes back in the day. Love the art, love the designs. 84-86 and the 88+ Japanese packaging. Now they are out of this world in cost. So I just make my own replicas.
  8. Fighter: YF-21 Gerwalk: SV-262 (weird I know) Batroid: YF-19. (clean, no backpack design)
  9. ......complete?......what does that mean?....
  10. I wasnt enthralled with the 31 toy in pics and the even in the show but having the 31F in hand, its gorgeous. I so want bandai to take a crack at the 21/22 it hurts.
  11. LOL, I was going to say the same things. Got mine in 48 hours. I agree on the gap and the canopy. I'll also add that I am starting to feel like these designs are getting very busy. The elegance of the VF-11 through the 22 has vanished.
  12. this month. 17 days to go.
  13. Still, it has to be hurting Bandai's bottom line somewhat. There is creating demand and then there is not meeting it. I never even got a VF-25 at retail until the cannon fodder version. So I NEVER bought a VF25 other than the cannon fodder. My Bandai VF collection would be huge as a casual fan of the mech designs if it was only easy to get them. I grab them when I can, but I won't make it too much of an effort. Only Arcadia's YF-19 did I cave over retail, and only because I got a great deal on the boards here. So I typically cherry pick my favorite design, like the Messer and track that on Figinstock, the rest....meh, if it shows at release and if I have the money.
  14. I haven't liked any of the shows since Plus. I found Delta almost unwatchable. Love the Kawamori designs and I follow that exclusively now.
  15. The spears at the forward end of the intakes that rotate with the top half around the canopy. They are plastic glued onto painted metal parts. The glue took the paint right off. Looked like the inside had blue paint and bare metal showing. Glued right back on.
  16. Mine broke 1st transformation. The grey plastic spear on the side under the cockpit that the upper torso swivels on broke off with barely any pressure. The blue paint on the metal just gave out and the adhesive let go. Easy fix at least. Add that to the frustration of the gerwalk transformation and a flash piece that wouldn't let the gun slide over the wings i didnt notice for 20 minutes.....and that is the closest i ever came to smashing a new $200 toy with a hammer. Got it though, and glued it. I own thousands of transforming toys and for the first time i almost quit with it 1/2 transformed
  17. Mine showed up today. Just gorgeous. I am so impressed with the designs I am wondering where the improving toy technology will go next? Maybe Ultra precise panel gaps? The only gripe I could launch is the panel gaps.
  18. I know, i never give up just whine about it. I always get the figs I want, its that i was playing titanfall till 5am here. Went to bed and it went up minutes later. Keeps happening, lol.
  19. I miss the messer preorders over and over. It shouldnt be this difficult to preorder things months out. Bout to give up and be happy with the 262.
  20. They are equally awesome for totally different reasons. I have both and I love the batroid posability of the bandai, but love the animation model look of the arcadia. The fighter modes, I think goes to Arcadia, though I love the Bandai with its boosters (hate the tacked on boosters in batroid). Everyone keeps posting bandai is accurate to the one side shot technical drawing, but arcadia has the dynamic animated look that captures Kawamori's sketches and drawings. Taking a pic of it in fighter mode looks straight out of M+. Still love the Bandai though. Can't go wrong with either. People said Bandai is 3rd market crazy priced but I got mine just over 230 on the Jungle new a few weeks ago. Better than the arcadia prices.
  21. I originally voted for the Arcadia 19 in the Bandai vs Arcadia thread. However, I've grown to love the Advance. They are equally awesome, for different reasons. Plane mode is absolutely better on the Arcadia though, and I would purchase it first for that reason.
  22. Dang, I can't hop on these till after the 1st. soon.......
  23. I just moved into a new place, I will be placing an order right after the holidays. Have to see where they will fit in the room and which will be attached to the wall.
  24. You could say that M & M's Blue and Red are definitely outlandish, but they don't really feel airshow gaudy. YF-21 is solid blue but it never bothered me. The Red does a bit, which is why I only own Max's valks but they were an exception, Red Baron ace kind of feel. It's the wild pattern that bugs me. even the poster we have been shown feels like an airshow poster. It's the crazy paint jobs. While they always had color variations I always saw it a identification markers on an overall solid scheme. lol, no no no, they are sponsored by college football teams. The green and orange one is the Miami Hurricanes, the blue and gold 262 is Notre Dame.... they would be followed by small clamshell ships filled with bleachers and the college marching bands blasting music that somehow still travels through the vacuum of space through speaker missles...
